Phone number is there, he phoned at 7.45 this morning and my wife gave him clear directions how to get here.
East to get to my home, gawd even Hotandsticky managed it, so that shows how easy we are to find.
ok, normal procedure here is that the delivery guy phone when he reached my hotel, simple way is you say "lazada ?"
he confirm, and you say 'lah pep nung'

Good question mate, why did he not phone, only he knows the answer.
I am in full view of the gate, as i am in my chair below the original house all day.
As soon as the dog barked, i went over to the table to get the remote, then chained the dog.
Looked at the gate, nobody out of the pickup, so i went down the drive to the gate 10 meters, on my way there pickup drove off.
ok, my verdict is the phone call that didnt take place is the culprit, before you proceed, you should check details on your account to make sure the phone nr is there.
also wonder if your thai language skill is up to snuff to confirm you understand the courier and can tell him you are on your way out to meet him

Hello did you read my post #1, driver did not get out of the pickup, he never came anywhere near the gate, which can only be opened by remote fob.
Neither of my dogs can get to the gate, so anybody outside the gate is perfectly safe.
hi, i just want to notify you my edit:
the big question i got is: why didnt the courier phone you upon arrival ?
that is always the case for me, and my respond is "just 2 minute i come down"
so he wouldnt need to enter the property,
just get acknowledgement that you are coming to meet him.
if i am expecting a delivery but leave home,
i tell maid to cash out before i leave
-
i wouldnt enter a property with barking dogs either, if the owner is not present and control the feral animal, unless i am armed.

no lessons was needed for me, except that one time when
i was going to turn on a dime and my leg could not carry the weight of the bike, what an embarrassment.
but anyway, after a week i had adjusted sufficiently
to be comfy and know the general gist of what i could do.
from a safety aspect, i rate the fat tyres as the biggest factor,
those tyres dont go flat, you can feel the difference when they got no air but its not like on a scooter that just collapses underneath you when the front tyre goes flat

A Forza or Xmax are a different class than the PCX or Nmax. The first one is doable outside of a city, the second one is not.
Would you ride a PCX / Nmax from BKK to Phuket? Yeah it's doable, but it's also insane, and much more dangerous than doing the same trip on any big bike.
The Forza / Xmax would be OK for that trip, but a CB500X would be much better.
otoh it can also be argued that the scooter is better for long trips, because with a scooter you can rest assured
that there will be a repair shop within 100 meters from where it broke, while with a real bike the only option is to phone a big bike dealer to come and pick it up, order spare parts from singapore, and get it running again in a couple of weeks, at the cost of 15k, plus 5k for picking up the bike at the road

for me it took around a week to get use to it,
until then it felt like the bike was riding me

I disagree. statistics tell us that Sweden already had the second wave, it followed the first one closely. You can actually see it on the graph.
no it doesnt, you can actually see it in the graphs,
the weak members of the herd is sorted out already

yes that is exactly what statistics so far is telling us

statistics indicate regions that were hit hard dont get a 2nd wave, i.e herd immunity is achieved at the cost of the weak

i think you have lost it when you look for alcohol free beer,
i mean, just the thought of it, to even conjure up the idea,
is grave enough that you should do some soul searching.
i find that pressing lime in cold water quench the thirst well,
and is a nice taste as opposite of plain water

the breaking power of a rear drum isnt gonna be good in the best of conditions, you just have to make up your mind if its good enough or order replacement in hope of slightly netter

i dont mind electric cars, but i do mind subsidies

It is a fording kit installed on vehicles to ford streams and rivers so the engine's oxygen
intake does NOT get water in it and kill the engine. I used these vehicles in the military
to drive trucks through streams and rivers. Very useful in you don't want to abandon and
swim to shore.
what vehicle was that ?
i get it that a main battle tank has the weight
and the traction from its track propulsion to drive submerged,
but even amphibious armored vessels float
and uses a propeller to propel itself to dry land.
come to think of it even subs armored to withstand 200 meter pressure and torpedo impact still float lest it deliberately flood a good portion to sink

I never understand why so many people who have absolutely NOTHING to contribute to a conversation feel that their voice must be heard...
To answer your question: combustion engines need air in order to work. For a car to be able to operate when the engine is under water (when crossing a deep steam) the engine must have the airway uninterrupted. The snorkel being above water ensures air can enter the engine and not water.
Another reason for snorkel is when driving on dirt roads where cars in front produce a lot of dust which might block the air filter and choke the engine. Having the air intake higher allows for cleaner air and reduce filter clogging.
yeah, i suspected it was, but i think its a marketing toy more then anything else, if water is so deep that you get submerged, then a car will lose traction, and float altogether until the inside has been flooded

I know it is an old post but today I was at Soi Arunotai near Big C wanting to go to 2nd rd a distance of less than a kilometre. I was in a hurry so asked a win driver. 60 baht. I walked in 10 minutes instead. Maybe they need to ask why people aren't using them? The only farung left in Pattaya have more sense than to pay their outrageous prices.
that was actually cheap imo

thats the only good thing about the mask,
i dont have to show my teeth

It's all just talk but no action. If the people in charge really cared about pollution and climate change, then why the electric cars are still sold at exorbitant prices? If they want a positive change then there should be stimuli for people to purchase greener cars.
electric cars are not greener

I certainly agree with the greater development of public transport.
yeah, i love the skytrain in bkk and wish for one in pattaya too, but i think its going to produce more revenue
if it goes in a circle on pattaya tai-3rd rd-pattaya nua-beach rd, in both directions, rather then the track to railway station

let the natural market dictate price,
its not doing squat for environment, rather on the contrary,
so dont subsidize this fart of a brain
