I add, the dangers of the very ignorant.

Example; my son asked the headmistress of the school his 3 daughters attend if they needed more masks/sanitizer supplies etc.,

Her response; "Ohh it's not needed because the government doesn't allow the virus to come into

    schools".

Don’t believe that ever happened…neither will anyone else

    You're being pedantic.

If I were to say I'd avoid unvaccinated people like the plague it would mean *if I know they are unvaccinated* and what it really means is If I hear/see someone saying nonsense about 'vaccines don't work', 'I'm not putting that poison in my body', 'It's all a scam to control people', etc etc I will absolutely avoid those people.

Not because I'm worried about catching covid (I already paid to get fully vaccinated), but because I think people that think and say nonsense like that are utter morons and I want nothing to do with such people.

Oh jeeeez…someone introduced a new word to TV forum…..”pedantic”

going to have to listen to that one for a month now ????

‘Virtually’ everyone else on this forum is pro vaccine, ergo an idiot... erm... ok...

And you have a great deal of intelligence because you ‘question the government’ and disagree with them ?

The only things you missed out are... sheeple, plandemic, covidiots...

Dude…for everyone’s sake but mostly yours stop using the word “sheeple”…it just brands you and everything you say as weak and ineffective. You do t need any more help with that….!!

Google will find you another word you can pirate for your personal use

Instead of complaining about everything Thai, why not move back to your countries of origin where everything is so much better?

I completely and whole heartedly agree!! You guys that don’t seem to like Thailand and the way things are here and if you can’t learn to live here (you don’t even have to go back to the country you came from…. I’m assuming you didn’t like it there either)….there’s so many countries to visit out there…surely you can find one that suits you better!

I assure you…you are not going to change one single thing in Thailand…not even one thing so why not try to learn how to live here and be happy!

These variety of lilies can certainly be secured here - if you don't mind scouting about in the search.

    Many local nurseries.

Local daily markets that have a flora section.

In country botanical gardens that also sell stock.

Seems it might be a little hot here for lilies but I’m just guessing!

Almost anything grows where I am in Samoeng (if you can keep the bugs down) so I’ll do my best to find them in the markets!

im sure I could order on line if all else fails…

    Thank You

The scheduled completion date was March 31, 2020. When they showed up on April 1, it would have been oops, April fools...

There was no construction going on in the location it was to be in at any time in 2020, even before Covid arrived. I think it was all a joke.

Someone on TV.com posted a statement that wasn’t true?

was he he a Dr. or a Lawyer????

    mor just independently wealthy??

There were a multitude of surveys which showed the vast majority of the 39 million who came in 2019, were Malaysians, Chinese and Indian. That is not in doubt. The people in the tourism industry that I talk with, all testify that most were lower income. Some were middle income. Barely. They spent little.

The rest are theories. No question there is some sabotage. You cannot destroy tourism more here, if you tried. I have some theories. I assume you have some? You are most welcome to share them, without fear of persecution.

No….I absolutely do not want to hear your theories on Govt sabotage or “the people in the tourism industry you speak with” .

I tend to care about or deal with issues where I might be able to make a difference and leave this countries and Govts. injustices/conspiracies to guys like you… listening to the sound of his own voice….it’s called an echo chamber!
Keep on keeping on tho’…apparently makes you happy and gives you something to do….or you could just do a nature walk and look around at all the positives in your part of the world????

I would have thought Thailand would have learnt from past visits that most tourists from India  & mainland China spend very little, budget flights, hotels, pre arranged tours & dining from street vendors and your 7 elevens etc. Probably stay in foreign owned hotels and frequent foreign owned establishments where most is prepaid in their own country prior so Thailand see very little.

    Probably ????

  9. 6 hours ago, spidermike007 said:

Since the vast majority (perhaps 85%?) of tourists coming just prior to Covid, were low to middle income Indians, Chinese and Malaysians, they might as well stick to that segment of the market. Western interest in Thailand has been falling off, and Thailand cannot and will not attract the wealthy tourists they keep ranting about, for a dozen different reasons. So, stick with what you have. Tourism is going to be down anyway, no matter what they do. Likely only one million in 2022, with no restrictions, and only up to 5 million by 2026.

It is a sabotaged industry, and it appears that might be what they leaders wanted, in order to kill the nightlife here. It will devastate millions in the industry, but the leaders just do not care, one iota.

Where do you get these numbers and information…just make it up as you moan along??

***”The leaders@ want to sabatage the nightlife??

***A million in 2022 and five million in 2026??
***85% of tourists were low to middle income Indians, Chinese and Malaysians??

    ????

The thing with Honda was they didn't break down,  pretty much I like to think every other make has caught up by now.

    Agreed 100%
I rode Honda most of my life for the dependability while my friends were broken down on their “other brands or saving up for a valve adjustment on their Ducati’s???? but….Due to my friends I finally got around to the HD Dyna Wide Glide and found it to be a great bike…smooth powerful vibration free and dependable and my Yamaha Aerox is also a great little bike so I agree with you!!

