I didn't fanny around at all, I had my 1st jab on 9th August, 2nd jab as stated earlier, I was on 6 different lists waiting for notification from one or all of them, I was on every list the moment I became aware of them, expatvac, expat. consular, British Chambers of Commerce, plus some of the local private hospitals, I have also paid up front for the Moderna vaccine as and when it arrives, I will now convert that into 2 booster jabs for me and the Mrs when it arrives.
I wouldn't call that fannying around, just cos you can't get a bj or happy ending massage with your usual beer isn't my problem is it.
August? I got double vaxxed in April with Pfizer …some of us have families too just like you have your Mrs. kinda rude to assume massages and etc are what sitting in quarantine hell is all about.

Better safe than sorry as far as I'm concerned, I don't get my 2nd AZ jab until the beginning of November, someone has seen some sense at last.
Sorry for guys & girls waiting to get back here or for your gyms, bars, massage parlours etc to open.
I have little pity for anti vaxers and their conspiracies. It irks me to to have to think i would need to do another 14 day quarantine (3rd) to spend any time leftover in my condo whilst others in that condo REFUSE to get vaccinated. I hope immigration make getting vaccinated an ABSOLUTE requirement for extendending retirement visas.

Still vague news because Pattaya, Huahin said they were ready 1 oct. BKK was the major city behind. How does one even begin to make preparations
-
1oct sound great but people seem to forget that if that date holds true…it takes at least 2 weeks to get all the paper work in order since that wont be going away anytime soon. Make it 15 oct. win win for all.

I guess some bar owners, "had it on good authority," like some said and thought before, they will open soon. No way is it going to happen. There are other variables no one talks about, such as even if open there are not enough hospital beds for people who come and may need due to unforeseen issues, other than covid. Hotels are not ready, only some have sent in maintenance crews to start preparing the pipes, airconditner, cleaning up from the pest, and cats that have been livkng in these empty buildings etc... the people may want and desire just out of need, but is this really a culture that plans or implements any action for a future needs? No its a live in the moment society.
Plenty of hotels are at the ready.you haven’t obviously looked at the ASQ LIST

Wonder how they got their numbers when Singapore reached 80% fully vaccinated in August. Anyway vaccination rate doesn't count much when community infection is still rising in Singapore. I highly doubt Thailand's decreasing numbers.
Community infections among vaccinated doesnt mean death. Forget about zero covid. That aussie /nz mentality needs to be put to bed

The government screwed up early on by believing that the fast lockdown was all that was needed and not ordering vaccines soon enough. But, they are redeeming themselves now, vaccinations are being done in increasing numbers and confidence is rising again.
We've gone from expecting bodies in the streets, to expecting re-opening soon.
This is a time for hope and looking forward, not recriminations and looking back.
Many of us want pattaya opened to arrivals (especially expats) . It’s not all about bangkok. Still no news

I expect the initial reopening of Bangkok to international tourists will come with a lot of fine print and Catch 22's which will keep the great majority of international tourists away....just like the Phuket Sandbox.
No doubt a paid 14 day “quarantine “ ,health insurance, 2-3 tests,coe …..

"2. Infection rates in Bangkok need to come down from the current 2,700 to 2,800 a day."
I hope they realise that once they achieve a vaccination level deemed acceptable and open back up, that infections will soar.
Vaccinations do not stop infections, albeit reducing viral loads. But they do significantly reduce serious cases.. That has been proven by global data coming in. Inevitably we will all get infected. Virtually impossible not to.
But, most of us would only need rest at home, like a flu. Like the flu, a very few vaccinated will die. A tiny percentage. Hospitalizations needed for vaccinated will be far less than unvaccinated.
So when infection rates inevitably soar amongst the vaccinated, I hope the government does not decide to lock us all back into our homes again.
The government will need to allow the virus to infect us all so we can all get it over and done with. It is unavoidable.
I say this because criteria #2 has no further details.
You seem to forget that those vaccinated arrivals get test FOUR TIMES . And present little danger to others. The numbers might soar but most wont even know they are sick if vaccinated. Even testing postive and vaxxed is not a concern. Covid wont go away. Numbers mean nothing. Severe hospitalization and Death numbers are what should be noted

Opening BKK for tourists without quarantines and multi PCR tests will have it's downside of course and a price to pay, it remain to be seen whether the price will be worth it...
How so??? Worried about vaccinated and multi tested arrivals being infected by unvaxxed thais and farangs ? Seems abit unfair that i cant go to my condo fully protected while some unvaxxed farang has a swim and enjoy s his condo with no recourse

