    Talent? Like who?

I don't think it's valid to go after someone's opinions based on where they live or hail from. Knowledge and ignorance are not bounded by borders. That said, I'm surprised that someone who has made so much of their Britishness and their believe that it automatically confers some kind of special superiority in discussion of that nation's politics, would so openly expose his ignorance of the American political scene.

Here are 2 names for you to contemplate:

Gretchen Whitmer, the popular Democratic governor of the swing state of Michigan.

Josh Shapiro, the popular Democratic governor of the swing state of Pennsylvania.

    More falsehoods from you:

Does an Image Show Ocasio-Cortez Fake-Crying at a Migrant Camp?

A picture taken in 2018 captured Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, before she was elected to the U.S. House, protesting a migrant-detention camp in Texas.

"But the claim that got the most attention, pushed by viral conspiracy and junk news websites, made unfounded accusations that the photographs of Ocasio-Cortez were fake and that she was actually crying over an empty parking lot. Russian state media outlet RT and ZeroHedge were among junk news sites taking a cue from Alex Jones' InfoWars network in that regard. The latter posted an unfounded story on June 24, 2019, that posited the "empty parking lot" conspiracy theory."

The US stating the obvious, although not so obvious for some members here.

US accuses Hamas of being ‘obstacle’ to Gaza truce after it rejected Israel’s proposal

Terror group said to give mediators a new draft, claims it can only free 20 ‘humanitarian’ hostages, demands permanent end to war, return to north Gaza for displaced civilians.

“The bottom line is that they have rejected it, and if they did accept it, it would allow for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza of at least six weeks, which would benefit the Palestinian people whom they claim to represent. It would also allow us to continue improvements in the delivery of humanitarian assistance,” said Miller.

“The bottom line is Hamas needs to take that deal, and they need to explain to the world and to the Palestinian people why they aren’t taking it because it is Hamas right now that is the barrier and the obstacle to a ceasefire in Gaza,” he said.

How could they be so blind? It's like someone who ignores the fact that the US has repeatedly reproached Israel for obstructing delivery of aid to the Palestinians in Gaza. Like someone who doesn't challenge the IDF and Cogat when it comes to this issue. I know, I know. I'm creating a fictional character. Nobody could be that naive.

Just as one would have expected, the cultish goobers are claiming "STOLEN!" as they watch the stock tumble, now down 71% from its first day high barely 2 weeks ago.

"Sick of MY investment money being stolen!!" one user wrote in a Truth Social post, as quoted by WaPo, accusing Wall Street of unfairly shorting the stock. "They’re stealing peoples [sic] money and you’re allowing it!!"

Others are so moronic they still believe, as Britney sang in "Do it to Me One More Time"

"I know good and well it’s in Trump’s hands, and he’s got plans," 71-year-old Oklahoma City native Jerry McClain, who invested in the stock, told WaPo. "I have no doubt it’s going to explode sometime." (I do think he meant "implode".

The "plans" trump has is what his plans always are: try to enrich himself off of his goobers idiocy, naivete and gullibility.

Still others claim (lying, trying to play the sweet lemon card) that they just wanted to help trump by giving him some of their money. (And if anyone believes that, they probably believe trump is innocent of the myriad of felony charges against him.)

"If I lose it, fine. If I make a profit, wonderful," prominent conservative commentator Carol Swain, who put in $1,000, told WaPo. "But at the end of the day, I wanted to show my support."

Yes, Carol Swain, the 'billionaire' messiah needs your $1000.

    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-supporters-horrified-value-truth-141358796.html

Well, we should all be grateful to Trump supporters like Carol Swain. Instead of donating that money to his campaign where it might materially help him, they chose to incinerate it instead.

Even if he had, it wouldn't fit his risk profile.  He'd rather have a decent return on a sure thing than bet on a huge return with a high risk.

