So sad to see that Thai officials still are delusional reg. Chinese "quality tourists"... They only go to Chinese-owned shops, restaurants and attractions, and - apart from 7Eleven, feeding the ever greedy and monopolistic CP Food company - they don't spend a dime that truly would help the Thai economy. On top of it all, China - while suppressing their own citizens back then in early 2020, welding them shut into buildings with severe lockdowns, etc. - allowed outward international travel to continue, so that C19 could be carried all over the world, to then kick in recovery mode while the rest of the world is on the brink of collapse. Imho, Chinese tourists should be banned worldwide until China pays dearly for the damage they have caused, and this whole Wuhan thing should be looked into by uncorrupted international investigators (did I really write that - it's an oxymoron, isn't it?)... And that's all I have to say to this!

And the island will be full of cars...

Never heard of car ferries, did you? What do you think the favoured form of transport there is on Koh Lanta? Rikschas? Cattle carts? Skate boards??? ????

Don't worry - when I was still living on Koh Lanta - some 29 years ago - everyone told me, "Man, would you believe it, next year the bridge is coming, the briiiidgee is coming, man!!!!" I renamed that elongated no-fun rock to "Koh Chuck Wow" after an agonizing year of asking myself, "What the F am I doing here?" and moved to greener pastures, a.k.a. Phuket Island.
Visited a Lantanian friend of mine several years later... Guess what he told me, "Man, would you believe it, next year the bridge is coming, finally - the briiiidgee is coming, maaaan!!!!".
Then, in 2007 I had the immense pleasure to visit that island again as a close friend started a property business there... He gave me amazing news, "Man, would you believe it!!! Next year the bridge is coming, the briiiidgee is coming, man!!!!"...
2016, I met another Lantanian at a funeral of a good old friend of mine who unfortunately took his final breath on that god forsaken stretch of sand and coral rubble... He went, "Man, even I can't believe it, but would you? Next year the bridge is coming, the briiiidgee is coming, man!!!!" ...
Now, I see this "News" article and all I can do is to just laugh out loud and roll about on the floor - it's hilarious!!!- 3

"Ground control to Major Som, you did forget your Khao Tom..." ???? ???? ????
Oh, how I MISSED those "hub of..." articles. Made my day!!!!- 1

Well, with plans like this on the table (or on the teleprompter), I hope for this brittle ol' bloke that his team will find the haunted "magical" graveyard near Stephen King's pet cemetery in time...

Why don't they wait until people have been vaccinated
And the Corivirus numbers around the world are decreasing
Then maybe come out with some realistic future numbers on when tourists will be arriving here in Thailand ?
We are hearing different numbers daily with out any good reasons why
OMG!!! Another one ( Corivirus ) coming? Damn, we've not even made it half way over the old one... ???? -
Oldest trick in the book of Siam - hit, run, have a good night's sleep to sober up, take a shower, have a proper breakfast, then report to your kind police station of choice...
As long as this is regarded as trivial offense in Thailand, nothing will change ☠️ -
Apart from the disgusting aftertaste this topic provides, I see a lot of potential... Let's see... 50 year record, 18m worm...
That's
50
18 for the two ending numbers
185
518
509 for the triage...
UNDGRD lottery, here I come! ????

Last night I did a poll with a single Thai citizen, and guess what - that nice lady opened up to me like there's no tomorrow and let me in, hence I'd say that poll is a 100% legit.

Just wait until Klaus Schwab and friends have made all of the western nations even happier via their "Grrrrreat Rrrrreset"... Quote: "You'll own nothing, but you will be happy." Let's see how that pans out and what the rankings will say around 2030 ????

Gulag, hard 12 hour a day labour in a mine for life without parole, would have been more sufficient. Death penalty is too humane for subhumans like these...

If that was my own son - teacher would receive the exact same treatment by my very hands.
If that was my own daughter - teacher would spend an hour with me in a secluded location and would arrive back home in a wheel chair.
It's about time that this all stops in Thai schools. The best way to do that would be to introduce real teachers with an iQ above average who are in full command of the topics they are teaching (will be very difficult for English I guess), so the pupils would show them respect not out of fear but for the reason that their teacher is "a truly gifted and able fountain of knowledge and wisdom"... Had to chuckle, typing the final sentence since it is quite obvious that such persons don't exist in the hub of mistreatment of students... And if, they would certainly not become teachers and find a well-paid job overseas. And round and round it goes, the carousel of "mediokerism" ... Catch 22 situation I'd say.- 1

Well, this is what you get if you treat potential long term foreign guests/clients like sewer rats.

I was asking myself that same question, but regarding iQ...

Surely large capacity cargo carrying submarines would solve the problem. Load up in the Gulf of Thailand, submerge, sail under the peninsular, surface in the Andaman Sea, unload...repeat. Are there no forward thinkers in this government?......????
Rest assured that some of the officials involved in signing and... ahemmm "planning" will emerge heavily loaded, once this sucker has been constructed ????
BTW - love your signature line! My missus added, our Duo could generate enough "free" energy to even light up planet Mars ???? -
BTW - I very much doubt that any of those "hub planners" put some thoughts on possible sea elevation differences and/or impact on reefs, marine life and nature... Hopefully, someone told them that this canal construction will a bit more demanding than doing a root canal surgery on a rotten tooth...

Man, how I missed those good old "hub" articles... -
Another day in the office... Looks like both drivers were at fault equally - mini van much too fast, pickup cutting in... Sounds like a draw to me. RIP, poor passengers and quick recovery to the injured. Another senseless Thai road slaughter ????

It was actually an under water grafitty, carved into a coral head, if I remember correctly. For a Chinese, ignorance is pure bliss when it comes to protection of nature, empathy, sustainability and quality...
