  1. Biden cooperated with the authorities. Trump hid classified documents in response to a subpoena.
  2. What's your point? Is it that CO2 is about 400 ppm in the atmosphere, so it's not significant? According to ACGIH [1971], Patty [1963] reported that hydrogen cyanide at 110 to 135 ppm (120 to 150 mg/m3) might be fatal to man after 0.5 to 1 hour or later, or dangerous to life; 45 to 54 ppm (50 to 60 mg/m3) could be tolerated for 0.5 to 1 hour without immediate or late effects
  3. Climate scientist Michael Mann wins defamation case against conservative writers "Michael Mann, among the world's most renowned climate scientists, won a defamation case in D.C. Superior Court against two conservative writers. Mann, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, had sued Rand Simberg, a policy analyst, and Mark Steyn, a right-wing author, for online posts published over a decade ago, respectively, by the Competitive Enterprise Institute and the National Review". Strangely enough, I know Rand Simberg quite well.
  4. Or you have an inability to understand the difference between cooperating with authorities, and hiding documents from the authorities.

  6. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/fbi-agent-mcgonigal-pleads-guilty-russian-oligarch-rcna100073 Head of the FBI Southern District of NY during the 2016 election.
  7. I am not claiming that Biden declassified any documents in his possession.
  8. Climate can change due to natural forces, or human factors. Do you disagree?
  9. Repeating a lie does not make it true. Unless you believe Joseph Goebbels: "Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth”.
  10. Yep. Biden has to demonstrate he is with the program between now and the Democratic convention.
  11. This is now a mental health issue for you. The Presidential Records Act not only doesn't protect Trump, it forbids a president from taking documents after they leave office: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_Records_Act# "Establishes that Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the Archivist as soon as the President leaves office." Also, there is no provision in the PRA that protects the president from being charged over possession of classified documents. As I said, this is a mental health issue, since the provisions of the PRA are widely known. So, you can respond in several ways: The rational response is to prove me wrong, and failing that, admit you are wrong. The crazy way is to double down, without proof. Maybe throw in an insult. Or, simply ignore your error. The last 2 alternatives are for particularly crazy trolls.
  12. You don't believe the Special Counsel when he explained the difference between Biden and Trump in their handling of classified documents? https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/02/08/why-trump-was-charged-biden-wasnt-according-special-counsel/ “It is not our role to assess the criminal charges pending against Mr. Trump, but several material distinctions between Mr. Trump’s case and Mr. Biden’s are clear,” the report reads. “Unlike the evidence involving Mr. Biden, the allegations set forth in the indictment of Mr. Trump, if proven, would present serious aggravating facts.” “Most notably,” it continues, “after being given multiple chances to return classified documents and avoid prosecution, Mr. Trump allegedly did the opposite. According to the indictment, he not only refused to return the documents for many months, but he also obstructed justice by enlisting others to destroy evidence and then to lie about it.” In contrast, the report continues, Biden cooperated fully.
  13. What's your source? A talking point you saw on FOX? Fact check: Biden did have the authority to declassify documents as vice president
  14. Most of the documents in question were Biden's handwritten notes.
  15. Yes, there are global effects, such as warming and sea level rise. The problem is seeing the weather impacts on specific areas.
  16. It's not clear that the current weather is part of a long term trend. Part of the problem is that the impacts of climate change are unpredictable. Its not just warming, it could changrs in rainfall.
  17. I think its too early to conclude that California wildfires are caused by climate change. The fires are prompted by heavy winter rains and low summer rainfall. It is not clear that climate change is causing more winter rains or summer droughts. In the past decade, California has had years with both record-high and record-low precipitation – swings consistent with climate change projections. Notably, 2012 to 2015 set a record for the driest consecutive four-year period, while 2017 was one of the wettest years on record.
  18. You are displaying a lack of knowledge about climate. Human civilization was developed in a very narrow climate band. If the climate warms out of that band, many will suffer. The temperatures and sea level you mention happened before our civilization existed. If sea levels increase by 100 meters, many would suffer.
  19. Not a great legal defense for the insurrectionists - "other people committed crimes, too".
  20. Others here claim the 2020 election was stolen. Do you agree with them?
  21. Trump Extremists Brought Numerous Guns on January 6, Evidence Shows
  22. Your post illustrates that you don't understand any of this. Hillary was not complaining about voter fraud in 2016. Instead, she complained about Russian interference in the election. Every election has some amount of fraud and glitches, but not enough to impact the result. But you claim that the 2020 election was stolen, although you offer no proof. I do have proof of attempted fraud in 2020 - Trump tried to convince the Georgia Secretary of State to find 11,000 votes for him.
  23. The impacts of climate change are on the poor. Rising sea levels cause displacement of poor people. Drought most impacts the poor. Flooding mostly impacts the poor.
  24. Your point is that CO2 levels must be contained within a narrow band to maintain our civilization.
  25. The loss of nuclear is problematic, but no one has developed a truly safe and non-polluting nuclear system.