I wouldn’t get my cheque book out for a Moto Guzzi or such but for the most part they’re all pretty good motorcycles now…a few are just a little better

The whole exchange took about 30 seconds. It was worth a try, just in case, since a dual dose Pfizer vaccine, or combo AZ and Pfizer vaccine, is generally considered more effective than a regular two dose AZ regimen....

Sorry if my desire to get a better, more effective vaccine regimen than the one they're offering offended your delicate sensibilities.

Well if there had been an alternative you would have been made aware…I always try to think about what those people have to put up with in a day?

I had the Honda 750 F or 750 Four first year in Canada was 1970…mine was the other color ….kind of a bronze gold color!

There was a Honda 550 F as well!

Unfortunately there was a Kawasaki 500 triple and the 750 Kawasaki as well…..brutish vibrating bikes with so many design flaws but crazy fast and people actually bought them.

You very seldom hear of one of those bikes surviving????

Got my 2nd AZ shot this morning at Phyathai II Hospital, coming about 10 weeks after my first shot. My original appointment for the 2nd shot was going to be about 12 weeks after, but they moved it up to today via an SMS received a few days back.

The process this morning at PII was much expedited compared to my first go-round back in late June. There was no queue of people waiting out in the first waiting area, unlike last time, and maybe only 20 people waiting inside the second waiting area after they've collected your passports.

This time, at the paperwork checking station, there was just a quick temperature check and no blood pressure check, unlike the first time. Though they did have a sign up saying they wouldn't give you the vaccine if your blood pressure was above, I believe, 180/100.

Not surprisingly, I did ask about the notion of getting my second shot as a Pfizer shot instead of another AZ shot, and was clearly told NO. I demurred, saying the government next month says they're going to be going to mixed AZ and Pfizer doses. And was again told NO, this time, with the rep claiming they didn't have any Pfizer doses available right now.

In the end, though, they did give me a paper sheet titled "Thailand Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination" that listed all my personal details, and then went on to list the dates, locations and types of vaccine given for my first and second shots. Along with a for-now blank section for a future 3rd dose. The form has a big QR code up in the top right corner, which connects to your personal vaccination info in the MoPH database, and thus can be used by third parties to verify your vaccination details in the future when presenting the certificate.

I arrived there a bit before 10 am, and was done and out the door by 10:30 am.

**** I demurred, saying the government next month says they're going to be going to mixed AZ and Pfizer doses.****
For the life of me I can never figure out why you guys have to “demur”

or say something….anything just so you can give your opinion!

The overworked health care worker doesn’t care what you think is going to happen next month…they aren’t interested in anything you have to say because you know zip, nada, nothing about what’s going on!!

Jeeeeez….just go in…shut up….get your shot and say thank you….then get the H out of the way so they can move on to someone else and do their job ????

  14. Over 60 in Samoeng and no health issues!

Applied on ChiangMai Wall in July and got my 13 digit confirmation number almost immediately and also filled application with Expatvac early August.…sat back and waited.

Email arrived around end of August for first vax shot Pfizer at McKormick Hospital in two days!

Arrived half hour early…already 100 in line ahead of us but it went well and quickly got to the front where they asked for my 13 digit confirmation # ( I assume that meant it was the ChiangMai Wall app. that was successful) …second shot on Sept 15!

    no side effects.

***Well run start to finish with non of the issues that those crazies hanging around on Thai Visa virtually guaranteed would happen????

*** when you’re in line leave some room for social distancing and wear a mask…couple of European dudes displayed some really bad “in lineup” behavior…just sayin’.

  15. Bigger Better Faster Harder!

Thats the world we all left behind….and there’s not much about I miss except when it comes to engines! The sound of high compression thru a great exhaust system and the smells that go with it are like a drug to many…just when you think you’re over it….aaaaaarhhh aaarhh aaarhh????

The riding the roads and the people  are different here and you have to adapt! None of my old heavy bikes would do well on these mountain roads covered with the thin layer of diesel smoke!

We came around a corner the other day and there was a white skinned tourist sitting on his bum on the pavement looking dazed and wondering where his rental bike was!

I could have told him if he followed the scrape of yellow paint down the pavement and over the edge he’d probably find it but we just went around him and kept going…someone already walking back to him!

Change and adapt….bigger better faster harder is for memories????

Had CRF250L nice bike and bought because I was trying to be sensible but I have rode mainly sport bikes all my life,  so couldn't get use to the lack power.

My Versys 650 was a good bike but heavy and found myself wanting.

Got a S/H bike I found unused for years the same as I had in UK and fixed it up by sourcing outside Thailand.

I have just sent an email to Honda's motorbike head office asking if there is anyone capable of doing major service work on my bike.

It will be worth a laugh at least. ????????????????