What you don't seem to understand the role of the upside potential of a stock plays. Given the price of the stock on the first day, and the fact that its model was already failing with exiguous income and lowered engagement, why would any rational person buy and hold on that stock.?

Did you know that for all of 2023, Truth Social earned only about 50% more revenue than an average McDonald's?

How Much McDonald's Franchise Owners Really Make Per Year

"According to Business Insider, the average McDonald's restaurant takes in around $2.7 million a year in sales."

But then, McDonald's doesn't stuff their offerings with BS.

And  yet, despite all that discussion, you dismissed that point in this thread.

Wonder how Joe feels about the article?

I'm sure he is deeply, deeply concerned. After all, it was written by Douglas MacKinnon.

"Douglas MacKinnon, a former aide to President Ronald Reagan, said on Tuesday that Southern states should break with the U.S. and form their own nation based on values like opposition to homosexuality, and that his former boss would be the perfect namesake.

“For whatever reason the leaders that we’re picking are deciding not to stand firmly for traditional values,” MacKinnon told radio host Janet Mefferd. MacKinnon is currently promoting a book, “The Secessionist States of America: The Blueprint for Creating a Traditional Values Country … Now.”

Been a bit hasty there .

Looks like the war isn't over

Netanyahu has just announced there is an enter Rafah date

"Israel-Gaza latest: Hamas rejects latest ceasefire proposal - as 'date set' for Rafah ground offensive

Hamas has rejected Israel's latest ceasefire proposal, despite reports suggesting talks had been progressing well. Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu says a date has been set for a ground offensive in Rafah - which he has long been warned against."

You know, if you were citing most political leaders, I would have pointed out to you that putting lipstick on a pig is par for the course. But given that Benjamin Netanyahu is recognized far and wide for his moral probity and willingness to acknowledge his errors and failures no matter how gravely they might damage his political prospects, it's clear that in this case you have made an excellent point. In opposite world.

The header this forum says: Any alleged factual claims must be supported by a valid link to an approved credible source.

I guess you are an approved credible source.

Anyone like you who believes that prognostications about political outcomes can be factual must either believe in time travel or the infallibility of crystal balls. Any source that asserts such an outcome is a future fact is inherently not credible.

Making a prediction is inherently a matter of opinion.

You asked a question, I gave a reply, its really that simple to anyone reading this:

    image.png.0bff6b456a1831ec6b9fde3fb7a7bde7.png

Not only is that quote from a biased source, but if you actually think about what Kirby said, while it may be possible, nowhere does Kirby specify what it would take to accomplish that. Does Israel actually command the resources or the will to do it? Its economy was already severely hurt by just a few months of massive warfare. You seem to unreservedly believe that Israel has mostly withdrawn from Gaza as part of its strategy for victory. No scepticism at all on your part about that claim?

  11. 1 minute ago, Bkk Brian said:

Really? You claimed that a White House is an authoritative source.

Yes, but I know you don't like the answer to the question you asked.

What I said was to the effect that it's significant that the White House has backed way off its unqualified backing of Israel. That reality has forced it and Israel's other allies to qualify their support. Unlike you, they can no longer accept, for example, that Israel is not obstructing delivery of aid to Gaza. Of course, you may have changed your tune on that issue since the last time I dropped in on this forum. Or maybe you're still supporting the relevant Israeli authorities' laughable claim in that regard. Because to you, they are still authoritative. A pretty lonely position to hold.

  12. 1 minute ago, Bkk Brian said:

    Whataboutery nonsense

Really? You claimed that a White House is an authoritative source. Because by the very nature of being a spokesman for the White House, propositions will be advanced that would run counter to the favored political narrative? It is to laugh.

Which one of my predictions failed and which ignorance of mine was exposed ?

Haven't the time or inclination to go back. I do recall you blaming Islam for the hatred Palestinians feel for Israel and not recognizing at all  the relevance of Israel's brutal and rapacious treatment of Palestinians for the last 50+ years. That would be proof of your ignorance.
