Now that this virus has established itself on a global pandemic scale and has also mutated into various more potent forms in similar manner to influenza then the reasonable expectation is that it will exist as yet another endemic issue on a scale also similar to other less topical disease scourges that remain largely ignored. So yes it is very likely we will have to learn to live with it > After the hysteria of the impact . If nothing else this declared pandemic has illustrated the gross inadequacy of supposed humanitarian concerns in greater interest in profitability and nationalistic advantage and manipulation. So no to the concept that everyone should concede to acceptance of inadequate attempts to offset the impact of a contagion by elected or self imposed agents of control especially when priviledged fiscal considerations over ride egalitarian !

Over time the amount of vaccine available will probably increase. If having the combo shots initially then making best effort to get a 2nd AZ as the proposed "booster" would cover the problem ? Then again it may eventually be accepted that the claims 1 sino + 1 AZ are as effective as 2 AZ prove correct. I find it confusing and annoying to not be able to distinguish whether or not the inconsistency in policies is based on genuine medical science or attempts to corner market share or both ! I can accept that there is no general confidence in the Sino vaccines due to admitted lower performance overall but in they remain "better than nothing" in terms of protection and certainly availability.

Adhering to the question as asked in the OP I am left wondering on what basis there should be the question? As a product that is made under license using supplied materials from parent source, subjected to test of quality/conformity to approved standard, made in multiple global locations to same criteria then on what basis should/could a geographical location of production be disputed ? Should the same question be put about Pfizer because it is not exclusively produced in the usa? My question is why is it that given the global capacity that exists why is production remaining limited ?

While I can empathize with the legitimate right and reason for the protest/s if there is an element willing to toss ping-pong bombs and fireworks to invoke response they obviously will get it ! Or did not waste ? In the US Doctors have found that some vials of Pfizer with a nominal 5 shot content can yield 6. In the interest of commercialism is there some obligation to dump that extra? In this case if a doctor finds that an accumulation of residual vaccine per vial can yield an extra shot then is there not an ethical question to be considered in wasting it in face of the declare emergency of the pandemic ? Or even that it was not administered according to what has been shown to very dubious adherence to criteria? Unless there is evidence that in order to obtain this extra shot of vaccine that the previous 6 were shorted then rather than be forced to resign perhaps she should be congratulated in her medical ethic initiative to maximize the resources available? Who loses? The scenario reminds me of a Mr Coleman of who once declared "I did not get wealthy from my mustard product that people eat but by the amount they leave on their plate" ! If in the reverse sense people die because of waste of viable vaccine due to the dictate of contrived commercialism and bureacratic subjugation to that then we are all sheep awaiting slaughter !

There 6 nominal shots with some residual. If this doctor had the initiative to use the dregs as an extra shot so be it. You have directly made an accusation that the previous shots were shorted to obtain the 7th. Evidence?

A good promising start! I am left wondering why a comparison to Pfizer alone? Is Moderna's product somehow so inferior as to being a comparative? The technology involved in mRNA vaccine development is not actually so new in medical research with many documented papers describing the science of it. Independently achieving a result using a published technological process is not copying or stealing. And under the circumstances of the pandemic situation where such vaccines are being heralded as global salvation who cares when the pandemic is costing the well being of whole nations and the societies in them?