Yet more nonsense about this system.
First of all, AOT doesn't use the system for anything - they're an airport management company. The system is used by Immigration and Customs.
Second, the system has never been used "to detect air passengers with criminal records to help contain transnational crime". Contrary to claims they've made since APPS was introduced, it does not somehow give them access to criminal records from other countries that would otherwise be unavailable to them; all it does is send passenger information ahead of the flight so that authorities can (theoretically) screen the data before arrival and know which people are of particular interest. In theory that could speed up arrival processing, but in practice that hasn't happened at all, since immigration delays rarely have anything to do with blacklisting or other obvious red flags.
Finally, the system cannot be used "to check the health certificates of air passengers" (another report claims that it will actually verify the authenticity of those documents). All it will potentially do is allow the uploading of information provided by the passenger so that it can be sent ahead of the flight. This could again theoretically allow for faster processing on arrival, but I think it's a virtual certainty that there will still be multiple manual reviews of the same paper documents that were already transmitted. I'm hoping to be proved wrong.
Maybe can be used to verify the CEO as they receive the orginal covid docs to issue that certificate of entry.

The issue is those still hospitalized and on ventilators as well as those at home waiting for a bed for treatment. Vaccinations seem to be kicking up, and it seems that the Government wants to try and do 1 million tests on this upcoming Friday, which if they can pull off show that anything is possible. My question is this "In order to do the 1 million do they actually have the doses available or are they going to move into the new under the skin vaccination procedure to save vaccine as another OP running now indicates. I have yet to see any real world studies on the use of an under the skin vaccination vs. an intramuscular injection. The issue obviously is that the studies done for each vaccine were on actual injections and not under the skin. Lets hope that those who are vaccinated starting with this new plan do not have any issues and the vaccine is taken up by the system and does not stay as a lump under the skin. Finally obtained a vaccination appointment for my GF, and verified it with her doctors as being ok, good to go. Waiting to see how the rules may change as well for travel with the vaccination and continued testing when one arrives at their destination. Seems that even being double vaccinated is not good enough, but why international travelers are treated differently form those of us living in the country is a true inequality. Stay safe folks and continue to be vigilant wherever you may be.
Still beyond me why fully vaccinated arrivals are deemed a risk and need 4 (four) pcr tests.

So that everyone will then overstay their visas a year or more and then expect to just waltz on out of the country? If he had the money for a flight to Russia...he has (or can get) 20k to pay his fine.
500b a day fine?

I was vaccinated, second jab, a week ago and still don't have the certificate as their computer system wasn't working. I was told I will get it sometime, somehow, somewhere. I really, really have no idea how Thailand manages to function at all as so many things don't work and so many people really have no idea what they are doing. It's like dealing with 7 year olds.
The same happened to my mate but he got a call and picked up his vaccination card properly prepared. Maybe back home in your country they go things better. Oh but you choose to diss Thailand for all its flaws. Pension goes along way here. Price you pay for misspellings

Similar thing happened to me three years ago when i was given someone else's papers. I've also had my name spelt wrong on many occasions on Bank Letters and Bank Books even after it's taken them half an hour to produce them and three different people involved. Naturally it takes another half an hour to rectify things, no apologies, only giggles. Thai Banks are the most inefficient i have ever come across anywhere on The Planet !
Maybe they spell thai names better in thai. English is not their first language….guess you forgot. “My friend you” should remind you. ????

it is a mess, however .... would any other country be different, I mean are you going to trust someone else's piece of paper from Nigeria or Brazil that say's your fine, all negative tests. ?
You see what I mean ?
Works both ways. Farangs or Thais getting vaccinated or tested in Thailand will travel too. Other countries trust that piece of paper too

Anyone that wants to travel during a pandemic and take a vacation needs to accept that rules and regulations, just as at home, are likely to change. I live in Bangkok. The rules for me to travel to Phuket, Samui, Ko Tao, Phi Phi, any of those places or other provinces have changed regularly over the last few months.

Hello Thailand…..there’s your answer
-
Everybody here is an expert so it seems ….most posters already in Thailand are saying keep it closed. Gracious of you. Donate your pension checks to the starving Thais we so dearly love. Whilst you enjoy your cheap beer maybe consider that the government will decide whatever… not you or I . A reduced quarantine, or status quo..but definitely vaccinated only. Protect the arrivals from the already infected locals should be a concern.

Wouldnt want vaccinated tourists infected by the locals. He hasn’t figured out that the arrivals are NOT the problem

I don’t understand: is this person worried about letting full vaccinated so-called tourists in Thailand, tested at their own expense thrice and putting them at risk of getting infected as there are two hundred. contaminations a day ?
That is altruism !!! ????Dont forget the pcr test before travel. That’s 4 expensive tests on a double vaxxed so called tourist
