  1. You think you know what Thailand's visa policy will be in 5 years???? You must be joking.
  2. They are issuing a 5 year visa without asking anything about income. No need to be paranoid about taxation. There is no way for Thailand to know anything about your foreign income.
  3. Do you have any source stating that it will be temporary? I haven't seen that from any official source. It's not just the media. The Thai government minastry of foreign affairs has been stating this will happen. https://image.mfa.go.th/mfa/0/91fPdh6NtO/VISA_Information/New_Visa_Measures_July_2024.pdf
  4. 30 day extensions will still be allowed. https://image.mfa.go.th/mfa/0/91fPdh6NtO/VISA_Information/New_Visa_Measures_July_2024.pdf
  5. Nope, wrong. Ten year visas are valid even if they are in an expired passport. I have one issued before covid that I have used since covid restrictions ended.
  6. I don't think you will find anything like that in phils except maybe in Manila or Angeles. Certainly not in Moalboal or Bohol. It's hard to find even a basic condo to rent outside the big cities. Many of the foreigners livinig in phils tend to be on a very low budget and couldn't afford a villa. Those with money usually build their own home.
  7. Thanks for posting. Thats the most detail I have seen. I checked the official evisa website and noticed it is down for maintenance a lot of the next couple of days. I would bet they are doing upgrades for the new visa now and it will probably launch on the 15th. We should know all the details soon.
  8. So you can see it obviously won't be a simple multi entry visa as we know them now. Just wait for all the ridiculous details.
  9. The post above was just a general press release announcing this visa is coming. It was not giving you all the details about how to apply for the visa. There will be heaps more requirements and details published when this gets approved.
  10. Most countries that have similar visas require tax returns for the last year or two along with bank statements showing matching deposits. I assume Thailand will do the same.
  11. Or just atleast have the minimum basic requirements of an onward flight and 20,000 baht in cash. If you had those you probably wouldn't have had any problem at all.
  12. They haven't even anounced the requirements to get this visa yet. Why is everyone assuming it will be easy to get???? Thailand has a long history of announcing visas that initially sound great, but then they add so many ridiculous requirements that almost nobody actual qualifies.
  13. I doubt that. Post a photo of the stamp.
  14. You don't think someone who travels constantly and lives a nomadic life would have savings to live off of? Most digital nomads would have enough savings so that they would never need to remit income to Thailand.
  15. Thais are visa free to Turkey. Just go to Turkey on your holiday and skip Spain. Visa agents are worse than worthless for any western European visa. She could only obtain a visa for Spain in her home country or country of permanent residence.
  16. Did she have the required 20,000 baht in cash, an onward ticket, and a hotel booking? I'm guessing she didn't and that was your problem.
  17. The root domain suffix .in (India) should give you a clue that it is not an official Thai government website. It's just a worthless spam site reposting random probably false information.
  18. I'd much rather just mail my passport in than walk into an embassy. Renewing in Thailand is super simple. Just follow the instructions.
  19. That's not an official site-- just a random site publishing information that may or maynot be correct.
  20. Good point. No, I wouldn't trust them with that.
  21. Completely false, and yelling it doesn't make it true. LTR visa holders are not required to do 90 day reports.
  22. I think its likely that they will put so many ridiculous requirements on this visa as they did with the LTR visa, that almost nobody will actually qualify for it.
  23. Most other countries that have digital nomad visas would require some type of documentation of your income, such as a tax returns (which if you are self employed as is common shows your business name and description) and / or bank statements showing deposits. Its really not hard to prove you are a legitimate digital nomad.
