And they wonder why the Thai Police are tryiong to crack down on the Thai Trans people - the ones that 'work' in the 'entertainment' industry are criminally violent mentally deranged people. Never ever get involved in anything they do to themselves. If they are attacking an Expat women, and if you are young and strong and only if you can fight, then by all means maybe get in there - but not if you are one of us old blokes - those Trans are men and most of them can all fight (Mua Thai style).
Well said those Trans are men !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All trans are men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many here saying these murderers should be murdered by the state to prevent them going back on the streets and killing again.
What does life in prison without parole mean? Think about it. Take all the time you need.
It means (to me at least) that these murdering scum will NEVER have a life outside of prison, which is more on a par with those they have murdered who will also never have a life again. Why should a murderer ever have something more than his/her victim will have? If the victim is dead, then so should the murderer be too!

Stupid comment!!!!!!!!

I would imagine there would not be so much support for death sentences if, in cases that would otherwise warrant a death sentence, the guilty party was sentenced to WHOLE LIFE IMPRISONMENT, in harsh and not holiday camp conditions, with absolutely no parole EVER for any reason.

A death sentence is given to those who themselves act in a barbaric and inhumane way towards their victims. Provided there is indisputable proof of their guilt, ie CCTV, caught in the act etc, then keep it, and reintroducce the death penalty in other countries. As for deterring crime, those who are executed will never offend again!

Nor do murderers, terrorists, those that commit crimes possessing deadly weapons and child abusers amongst many others!

Sunday is a huge day up in Buriram with the last day of MotoGP, when thousands of visitors/tourists will be watching. Alas no beer! Does the government want tourists or not?

Those that want to abstain from alcohol on this day or the preceeding 3 months have done so. Don't inflict religious beliefs and restrictions on everyone. Not all Thais believe in Buddhism these days and many of those that do will be drinking as usual.

I have just returned from the Queen Sirikit Heart Hospital having had an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD)inserted. This is more than just a straightforward pacemaker.
I was operated on at 4pm, and it took 2.5 hours. I was discharged the following morning, and have to return later this week for a check-up.
The device + the 3 cables connections which are threaded through veins to the heart chamber cost in excess of 350,000bt, with the op, meds etc costing another 95,000baht
The devuce was required as my heart rhythm was irregular, and not pumping blood in sufficient quantities resulting in me blacking out.
Hopefully this device will do its job, monitoring the lower left heart chamber and sending signals to speed up as and when required,
Two and half years on, I'm still here, and the device is working perfectly, according to the hospital, whom I have just visited for my 6 monthly check up. Doctor said my heart is working quite normally. Picked up 6 months supply of required meds - far cheaper than available locally

Anyone committing a criminal offence with threats using a gun or other deadly weapon (eg knife) deserves a death sentence. Should be mandatory!

Back in the days when I was at school, a Catholic Grammar Schol in North London UK. I was not indoctrinated, but told all sorts of nonsense about God and Jesus and how they would always be there to help those that believed. Utter nonsense. Nobody was or now is ever there. That applies to all the other "Gods" of other religions too. . PEOPLE Stop being so gullible! Think for yourselves!

Regardless of blame , it is high time that anyone fleeing the scene following an accident receives a mandatory prison sentence. New government.....time to finally get tough.

Thaiger says "The Norwegian man is in police custody and has been charged with premeditated murder. The penalty is death, life imprisonment or 15 to 20 years imprisonment.
Rather ridiculous alternatives to ones possible guilt! Take someones life deliberately, and a death penalty is the only acceptable punishment!

I understood that initially the embassy of your home country will be notified and the next of kin. We can register that.
Then they will contact the kids in the home country and they will be inheriting you possessions unless they refuse and in that case the wife, if no further family in your home country will be the beneficiary
All of that, including IF the kids will refuse, can be prevented with a will/testament. It will take some time but the money will come directly to the right place
I choose to put every possession in Thailand, including savings, in our Thai daughter her name, only the visa cash is in my name...... the remainder is in the home country for the kids there (well kids...)

Without a Will in Thailand, half of Thai assets go to family in home country and half to wife in Thailand
With regard to assets in the home country, different countries have different rules re intestacy. In the UK a wife automatically inherits all assets up to a very high amount. Many other countries include provision for "children" - age immaterial.
A simple Will ensures ones money and other assets goes where one wants

Many amphurs, where deaths are registered, are now quite helpful and will issue an official death certificate in English. I emphasise MANY but sadly not all.

Just be off with the cretin. An old school panel of three judges, or something to that effect. If there is enough evidence, eye witnesses, or sufficient forensic proof, why should the state, the people, and the families have to be made to suffer?
I truly believe there are lines in life, when stepped over, create a self revocation of the right to consume oxygen. So, why allow him to continue to live?
Totally Agree.

Whether or not the insurance pays following a suicide, the ex gf would only benefit if she was named as a beneficiary. Any open ended life assurance policy would be dealt with under the terms of any Will, or laws of intestacy, and girlfriends are not included in the latter

The way UK passports are renewed from Thailand. The UK passport office tells us to cut the corner off the passport ourselves once the new passport is received. As mentioned the passport office cancel lost/out of date passports.
UK passports renewed in Thailand have to be done so via VFS. They submit applications and after time receive the new passport. In order to collect the new passport, the holder, or someone acting on their behalf, has to submit the old passport, WHICH IS THEN CANCELLED AND CORNER CUT BY VFS. The UK passport Ofice tells you nothing!!!!!!!.

But seriously, not 100/200bt fine.
Have a 1 month advertising blitz, then fine everyone not wearing a helmet 10,000bt (whether 1,2 3 or 4 on the bike) AND confiscate the bike for minimum 1 month. Turbans not accepted. A helmet or walk!
