Just today, I had a Thai PhD, (Assistant Director of a college,) get genuinely angry at me simply because I put her in a position where she was required to think!

..... What (exactly) does this mean?? - It sounds hopelessly subjective to me.

I just started working at a government school in Bangkok 2 months ago and got my first work permit. My pay is 25,000 Baht per month. I would love to be paid 50,000!

Sounds like a thai lie from a vindictive, not too pretty girl, with bad grades. I sure this will come back on her by the way of other students shunning her and perhaps university expulsion. Definitely loss of face. Life is not fair but its easy to blame others.

It's a generality, of course, but I've found that statements laden with such words as "all", "always", "never", "anyone" and such are not to be taken seriously. In this case I can state as a fact that the quoted statement is total manure. (But you knew that already, didn't you?)

Yes - I know it's "manure" - but I don't disregard the 90% because of the 10% that's "in-exception." Would you prefer that I had said,

"Most of the people..." - ? Fair enough - I stand corrected

Recruiting teachers must be difficult. Thailand is the only Asian country I know of where prospective teachers must pay for their visas, air fares, a place to stay.

Additionally, I have been here for 3 1/2 years, a credentialed teacher from California,...but, so far it seems, I don't have the right "connections" to

find any employment whatsoever! (Being over 50 is a definite negative also!)
