American Tourist Arrested for Stabbing Incident in Chiang Mai
cjinchiangrai replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
What was the trigger? Knife attacks are never acceptable but neither is stuffing check bins. Regardless, I hope he enjoys his extended stay in Chiang Mai. -
You either need to have 400k in the bank for two months before you apply or 12 certified and stamped bank statements, dated the day of the application, showing transfers of at least 40k each and every month. Watch out for this in December if you are relying on the US Government to make deposits directly. The chaos caucus is planning on payment delays.

How long is a string? The actual milling job maybe 6000. The disassembly/assembly part could vary from 10k to 200k. Boring cylinders is going to be a lot more. No such thing as a head cylinder, but there are cylinder heads. Are you sure you know what you are doing?

Do any Farangs actually choose to live in Isaan?

Like nobody in the West ever moved to their wifes home town? The whole premise of this question is stupid. -
It is inherently unfair actually. The poorest people that are forced to spend 100% of their income pay the highest effective rate. The super rich might spend more but since the percentage of income spent is much lower, the effective tax rate is also much lower. The rich have been pushing for consumption taxes for decades and you just bought into the lies.

It was on the Senate schedule for a vote just before Covid. Expect to see it back shortly. I think they were going for full marriage. First in SE Asia. Not sure about foreigners. It might be OK to ratify foreign documents. At least it could show legal intent for wills, end of life and property rights.

Is there a Chiang Mai Forum? & wet markets for vegetables
cjinchiangrai replied to cubism001's topic in Chiang Mai
Try looking for forums first. There are vegetable markets everywhere but much of the product is commercially traded goods. Do not expect local crops to be "Organic". The farmers know all about fertilizers and pesticides. -
How to throw out my girlfriend's son out of the house?
cjinchiangrai replied to organicman's topic in Family and Children
You need to do it the normal eviction way. She needs to file a case against him and obtain a court order of eviction and a restraining order, then the police will handle it. The other option would be to rent him an apartment somewhere and pay him to live elsewhere. -
Foreigners Laud Free Thai Visa Policy for Chinese tourists
cjinchiangrai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As long as the overstay rate remains reasonable. India, no way. Malaysia tried that and had an overstay rate in the high 20%s. They cancelled the program amongst a lot of complaints by insulted Indian tourists.
