NO, I think it's an entirely reasonable assumption to make for anyone that pays attention to what is happening in the real world.

If the land is destroyed, as is actually happening by destruction of the tree cover and over exploitation of arable land ( without fertilizer, much land would be barren ) to feed an ever increasing population it would be entirely possible to grow edible seaweed in the oceans, especially if the fish vanish, as is already happening. There is already research into using insects as food, and insects can be bred in massive amounts.

As there is already massive pressure on land to live on ( it's becoming beyond the ability of average people to buy land in western countries ) sea based cities are already being considered.

However, keep on making knee jerk responses ( conspiracy theories! ), if it makes you feel good. I am tolerant of other's right to say things I disagree with, short of actual personal insults.

But what you say isnt true!

you just read something called it research and now have an opinion that you will take to the grave with you!

    Thats intolerance

So true! I have a jokes group on Facebook and the stuff that gets censored there is ridiculous. Obvious jokes, nonetheless in a JOKES group, are labeled fake news! Just stuff that’s so obviously meant to be funny, which makes me think it’s either their AI that doesn’t get it or it’s someone who doesn’t speak proper English!

    Done by computor!

Sure, we can reproduce ourselves to the point we all live in floating cities and eat seaweed and insects, but is that a future to want?

As for destruction, the rainforests are vanishing at an accelerating rate because overpopulation increases demand.

The rainforests have been disappearing for 50 years (actually 45 years…we started paying attention in 1978)….still disappearing and if they didn’t reproduce or replenish themselves at all they’d all be gone in approx. 100 more years!

    Floating cities….eating seaweed and insects???

Now that’s the true fabric of conspiracy theories don’t you think!

***Not different than than the conspiracy theories fabricated by anti vaxxers (but that’s another story….similar but another story for another post.

Where was "science" while we were destroying the environment, and IMO overpopulating ourselves beyond the ability of the planet to sustain us?

Only 30% of the earths surface is land…take away mountains, jungles, forests, deserts etc humans live on about 9% (approx) of the earths surface!

With that in mind I think to say we destroyed the environment is pretty presumptuous and we’re only overpopulated in “certain areas”…Alaska and NWT just as 2 examples are capable of supporting many many times their population as are 100’s of others places on earth!

Many  might not want to live in those places but that doesn’t change the facts….if you could somehow comprehend how huge the earth is you might now be so quik to say we’ve destroyed it????

Is the Malay grass easy to grow from seeds? Why not buy grown Malay grass from Lotus Khamtieng area?

Yes very easy to sprout and grow and the seed/new grass will conform to the landscape where you can’t level it (see above) as well! I’ve used the sod as well but not for this application!

Sod is actually cheaper by a bunch but has its downfalls as well ie: my dog drags it around…hopefully she’s past the puppy stage now

    I know you asked specifically for locations in Chang Mai, but if you can't find them there;

I saw this one too…after reading the reviews I wondered about ordering from here!

Seed in the ad. is 2500b per kilo….sod is so much cheaper but we covered huge tree roots on top of the ground and 30’ long…2 big loads of dirt…if I build it up anymore I’ll be mowing a mountain! Even tho’ we watered and raked I know sone settling is yet to come around those huge roots so I’d like to use seed instead of sod to get a more even area! That’s my plan at this stage anyway!

It also means that any like me that think social media is evil vile and would never go on face thingy are at a disadvantage even though they may be really good at the potential job.

As for "personality", I'm sure anyone can pretend to be anything they want from behind a screen in mummy's basement.

Perhaps it's changed, but when I was young, people started at the bottom and worked their way up in occupations. They didn't get to start half way up the ladder because they were good at posting stuff on stupid social thingys.

BTW, I don't get how people of working age have enough time to go on line long enough to get 50,000 "followers". I was too busy actually working when young to be on the internet all hours of the day.

“Perhaps it’s changed”? Its changed since last week and our kids generation don’t have any trouble keeping up with that but I’m afraid our generation does! I was reasonably tech savvy but just enough to be a dozen moves behind all the time….stressful but that’s the beauty of leaving it all behind!

And yes you would be at a great disadvantage…especially if you referred to social media as that “social thingy” or “face thingy”????

As long as you understand there are restrictions then we are in agreement.  Seems you do.

Anyway only few people advocate total freedom of speech (without limits) most are pro freedom of speech but with some limits. You can debate about what limits and so on but total freedom of speech is dangerous and so it the total opposite.

Freedom of speech doesn’t give one the right to yell fire in a crowded theatre!
People are people so there are caveats on everything and grey areas where there shouldn’t have to be!

Any good employer should also know that many are far more extreme on social media as in real life. But yes it certainly can be used for that. Not so sure i agree with you about the 50k followers because some idiots have that many and more. But it can be an indication for sure but its not an absolute. It depends a bit on what kind of followers.

If an possible employee of mine has 50k antivaxxers as followers it would mean that i would not consider hiring this guy. If he is reviewing IT stuff and has 50k followers good, if he is doing holidays and 50k followers, maybe good maybe not.

It’s HR’s job to put a sketch of the possible employee together for the one doing the hiring and all this information just ticks boxes!

They have a standard checklist of course but the more info they have the further the scales might tip in your favour….or in the other direction!

Just saying there isn’t much in the way of information about you that doesn’t come into play.

**** the long and the short of it is…if they have your name and birthdate they know “everything” about you!

No wonder the western world is screwed if one has to be "popular" on <deleted> social <deleted> media to get a job.

IMO it's all going to end very, very badly, and I hope I'm not around when the <deleted> really hits the fan.

Popularity might be a tiny part of it but they can also check how you handle finances…how you write and spell (which is a big one)..…how people react to you and your personality…corroborate info you provided…drug use…how a person speaks about current employer…bragging about alcohol and other drugs!! A huge source of information available to a possible employer that could save them from making a hiring mistake !

If you’re a person with 50,000 followers I’d sure want you on my team and quicker the better……that means you’re an influencer and a leader and you know how to work you butt off!

You just don’t understand the importance of “likes” “subscribers” “followers” etc!

Theyre not desperate for attention…they’re making money (some are making a lot of money) and strengthening their resumes for jobs they might be striving for!

HR depts. of all major companies use social media standings to determine the strength of their job applicants!

Then I doubt you actually read this forum.  Yes, most are pro-vaccine but that's reflected in most societies. Pro totalitarian government - now that's where I doubt you actually read this forum.  Most posters that I see do not support this government and are highy critical of it.

Who in the holy —— cares what a Thai Visa poster supports!

You guys just don’t seem to get it…you’re visitors here…you are not Thai so nobody gives a rats ass what you support or what you believe or what you write (or should they).

You didn’t have any pull in your own country and you have even less than that here! Sit back and enjoy the sun…you are not now and never will be important in Thailand!

Yes agree that lots of businesses are closed but you miss the real point that with most of the tourists from the countries mentioned are on pre paid and or budget packages so Thailand see a much lesser % of their holiday spending.  I am not saying these tourists should not come but the Thai authorities keep harping on how these visitors will be our saving grace which is so far from reality. Target those who will come here and spend, the money will go round internally and benefit all including those businesses that you mention as well as 5 star hotels to street vendors & local markets!! So obvious yet the authorities like you don't see the real bigger picture!

You don’t get to cherry pick tourists…you need them all but mostly you need to get tourism up and running!!

Money brings money…busy just gets busier

All in jest...  now you can go back and enjoy discussing conspiracy of how the governments have colluded with health experts to give us all a vaccine we don’t really need.

seems you have me confused with someone else….I’m vaccinated and I think everyone should be asap or sooner ????
