Pattaya Officials Attend Thai Festival in Moscow
AustinRacing replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Wonder how many business deals were discussed directly with Mafia bosses operating in pattaya. -
Pattaya Traffic Police Crack Down on Arab Groups
AustinRacing replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The root cause here is lawlessness with respect to road rules. Thais don’t generally care, police generally don’t care, so why do you expect tourists to care? Land of the band-aid solutions. -
I prefer showering every time I go out wearing a fresh shirt each time. No need for deodorant. Nothing worse than passing a sweaty tourist wearing a 100B fake designer shirt he bought 2 days ago, still wearing it, uses loads of deodorant to mask the smell of new shirt chemical and BO. The combo is like a wmd (weapon of mass deterrent). One reason Thais don’t like non-Thais, many of my Thai friends here often talk about it.

All mega-projects now require strategic environment assessment
AustinRacing replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They sure like using big words. Fruits of junkets to developed nations as part of learning programs. When it comes to implementation step they run out of juice like many other initiatives. -
Thai universities investigated over alleged research plagiarism
AustinRacing replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It’s about self pride which is not a common value in most Asian countries. It’s about having something and how you get it is not important. -
Chonburi orders strict control over roaming Arab groups in the city
AustinRacing replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Why do we not hear tourists in other parts of the world behave this way? Because they see lawlessness in particular driving related. Xenophobic of Thai police to target tourists for driving stupidity when their own people to exactly the same. -
Chinese influencer praises Thailand’s VIP experience on elite visa
AustinRacing replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It was a paid advertisement. Could’ve made it more authentic and believable. -
Well apparently boob is a 1 and baby is a 1. I suppose if there were two babies each sucking on a boob the numbers would be 22. Then again What do I know about Thai traditions????????

Payment before doing a job?
AustinRacing replied to AustinRacing's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
That’s the kind of thing I was expecting and articulated it to them. Their reply was it is their company policy. They contacted us about payments a couple of times so they can set up a meeting to discuss details. Money first in my opinion is not a good way to start a working relationship. Well they lost our business but I don’t think they learn anything from it. Thai tunnel vision mentality with little foresight is something I encounter here too often. -
Payment before doing a job?
AustinRacing replied to AustinRacing's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I see your point. I did offer some payment upfront. The issue is they may be less committed to work hard if they’ve already been paid full in advance. I’ve heard many stories about contractors getting paid in advance and not showing up as agreed. “My mother is sick I can’t come in this week” etc. I told them I’m going with another company. It didn’t phase the guy. -
Payment before doing a job?

I would’ve paid them for the full month irrespective of their performance. After all it was going to be a trial. The continuation would’ve been based on their performance. -
Payment before doing a job?
AustinRacing replied to AustinRacing's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yes we are a limited company with all the documentation. I understand them wanting some assurance that we will pay. For that reason I suggested a deposit. I also told them if they do a good job we will continue to work with them. They wanted full payment before even the first meeting. It just didn’t sit well with me. -
We’re looking for a marketing company to help us with online marketing. Want to do a one month trial to see how it goes and if it works we’ll continue. A company is interested but they want full payment before they do any work. I suggested a deposit and full payment at the completion. They refused, so did we. What do you think re paying in full before any work is done in similar situations.

Beach beating: Thai transwomen assault foreigners in Pattaya
AustinRacing replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
They admitted to working as prostitutes. Arrest them then why don’t you? -
I did some research a couple of years ago. Fortuner, crv, Everest, cx8, pajero to name a few. The winner was Everest so I bought one. Fortuner has a cheap interior and poor quality. The two foldable back seats are awkward, rattle later on and take up too much space in my view.

Restaurant owner confronts negative reviewer at their home
AustinRacing replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I wouldn’t go to that restaurant. The owner seems a nut job. -
Finding a good woman in Thailand is really a lottery, isn’t it. With all the “acting” they put up to lure you in, hard to tell how good they are post-wedding. My first Thai turned out to be no-good. I think I’ve won the lottery this time. Then again we’re in the 7-year itch period. ????

Not a regular player, she won 4K with 11 today. Do you know why I chose 11, she said? Here we go I thought. A dream, car accident number plate? Go on then. I had a dream last night. A baby sucking on my nipple drinking milk. In Thai tradition baby and milk from mother are represented by number1, so I chose 11. I didn’t know that. That’s great well done, I said. Didn’t have the heart to tell her it wasn’t a baby sucking on her nipple last in a dream. The sucking on the nipple was accurate but there was no baby involved, although she calls me baby from time to time.
