We know, these ratings are far too subjective...For example, Time Out named the neighborhood of Nørrebro in Copenhagen as the most cool in the world, but, in my opinion, is just a <deleted>hole, nothing fancy about it.Even Sukhumvit soi 11 is better. So, let's not get too excited about these ratings.

They are incompetent. They look at what smarter countries in the area did, for example Singapore They wait to vaccinate more people Most likely, it will be delayed again They make plans, how we can keep tourists in one spot. They are clueless They wait for Dr.Yong to read something about Delta on Google They wait Dr.Yong to retrieve his Facebook password, as he forgot it Then the big decision comes This is the current situation.

Anutin praised for getting Thailand off UK's travel "red list"

Nothing to do with Anutin. Typical lackey attitude. They focus on positive news (not for thais this one) and I doubt thai people read foreign media, therefore they can easily be manipulated. -
COVID-19: Thailand reports 11,140 new coronavirus cases, 116 deaths
drenddy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I can live with mask wearing, to some extent. For me is the prospect of being sent to hospitel/hospital in case of testing positive/ near contact. Perhaps, at my expense. And, imagine a hugely congested healthcare thai system. You could end up on a stretch waiting for an hospital bed. -
COVID-19: Thailand reports 11,140 new coronavirus cases, 116 deaths

Tourists will not come, even if the red tape is removed. Only those with connections in the country. Look at Spain and Greece, fully opened in the summer, still under expected/desired numbers. And these are EU countries, which meant treatment for Covid would have been free of charge, even quarantine. There is still fear about travelling, especially far distances. -
Thailand to introduce 500 baht tourist entry fee from Jan 1st

This is the only thing, they came up with, which will be implemented according to the plan. -

I was worried about Dr Yong Google, but I am glad he's back and he enriches us with his great wisdom. -
Perhaps current ASQ hotels will just change the name into SHA +. As you will not be confined to the room and you will have to pay for the tests yourself, room price should go down, but this is Thailand, same, same, but different.

Thailand seeks to slash quarantine period for visitors
drenddy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If Bangkok reopening will be sandbox type, perhaps many other hotels will get SHA+, so, on that part, we will see a price drop.Just book the cheapest.I remember, I saw hotel rooms in Patong as low as 250 THB/night, SHA+. Insurance : I assume, nobody travels without insurance, Covid or not. PCR tests : money grabbing scheme. No matter what, these measures will only benefit returning thais and expats.Real tourists will not bother with this red tape. I am feeling like that Facebook doc, Mr.Yong...I am writing what everybody else knows already. -

Danmark has invented: - democracy - free speech - women emancipation - good food - The Bible - first country to give women right to vote - last country to abolish sex with animals, no kidding here (however, we need the results from The Taliban Government) What else do you need to know about Denmark's extraordinary role in the world?
