The nausea is caused from bile being blocked or restricted, i had this for 5-10 years.

You only get pain when a gallstone blocks the bile duct allowing bacteria from the gut to grow back and infect (10 years to get to this stage for me).

And the pain is unbelievable when it happens.

i changed my lifestyle, lost a lot of weight, exercised much more and over a 2 year period all the symptoms went.

Been problem free for 6 years now (although the quick fix is to get your gall bladder removed).

    Thanks

I was just about to ask you this ..

Just out of curiosity , what treatment did you undergo to treat your gallstone problem .

So to treat your gallstone problem you never underwent any surgery or drug treatment ?

In my case I have the feeling of being nauseous all the time , it never really  goes away .

I'd go with this, gallstones made me constantly feel sick (worse at bedtime) and changed the colour of my poop.

Cost me 200bht for the ultrasound in a government hospital.

General  doctors often miss gallstones, but the Ultrasound doctor/operator won't.

    Thanks for your comment .????

    I don’t experience any pain any where , so I researched …

can you have gallstones without pain.

And came up with this …

Gallstones themselves don't cause pain. Rather, pain occurs when the gallstones block the movement of bile from the gallbladder. According to the American College of Gastroenterology, 80 percent of people have “silent gallstones.” This means they don't experience pain or have symptoms.

So the gallstones theory may be correct , even though I do have the nauseous symptoms .

  3. Thanks Sheryl for your reply , its appreciated .

The hospital where I saw the doctor underwent the tests is called the Suranaree University of Technology Hospital situated in Korat . The doctor I saw was not a GI specialist but a general doctor.

The doctor showed my the blood test results on his computer monitor , I remember the doctor saying that your liver is fine with no problems , but I can’t definitely say what was included in the blood test results.

Thinking back to when I first started to feel nauseous I just assumed that I had contracted mild food poisoning and as I had done in the past , I bought some activated charcoal capsules from 7-11 , hence my dark stool appearance.

I am not taking any regular medications other than the one’s the doctor prescribed.

During my conversation in English with the doctor , I think he mentioned some thing about undergoing an endoscope examination .

The doctor gave me two future appointments , the first one in two weeks time where he asked me to provide a new stool sample , I now think that my dark stools were due to me taking some activated charcoal capsules . And at that next appointment in two weeks time depending on how I was feeling  at that time the doctor would then if my symptoms had not improved , would ask me to undergo further tests , which tests he was talking about I am not too sure .

The second appoint the doctor made for me was to be in two months time , when I asked the doctor what that appointment would  be for , he said a new blood test.

One thing that sticks out in my mind is the fact that if I eat a large meal ( my appetite has not diminished ) shortly after consuming the food my nausea symptoms seem to disappear for several hours .

As my feeling nauseous has not diminished , the best thing I can think of is to return to the same doctor before my next booked appointment in two weeks time and outline again my still feeling nauseous symptoms to the doctor , and then ask to be referred to a GI specialist .

One thought I just had , as its only 4 days since I saw the doctor and stated the medication , would it be prudent to wait a few more days to see if my symptoms may improve . I’m not sure .

The  Suranaree University of Technology Hospital  I attended was well run and modern and I have no complaints relating to my visit there and the professional way I was treated .

    Thanks .

  4. For around 20 days I had been feeling constantly nauseous , just that feeling but never ever actually vomited I also noticed that on the day before I went to see the hospital doctor my feces ( stools ) were darker than normal .

This is what I told the hospital doctor ....

    1. Every day feeling nauseous ( no vomiting )
    2. Blood pressure within the normal range ( taken with my home blood pressure machine ) .
    3. Urine color looks normal ( No blood seen )
    4. No stomach pains / stomach ache
    5. Stool looks darker than normal ( No blood seen )
    6. I seem to be belching more that normal.
    7. Since I had started to feel nauseous I had stopped drinking alcohol.
9 . Since I had started to feel nauseous I had stopped eating all spicy foods.
    10. Since I had started to feel nauseous I had stopped drinking coffee .
    10. I had not started to eat any different foods / fruits .
    11. I have no headaches .
    12. I am not taking any kind of drugs .
    13. After eating a large meal my symptoms (  feeling nauseous ) temporally disappear.
    14. 10 years ago I suffered from bad reflux acid and I underwent surgery  ( Nissen fundoplication ) to stop the reflux acid , which the surgery did.

