This is a good idea. There are many foreigners that are entering Thailand with the new brand of Covid. I would like to see a fourteen day quarantine also reinstated for new entries. The January 15 opening of bars should also be moved up until the middle of next year on the new fears of covid.
Are you screaming mad??…..many farangs bringing in covid. Put a number on that. (0.02% of arrivals). How about you do 14 days whilst being triple vaxxed and even with a O variant wont be sick for more than a few days ….the CDC has recommended 5 quarantine vs the 10 and you want throw the book at arrivals. How about the local population sorting out its covid problems first. And the MANY MASKLESS EXPATS ……

Good. Safety first and masks up!
Really?? Safety first should start in Thailand itself. Mask up…..you must mean all the $&$& local farangs that walk around oblivious to covid. Thais mask up. Arrivals bring minimal risk and. mask up.

Totally misinformed. But then so many deniers on the forum. I agree most of the time no problem. My parents my brother his wife and daughter all caught it. All vaccinated. Brother had all kinds of underlying diseases my parents too and aging. None of them had serious problems. But his wife strong never sick had it bad. Could stay at home but far worse then a cold. All of them lost part of their stamina. My brothers wife also has problems focusing on stuff.
Its not something you want to get especially as its unpredictable, the one we thought would not have any problems had it worst and is still not recovered (and yes omicron). So if that is what a flue does then i probably never had a flue.
Totally unexpected that the stronest had the most problem and even now problems of total loss of stamina and attention span.
Many maskless vaccinated walk around thinking they are invincible …foolish no doubt. Covid preventive measures should still be followed. Do i crowd my self with maskless farangs whilst the local thais wear masks ….hell no.

Triangle Bar, off Soi Bukahow, has had 6 members of staff taken into hospital quarantine after testing positive for covid. Part of the SHA+ accreditation is regular staff testing.
Bar has been shut until further notice.
Nick Dean was saying that omicron is everywhere in Pattaya and that Chonburi are having a meeting today. He expects restrictions to come back in.
One minute the Scandinavians are whingeing their banged up because they can't read the Test-Wait-Maybe-Go-Hospital small print and then the next bunch of ABBA lovers think everythings calm.
Well by the looks of most farangs maskless everywhere you turn on soi baukhao, tree house big c…its no wonder covid is on the rise especially the easily transmissible O. Farangs seem to not give a damn….but are the first to complain when a bar closes

Honestly do not see this as a valid argument. If its in Thailand already you need to be testing the entire populace every five days. The chances per head count of incoming tourists having covid after being vaccinated maybe 3 times and having 2 tests i think is far less than a random amount of thais in the public domain not taking any tests.
Valid point but also part blame on the infected farang perhaps….being vaccinated boostered doesnt mean you should drop your guard. Wear the damn mask, follow protocols.

Would you like to fly on an aircraft piloted by someone who was suffering from any kind of coronavirus?
Maybe you would. Maybe you've not seen how people can go from having a laugh one minute to fighting for their lives a few minutes later when their blood oxygen levels plummet. I don't know, but I do know from experience that flying staff love to fly.
Wth? I am one of those flying staff….many pilots refuse the vaccine. Refuse mask wearing. Mostly politically motivated. Total idiots i say. Airlines have mandated get vaccinated or fired. Flight attendants comply more as most countries require vax cards to even work a trip. Relegated to flying domestic otherwise. Pilots have refused trips if a coworker shows symptoms of severe covid.

