  1. If you're referring to me I'm not American. If you're referring to Trump [as President], nobody took up arms, they waited and voted him out. By a lot. If you're referring to Biden, I have heard and read that sentiment often. Pretty much everybody who believes in the big lie says so. The hate really started when Obama was elected. Black man in the White house and all that. White supremacist hate groups proliferated during Obama's tenure. Trump gave legitimacy and voice to the haters who had been largely kept under a lid previously. Again, I'll say I blame it on the southern baptist church who arose out of support for slavery and racial segregation. Nothing's changed except except the sponsors. Racial tensions inflamed in the south after the civil rights movement got rid of the Democrat Jim Crow laws until, during Nixon's tenure, the Republicans bought the franchise on racial hatred. We saw the race card played to the max by Trump and now others politicians on the right see mileage in extremist far right racist policies and replacing the "socialist" regime with a fascist regime.
  2. You're right, but he fell off the turnip truck over nationalism. Given his marching orders by the socialist party for being a warmonger.
  3. Mussolini founded and led the National Fascist Party. How did you determine that he was a socialist?
  4. Whatever a court decides. That can be appealed and appealed again.
  5. Fear of democracy. That's the only driver of this sentiment, otherwise they'd be content to vote and let the chips fall where they may.
  6. Yes, I did mention that I thought it was politically driven bluster. The problem is that the thousands who actually did riot at the Capitol tends to give credence to the narrative that many are serious as does the proliferation of guns with no other real purpose.
  7. How do you know there isn't going to be another vote?
  8. 35% Republican to 20% for Dems. That's overwhelming by my definition. Over a third of all Repub voters think it may be necessary to invoke a civil war. That's an extremist position.
  9. You are deliberately ignoring the 10% who don't know. You implication that the vote to rejoin would be 51% is statistically false. The vote to rejoin is 20% higher than the vote to leave.
  10. About half of all people were not wearing masks in Central Festival in Pattaya yesterday. Most were tourists but also about a third of Thais.
  11. as does every single country in the world. It's not about reality, it's about wanting to coin the term as an epithet against the left.
  12. These polls are in landslide territory https://www.statista.com/statistics/987347/brexit-opinion-poll/
  13. Those who claim it may soon be necessary are overwhelmingly Trump supporters.
  14. and what most would now vote to roll back.
  15. You quoted a number, I asked for a link. The forum rules require that you provide one.
  16. Trump is the main inciter of rebellion against the government. and the only president to ever do so. The post is on topic.
  17. Got a link to this false claim? Are you quoting encounters or individuals?
  18. They were kidnapped in broad daylight by priests as were Australia's "stolen generation". Then they were often subjected to horrific child abuse, both sexually and by neglect. The unmarked graves are testament to the neglect. It's not just a few bad apples in the priesthood. The worldwide pattern of child abuse at the hands of the church demonstrates that the church has been little more than a haven for child abusers.
  19. The supreme court ruled it unconstitutional, there would need to be an amendment to the constitution.
  20. The point of my example was that even during concerted GOP efforts to remove immigrants, Republican farmers were still smuggling them back in and continuing to employ them. My post said "it has always been the case" It did not say this was only the case at one time 70 years ago.
  21. yes, that's always been the case. Even during operation "wetback" when Eisenhower chucked over half a million out.
  22. That's legal in Poland. They do, it's more about who employs them rather than who "lets them in".
  23. Well, that answers your question then doesn't it? They do, at least informally. The difference though is that it isn't only the UK that needs foreign workers in Europe. In Asia, it is literally Singapore and Thailand.
  24. All those countries have adequate unskilled and low skilled labour forces so don't need to import labour. Singapore is an exception but it is very easy for Malaysians to work in Singapore. https://mustsharenews.com/malaysians-working-singapore/