The doctor said I had to undergo the following below - Results in brackets (  )

    A. Physical examination of my stomach area. ( No issues found )
    B. Blood test - 4 vials of blood were taken. ( Blood test results showed high cholesterol , every thing else was within the normal range) .
    C. A stool sample .( stool sample results were negative ) .
    D. An ECG test - electrocardiogram . ( results were normal ) .

When the doctor gave me the test results , I asked him why do you think my stool looked darker that normal , he said he did not know. I then asked him what do you think may be the ongoing cause that is making me feel nauseous every day . His answer was , at this point he was not certain .

The doctor then prescribed the following drugs .

    1. Simethicone 80mg  ( Simeticone, is an anti-foaming agent used to reduce bloating, discomfort or pain caused by excessive gas. )

    2. Domperidone 10mg ( Domperidone is an anti-sickness medicine. It helps you to stop feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting).

3.Omeprazole 20mg ( a medication used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease ) .

Its now been 4 days since seeing the hospital doctor and I started to take the prescribed drugs . The feeling of nauseous has not gone away , but  my stool color has returned to normal.

The thing worrying me relating to the prescribed drugs is this, only one of them ( Omeprazole ) is a drug that can possibly treat the issue that may be making me feel nauseous , the other two prescribed drugs ( Simethicone + Domperidone ) are just drugs that make you feel better.

I’m now getting even more concerned there is still some thing that is causing me to feel nauseous on a daily basis , and I’m now wondering if its too soon after my first doctors appointment
to make a new appointment to go and see the same doctor right away , or just wait things out until my next all ready book appointment in two weeks time.

Any thoughts / suggestions about the feeling nauseous symptoms / advice , would be welcome.

    Thanks .

  5. I thought I would not post any thing back until the wife's father situation changed . Well as the wife's father’s symptoms again returned so he once more  went to see doctor pajamas for a forth time, on this visit he was taken to the doctors house by some one in his village who also wanted to get some ‘’ pills ‘’ for a medical complaint they had.  On this 4th visit the wife's father was again given a small plastic bag containing pills , and once more the doctor advised father not to eat any sea food , beef or bamboo and to stop drinking alcohol and according to what my wife was told by her father this time the doctor did not comment on his symptoms or mention any thing about father going to hospital .  This time instead of charging father 2,500.00 Baht for the small bag of pills , he was charged 1,500.00 Baht

Over the following weeks her father took the pills and told my wife that he was starting to feel better and in fact he had recommended doctor pajamas to several people in his village. The 1,500.00 Baht pills finally ran out and within a few weeks father’s same symptoms again returned . Father decided to go and ask an old woman who lives in a nearby village for advice about his symptoms , this old woman had a local reputation for being able to predict peoples future and communicate with the spirits . It turned out that this old fortune telling woman’s cousin owned a clinic in another village a few hours away from fathers village .

So on the old fortune telling woman’s advice father made the two hours journey to her cousins clinic . My wife was not asked by her father to take him to this clinic , but instead he was taken by another neighbour . I can sense some sort of friction between my wife and her father and I thinks its all some thing to do with her father’s repeated visits to village clinics and refusal to go to hospital.

So father went for the first time to this new village clinic , and from what my wife has found out that clinic was in a small village and situated in a row of shop houses. It's not known what sort of diagnostic tests the doctor carried out on father but the total cost including , yes a small plastic bag of pills was 200 Baht.

This time the ‘’ shop house ‘’ doctor told father that his medical problem was some thing called tuberculosis . The doctor made no mention to father of going to a hospital , he only said father should return to see him if he needed more pills.

So father is currently taking his new 200 Baht pills and only time will tell how things are going to progress .

I’m going to now check out a bit more about tuberculosis and see what having that medical condition entails and what the future may hold for father.

    The saga continues .

  6.

I purchased a new WiFi camera and followed the instructions to set it up using an Android app on my mobile phone . I tried for several days to get this new WiFi camera working but in the end I gave up . So I decided to have a look inside the camera unit just in case some thing appeared to be broken. One area that impressed me when I went to purchase this WiFi camera was its 3 antennas which I thought would be a bonus .

When I removed the base cover of the WiFi camera to check out if any thing was broken the first thing that struck me was the connection wires from the 3 antennas appeared to have been cut and were not connected to the cameras main printed circuit board.

Would having the connection wires from the 3 antennas cut , be some thing normal when the camera unit was manufactured . Or am I missing some thing ?.

  7. Sorry to hijack this thread but if some kind person could offer advice I would be most great full.

So Ive read through the comments but I’m still wondering what's the best thing to do?

I have 3 individual home computers each running a different operating system......

