The woman quoted in the article probably reflects the general attitude of the local parent drivers: Agree it's a good idea but wait and see to if they can just carry on and avoid the fines somehow.
They don't understand each time the kiddos are in the car, they're playing Russian roulette with the lives of the children.
In the US, not putting the children in the seat is unthinkable anymore and equates to child abuse. Ironically, even the idiots that bake their kids in hot cars always have them strapped in in car seats.

What soft power do they really think they possess? They are just as dillutional on this as everything else. "Quality" tourists when they are desperate for Indian visitors? Laughable!

Korean "soft' power projects an aura of credibility and substance that comes from a solid foundation. They are the 10th largest of economy (from NOTHING but hard work with no natural resources) despite being about 1/4 of the size of Thailand. The Koreans are world class in
- Ship building (#1)
- Construction (They built the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, a Petronas Tower in Malaysia, the just-opened 1915 Canakkale Bridge in Turkey, etc.)
- Sports (they're competitive in just about everything)
- Classical music
- Military strength and hardware production
The list can go on and on. It's laughable Thailand even dares to be compared with Korea, or any other first world country. They have a long way to go.

A bit of context in the article would have been helpful. What is Minor and who is this guy? Never heard of either.

Just paid 400 for a basic haircut at a walk-in barbershop in Ari. Even at that price, the place had a continuous flow of customers with 2 or 3 on the waitlist for their 6 stations. Mostly local young men in their 20s and 30s. The place is raking it in big time. As for the haircut, no different than my normal 5-minute 120 baht cuts except the butt-in-chair time here was longer. The barber was careful and deliberate (slow) for the similar result. I noticed these 300-400 baht barbershops are cropping up everywhere now.

???? Dunno much about the teams - soccer, I presume - but the article itself was an entertaining read.

What does "sacked" mean in the story's context? Lifetime ban? Writings in some of these posts make me want the scribes sacked.

I can't laugh too much about this headline because my former president said drinking bleach helps. ????
My GF says Thais are less susceptible to COVID because they eat pla ra. The Indians claimed the same because of curry and the Koreans kimchi.

Unbelievable how these things are keep happening on a regular basis. The cops are not to serve and protect but they seem to be a menacing and a net-negative element of the Thai society. If defunding police was ever a good idea anywhere, Thailand would be the place.

Us all too powerful Farang with influence in Thailand should be fully prepared when Thailand completely switches to union pay, just like Russia. It's not going to be Russians that will be "stranded".

That'll be a Siberian-cold day in Thailand. That must be some real good Russian vodka you're drinking.
Not gonna happen because that'll require Thailand to take sides. ????

I think the same for Europe but I am in the extreme minority and anyway it is too late now.
It's not about taking sides but rather standing up to what is right. If ethics and morals wasn't part of your cultural value system, you won't understand. General Chinese and Russian behaviors we witness in Thailand demonstrate that.

Yes! I have no doubt they would.
They have no sense of morality. It's about 'how to self-preserve and possibly benefit' to them.

Russia is recognizing Taiwan as a "country?" You'd think this would enrage China.

The 27 year old quoted would have been a teenager barely out of high-school.
They are willing to put their well being to the defense of the complete strangers in desperate needs. Quite admirable. It's sickening to see all the negative comments from people that are all talk but do not a damn thing.

There are some hotels that define 1-night test&go stay as a 24 hour stay, regardless of check-in time.

Does Thailand really want to be taken seriously on the international stage?
It should be treated as a pariah with steep consequences, until full democracy is restored.

Thai-style diplomacy aka 'Bamboo diplomacy' needs to be admired. Due to their stance Thailand was able to escape colonialism.
Thought that didn't stop the Japanese to come in and do some atrocious things. They don't realize they are more colonialized now than ever. Political colonization by CCP, economic colonization by Japan, and cultural colonization by Korea.

This gov't has itself in a position of damn if you do damn if you don't. With their track record, if they were to criticize Russia (or Myanmar or any other oppressive regimes), there will be voices saying "as if their own s**t doesn't stink."
"No F-35s for you!"

How do Covid extensions affect 90 days in 6 mo./180 days in 1 year maximum stay rules for non-long term visitors?

The moment you think they can't out dumb themselves, they surprise you. ???? You have to give credit for their never ending creativity. In the main article, it says "wearing a facial mask is highly mandatory in all public areas." I didn't realize there were different levels of mandatory. ????

Shameless less-than-true propaganda regimes like North Korea would use to buoy nationalism to populations that'd helplessly buy into whatever is being fed to them.
