  1. oh, I'm very happy to point the finger at Australian racism as well. Did you know we massacred a large proportion of the Aboriginal population? We forcibly removed kids form their parents for decades and abused them in institutions. Wanna start a thread about Australian crimes against humanity?
  2. Not even then until we find out what happened to the contents.
  3. But hey, we're not racists! much.
  4. Stop burning fossil fuels and deforesting. All credible scientists are saying this is the solution and none are proposing any other solution.
  5. Many. Just not the heroes of the far right it seems.
  6. It doesn't concern you what they may have contained and where those contents are now?
  7. Churchill was also a recognised racist. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/06/10/opinions/churchill-racist-great-white-men-view-toye-opinion/index.html
  8. I'm not at all anti-British. Stop deflecting. Do you think that British colonialism was good for any of the countries they occupied?
  9. They still want to tug the forelock.
  10. I did listen to it and my comments reflect what I heard. Stop judging others by your own standards vis a vis not reading links.
  11. Scrutiny builds over FBI’s discovery of empty folders at Mar-a-Lago It’s not clear if the materials the folders once housed are elsewhere in the boxes of recovered evidence, but experts say the suite of questions the detail raises argues in favor of allowing the Justice Department to continue its investigation, even as Trump seeks to stall its progress. “The ideal scenario that would describe this is that the empty folders are actually for the records that are somewhere else in the boxes — that someone just didn’t keep them in the folder in the way they were supposed to, so they’re not actually out there in the wild somewhere,” said Kel McClanahan, executive director of National Security Counselors, a nonprofit law firm specializing in national security law. “The least optimistic scenario is that they are nowhere to be found because they are already with someone else.” https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/3626431-scrutiny-builds-over-fbis-discovery-of-empty-folders-at-mar-a-lago/
  12. It was about the fact that some British Subjects weren't white.
  13. No. Britain raped those countries for centuries and that was an attempt at the time to provide some redress. I think if you want to discuss this topic you need to examine the reasons why they allowed that immigration. It was the law at the time.
  14. I repeat, nobody ever said they supported unrestricted immigration despite the right wing projection accusing their opponents as saying otherwise.
  15. I'm not arguing about the gist of what he was saying but what he actually said.
  16. Those are not the words for which Powell was vilified. I've already said that nobody supports unrestricted immigration. That's not the point.
  17. Yes, the optimal target is ZERO. The target we have to live with is much higher than that and anyone arguing that scientists should be able to pin the tipping point to an exact number is disingenuous.
  18. Anyone who fails to provide links to support their argument is also failing to debate in good faith.
  19. The abuse was from Powell himself. You might reflect on why he lost his job. Even then his views were regarded as toxic.
  20. "Agenda" is just a meaningless label used in order to escape actual good faith debate.
  21. Link? To be clear, almost all the models chosen are no longer in use, having been superseded by more sophisticated models since. Some of the earlier ones, especially those from the 1970s and early ’80s, are fairly crude energy-in, energy-out models, with a single variable for forcing (CO2) and a crude measure of climate sensitivity (the amount temperature rises per additional ton of CO2). It wasn’t until the late ’80s that James Hansen and other scientists developed multivariable general-circulation models. It turns out that even those crude early models were fairly accurate, which is remarkable given the sophistication of the science and the available computing power. None of the models the authors analyzed got it badly wrong.
  22. Same agenda? You mean scientists who agree with the findings are wrong because they agree? LOL
  23. Ozone never mentioned now or fact free opinion? https://ozonewatch.gsfc.nasa.gov/statistics/annual_data.html
  24. No peer reviewed climate change predictions have ever been wrong. https://climate.nasa.gov/news/2943/study-confirms-climate-models-are-getting-future-warming-projections-right/ Scientists have gotten predictions of global warming right since the 1970s https://www.vox.com/energy-and-environment/2019/12/4/20991315/climate-change-prediction-models-accurate