Computer 1 – running Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon
    Computer 2 – running Mac OS X Mojave 10.14.6
    Computer 3 – running Windows 10.

I have just purchased a brand new Western Digital 2TB external USB drive from Big C that was on special offer .

I would like to store photographs and a range of miscellaneous items like zip files / .ods denouements / pdf documents / etc on this new Western Digital 2TB external USB drive.

I would like to if possible to access all the stored content on this new Western Digital 2TB external USB drive using 2 of the computers shown below.....

Computer 1 – running Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon
    Computer 2 – running Mac OS X Mojave 10.14.6

I’m still a bit hazy as to which format protocol to use to re format this new USB external drive to allow it to be fully useable on both computer 1 and 2.

I think I can use any of the above 3 computers to re format the new drive .

The new drive is still in its box and I have not yet plugged it into any computer.

I’m looking for advice as I don’t want to end up messing up the new external drive and in the end making it unusable.????.

    Thanks.

  8. Ive had a several recent personal health issues my self , so sorry for not replying to every one , your thoughts and comments are thankfully received.

Well today my Thai wife received yet another telephone call from her father , he was again complaining of ‘’ no power ‘’ . According to my wife her father was finding it difficult to carry out any simple physical activity, like doing his normal daily routine of tending to his garden or walking down the Soi to see a neighbour . He was not complaining of being out of breath , just that he felt a lack of physical stamina and the ability to do things that he use to do without a problem before this episode of feeling ill started. So my self and wife went to see her father , who I had not personally seen for a while . I was a bit shocked at fathers gaunt looking face and obvious loss of weight appearance .

Through my wife translating I tried to understand what her father was saying in respect to the , I don’t want to go to hospital situation. One thing that became very apparent was father is steadfast and adamant  that in no way will he step foot in a hospital. As far as I could understand father had in the past some sort of experience  while being treated in a hospital after getting bitten by some sort of insect while out working in a field , his foot became swollen and bloated , so at that time he went to a local government hospital for treatment . He was admitted to an open general ward and underwent a few days of inpatient drug treatment . While laying in the hospital bed he became sort of friends with a man in the next bed , and according to my wife that man in the next bed some how scared father into believing that all hospitals were very bad places to end up in . As father was discharged on the same day the man in the next bed who father had become friendly with  , passed away in the hospital.

That experience father had listening to the man in the next bed talk about hospitals were bad places to be , and the fact the man died in hospital,  I think some how stuck in fathers mind and set into motion fathers statement , don’t want to go to a hospital .

So now here we go again , father has again asked my wife to take him back to see the same doctor ( doctor pajamas ) so he can ask for more of the same pills that doctor pajamas prescribed to him in the previous visits ( 3 ) so far costing a total of 7,500 Baht.. According to father each time after taking those pills he started to feel better and his power started to return . Some time after the pills had run out fathers past symptoms then started to return . This is where Thai logic in my view goes off the rails. So father has so far been to see ‘’ doctor pajamas ‘’ on three separate occasions and doctor pajamas on all those past occasions prescribes a set of pills costing 2,500 Bah per set .

Father on each occasion took the pills and started to feel generally better , but soon after the set of pills came to an end , father’s same symptoms slowly started to return. Then father once again wanted to feel better so off back to doctor pajamas for yet another set of magic pills . So in my view the pills prescribed by doctor pajamas only acted like some sort of temporary answer by removing fathers symptoms but did not actually do any thing to finally cure the medical issue that was causing the reoccurring symptoms. The thing I can’t understand is why father after 3 past separate visits to doctor pajamas and paying out 7,500 Baht , still believes the if he goes back to a fourth  time to ask for more pills , which will only make him feel temporarily better , is the right thing to do , and that forth coming visit will mean father will have so far paid doctor pajamas a total of 10,000.00 Baht , not including the 1,000.00 Baht paid for a natural herbal remedy.

Sadly my wife when it comes to any thing involving in some way disagreeing with her father ,  she just tends to be a bit timid and always seems to agree with what ever her father is saying . Added to that while we were at her fathers house several of the Thai neighbours popped in and from what my wife said , those neighbours all agreed with fathers notion that being in hospital is a bad thing.

Its going to be interesting to see what will happen when my wife once again takes her father back to doctor pajamas, you would think that father going back for a fourth visit , then doctor pajamas will realize that some thing is wrong and instead of prescribing another set of 2,500.00 Baht pills the doctor will finally say to father , its time you went to hospital. I wonder what will happen .
