"Many people are 100% honest" - that is not an honest comment. It would be more honest to state that most people are 100% honest or that the majority of people are honest.

1st Pfizer gave a bad stomach ( maybe some food) 2nd Pfizer, 2 weeks after the mother of all skin rashes across my chest hospitalized for 5 days with a drip antibiotic, diagnosed as an unspecified viral skin infection temperature on admission 39.2,3rd Pfizer 2 weeks ago no problems.
It's a bit worrying that a hospital would give you an antibiotic for a viral infection. Antibiotics are used for bacterial infections.

I refuse to believe those figures. I live in a 40 sq m serviced studio with a lift in HCMC and according to those figures I should be paying nearly 22 million yet in reality I pay 8 million.

Does testing positive for drugs in Thailand automatically lead to prosecution? Tests for THC can be positive for as long as a month after last use of marijuana. If a tourist on a two week holiday tested positive for THC they may not have come close to weed whilst in Thailand and had therefore broken no laws.

Very sad. How about a rule (that is enforced) that limits the number of people on one motorcycle to no more than two?
That a great idea in a perfect world. Unfortunately all over SE Asia (I live in Vietnam) there are thousands upon thousands of families who do not have sufficient funds to buy another motorbike let alone a four wheeled vehicle so they have little choice but to transport their whole family on one motorbike.

Sorry, you're not going to Vietnam, not for a long time yet. I live in Saigon and haven't been allowed to leave the house for three weeks now, and the last time I was able to go to a supermarket was on 8th July.

Perhaps this is a silly question but is Thailand a welfare state? Do the unemployed get any form of state benefits like they do in western countries? If not, how do they measure how many people are unemployed or do the government just randomly guess like they appear to do with most statistics?

I live in HCMC. I'm not a poor worker, I'm a teacher but I haven't worked since the end of April. In May & June my landlord reduced my rent by 25% and last month he reduced it by 50%. I didn't ask for it and told him I have savings but he insisted. We're in a very strict lockdown here at the moment. He keeps delivering food to my door and has gone out of his way to help me, including registration for a vaccine. The sense of community is very strong here regardless of a person's nationality. I'm very lucky to live here.

I joined some Vietnam groups on FB. As you can see, my original post dated from November. I arrived here in October, had a quarantine and was released end of October...
Actually, since, I already got the Vietnamese Driving License in December as soon as I got the work permit and TRC.
Thanks
Sorry, it was only after I commented that I saw how long ago you had posted.

I'm surprised that you've been here since October and haven't joined any Facebook Groups. "Vietnam Legal" is a good one and "Expats in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Vietnam" You'll find this question appears a lot. The Vietnam section of this site is in its early days so there are limited Vietnam based members at the moment.

Just wonder what kind of excuse they will have at the end of July. Surat Thani? Who ever goes there?
Surat Thani is also a province which includes Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, hence their inclusion in this fantasy scheme.

"Sophon Cable TV reported that one of the officers Captain Phanthep Sribunnak was in a coma."
"Officer Phanthep was hit in the shoulder, chest and abdomen."
What they neglect to point out is that the coma was induced by doctors so that the patient could be put on a ventilator. It had nothing to do with a head injury as would be most readers' first assumption.

In the west we have "Perp Walks" ...here in Thailand we have "Perp Wais"....I love to see foreigners who have acted like idiots (remember the guy kicking the tiny Thai woman at the market when he thought she stole his cart ?)...then they figuratively prostrate themselves in public to avoid being kicked out...too funny and very satisfying to see.
I'm from the West. What the hell is a "Perp Walk"?

So, out of 400,000 tons of e-waste annually, they collect 500 tons (0.125%). Of that 500 tons they have properly disposed of 6.3 tons (1.26%).
This means that 0.0016% of all the annual e-waste has been properly disposed of. I'd have thought that was something they'd keep very quiet about rather than issuing a press release.

vietnam is opening. Hawaii seems to have done ok last time i checked. Just be aware that no matter where you go you will probably be stuck in quarantine for 2 weeks.
Yes, Vietnam's borders are opening but only for Vietnamese citizens and a few foreigners who have expertise that can benefit Vietnam's fight against the pandemic. They are all immediately put into 14 days quarantine upon arrival.
???? Keep safe everyone

One might argue that social distancing is a European thing where masks are not worn ..full masked then debatable about having 'empty' seats .. guess they will also temperature check before boarding..
One might also argue that the success of Vietnam's fight against the virus has been aided by social distancing and the wearing of masks. Quarantine and effective contact tracing have been more important but the effectiveness of social distancing cannot be ignored. These are the reasons why there have only been 268 cases, with only 44 currently active and zero deaths. ???? Keep safe and wash your hands

“We discovered the damaged coral to measure approximately one square metre which equates to about B20,000 in costs,”
What are the costs? Are they going to replace it? Is that the value of one square metre of coral to the tourist industry?
They do come up with some serious <deleted> sometimes.

A good start would be to ban the sale of water pistols etc. until after Songkran, if they are serious.

What a nightmare to be aboard that ship, not knowing where or when they'll be allowed to disembark.
Luckily the Hong Kong embarkation was on the 1st February, 10 days ago. The incubation period is 14 days, I think, so they don't have to wait too long until they'll be considered safe.

that he always thought that school was a "second home" and that teachers were "your other parents".
This is very much part of the problem. The school is not your second home and teachers are not your other parents.
In loco parentis is a legal doctrine holding that educators assume custody of students in school because they are deprived of protection from their parents or guardians. Educators stand in loco parentis or translated, in place of the parent.

The 4bn GBP figure is the total cost of renovating the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament).
The highest amount I could find, published in many sources, was 61m GBP for the cost of renovating the Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben).
Maria Kiselyova and Stephen Addison at Reuters didn't do their homework properly before publishing the story.

Can parents cope with rising school fees?
in Vietnam General Chat
Posted
"
Tuition fees for middle and high schools in Region 1 will gradually rise over the next three years to VND410,000, VND530,000, and VND650,000, respectively.
Now the monthly cost of education for the two children is a whopping VND5-6 million."
How did you come to that conclusion based on the figures in the article?
