  1. I don’t wish to be rude but why don’t you actually ask Wise?
  2. Oh how right you are. Nearest big town to me is Nong Bua Lamphu (35km) then there’s Udon Thani (90km) and Khon Kaen (104 km). I am the only Farang in the village. Everyone knows me and I confess to not knowing many of them. I walk around the village ( exercise) and they all stop to chat (I speak Thai) (which is nice but adds an extra hour to my walk). They love to gossip I go for coffee every day, coffee shop is about 5km away someone from the village sees me and “reports back” to the missis who might I add is at work. They have actually called her to tell her where I am. The village jungle drums are constantly at work. One of the elder monks at the temple (300m from my home) took sick, was constipated, in pain and struggling to go “Poo Poo”. I have a great remedy for this problem “Psyllium husk” so I gave him 6 capsules to help free his bowels and stomach. Not long after the world fell out of his ass now the whole village knows I helped the monk and have commented on how the Farang is “jai dee” and I will definately be up for re-incarnation when my time comes. I just hope I have done enough not to come back as a buffalo.
  3. 38.5 year military career retired aged 55 vowing to never work again and I haven’t. Retired here in 2017, zero stress, never bored and happy living out in the sticks. I have a great life and no regrets.
  4. That’s exactly how it works for me. From the very beginning of the relationship (7 years in)she was told “ I am not an ATM” I will give you an allowance every month and every month you can do what you want with it. (Mum and dad get 5000 baht).Use it and there will be no more. I pay all the bills, all the food, travel expenses, we have built a house together but of course the reality is it’s hers and it works. She actually saves. Her parents want for nothing as two other sisters also contribute and they have never asked me for a baht. Getting married this year no sin sod required as they say I am good to her and have built a house. I guess I’m lucky but one thing I will say is before I got into any kind of relationship I was on these forums weighing up all the good and the bad with reference to Thai/Farang relationships and from the comments made I made my on own balanced decisions on how to proceed. So far so good.
  5. If you eat durian and take on alcohol at the same time you run a high risk of being poisoned by an increase in aldehyde.
  6. Durian is delicious just don’t eat it whilst drinking beer it’ll kill you.
  7. Mon Thong for me. Got used to the smell of durian and it doesn’t bother me. Love the taste and probably eat it 3 or4 times a week during the season.. It’s Jack fruit and dragon fruit that do nothing for me, tasteless.
  8. Don’t do it. If you take “ownership” without the green book what are you going to do if the actual owner claims you have stolen the bike. You lose the money you paid, you lose the bike and you could end up with a theft charge and later possibly deported. This really is a stupid idea there are tons of legitimate bikes for sale out there go and buy one of those and save yourself a whole heap of problems.
  9. Every year let’s pay this a bit more lip service and then…..do nothing about it. Go door to door all you want I somehow think the perpetrators will just ignore everything being said and just burn anyway. Same old same old.
  10. Have been following this with interest as I too am looking for a new service. Current service is generally good but of late it’s continually buffering on live tv and a few occasions when watching a series plus the guy who runs it is a self centered A’hole so I’ve had enough. I am aware of a cut cable under the sea which has been causing issues through many countries. Thought about iviewhd like you but put off by very bad reviews on trustpilot so I hope for you all is good over the coming months and you remain happy. My real interest is with Wizz tv but I don’t know anyone who has it as I have a few questions to ask and I would rather get peoples views from the “horses mouth” so to speak. Anyone out there totally happy with Wizz? Any buffering issues ( I know I need good internet and I have that). Is Wizz reliable? Grateful for genuine views good or bad. Thanks in advance.
  11. Don’t know for sure obviously but I would say a spider got ya. Two quite distinct “fang” marks close together suggests the possibility of a spider bite.
  12. Not experienced the same with a family member but would say it’s highly likely he has another woman/women a ladyboy or loves the freedom he has here. The fact he has been sending money here suggests he’s either banking it to fund his travels whilst he’s here or he is “sponsoring” someone. Whether you have lost him is not something any of us can answer.