The primary benefit of cloth masks is to remind the user to not touch the nose and mouth frequently. They are infinitely less effective than most think. And I am not only referring to Omicron.
A healthy diet and lifestyle is far more effective at keeping the immune system working well. And wearing a mask outdoors accomplishes little but keeping the masses highly paranoid, in all but the most crowded areas. Same applies to wearing one in your car (insane) or in your home (highly insane).
How about in the supermarket or mall …a novel idea since that’s where i dont see mask wearing farangs . Excuses excuses. Such bs

I live in Thailand - give to Caesar what is Caesar's. It's mostly symbolic, how effective it is is not really the point. Having said that, making love wearing facemasks gives me an excuse to reveal my kinky side. Ha! Not really. At 66 years the days of balancing various girlfriends has long gone, I struggle with one. Still, nice to have been there, done that, and got the t-shirt. One thing I regret, not keeping the various love letters over the years - would make interesting reading for my descendants.
Wth was that dribble? Just trying to Imagine you wearing a mask to keep us all safe

Why bother …farangs dont wear them or wear it on their chin. In Thailand most privileged farangs think covid only attacks Thais. SMBS

god give me strength to deal with all the looniesPlease igore that FB Antivax wizard behind the internet curtain. Antivax only prolongs this virus because enough hosts keep it alive. How many of you had measles or polio?? None. And why?

Correct
and across the world the scientific and medical evidence is that those who are hospitalised are the unvaccinated, sadly the irresponsible antivaxers will not accept this evidence and continue to believe the conspiracy theorists and the fake news merchants, so to those people, if you catch it please don’t overload medical staff in hospitals demanding medication and oxygen because you do not deserve it
Well said …..

People aren't stupid.
We had the story of the Danish family yesterday, with the daughter being taken off to hospital for failing a test.
Area 39, a very popular bar near Treetown, Soi Bukahow, Pattaya has started ATK testing to get into the premises. They are not accepting proof of vaccination apparently.
Editor of the Pattaya News confirmed that if you fail that ATK test, an ambulance will be called and you will be taken to hospital.
Who in their right mind is going to travel 6,000 miles to put up with heads you win, tails your taken to hospital.
Well if you test positive its maybe because you farangs walk around brazenly WITHOUT MASKS…constantly in Big C , shops and soi baukhao. Covid only looks for thais and ignores farangs so it seems. I’d avoid soi baukhao like the plague unless i want to get covid.

Can you explain to me the logic of "mucking about" on a motor bike with a mask, or travelling with your wife in a car and having to wear a mask?
Also explain how the doctor is going to enforce not speaking to your family while having a meal at home at your own dinner table?
I can understand the logic of having to wear one in supermarkets etc, but really...?
Its in the supermarket and malls near me that i see only 95% of the farangs not wearing masks. Obviously not in home or in cars.

Although I came via test&go I do not think this is a safe route. There should be 5 days min quarantine for all to cover incubation period. On day 6 get pcr test. Forget LFT. Too unreliable.
Then why didnt you take the ASQ 7 day plan. ? You wouldnt feel so bad.

What was so stupid about it? Easier than the COE process. Have you done either or just doomsday like most here

No more than the farangs who catch covid and won't go into quarantine because they, like so many expats, think they are superior to Thais.
Or those farangs that walk around without masks while the rest of suffer and comply

High risk at what is considered a less severe strain with present knowledge. The hysteria. Now if you can direct that hysteria towards the 12,000 killed on thai roads I’d be pleased

in that way, we can earn income without allowing people enter the country!!!
I got a better idea…why not fine ALL the farangs mucking about WITHOUT masks in Thailand. It annoys me that they feel so special and stupid while ever other Thai wears a mask.

I registered the 20th by some luck and i seem to understand it i need to wait for QR approval…..after 4 January ?
cases are going down after the initial soike in South Africa with few deaths. Seems hysteria has governed most countries including thailand. My other concern ….after all the huddles i need to jump, why do most farang NOT wear masks in Thailand whilst thais do? Arrogance or blatant disregard for the law??
Thailand’s Minister of Public Health officially proposes to Covid-Center to postpone resuming “Test and Go” until at least the end of January

My mate in Pattaya says he counted at least 50 farangs and one had a mask on. Another under his chin. Reckless and yet now i maybe will need to quarantine yet again after 3 vax shots and pcr tests. Not fair
