  1. Upon Thani is really neat. Besides the bars next to the Pullman are there any more farang style bars? In my curious wanderings I never saw anything other than those. Upon Thani has a lot of bars and beautiful girls. I think because of all the University's. You can also find bars of the beaten path. I've enjoyed staying in Udon Thani. Two new hotels have opened recently also. Nice places to eat and great shopping mall with plenty of eye candy. Cheap flights from udon airport make this a great weekend getaway for mongering something different. There's also some boring temples if your into that.
  2. Ordinary Russians? Far and few between. The few Russians I've met are rude and aggressive. I'm sure there are a few nice ones. It's just I haven't met any.
  3. "Bangkok’s illicit craft brewers risk arrest under draconian laws" These laws are in place, obviously, just to protect the myriad of commercial monopolies that are stagnating growth and opportunities. Until this changes, Thailand will contiue to deter innovation and fall further behind in economic growth in the region. Sad fact.
  4. Depending on volunteers to do such a demanding and mentally taxing job is probably a bad choice. Paying people to do that job would help everyone. Get half the police force and TAT employees to rotate 300-400 positions in the call center.
  5. It's good to check whats available online. Many items are cheaper. The monopolistic nature of two families owning Tesco, 7/11, Big C's, and Makros doesn't encourage competition. However, you need these places for meats, poultry, etc. I like shopping at the markets also. A little eye candy and its nice to get out and about.
  6. I'm insured and I don't want to be hospitalized. I think you don't understand the magnitude of the biggest city in Thailand running out of hospital beds. There's no room for other health problems like car accidents, heart attacks, etc. It's a major problem. Get a grip dude.
  7. Yes! ....And not Sinovac or Sinopharm. I don't hear much about there secretive Astra Zeneca products much anymore.
  8. "JSCCIB Proposes Joint Committee To Monitor Russia-Ukraine Situation" .....Most probably don't even know where Ukraine is located. Better of just watching the WORLD news and reporting it as there own fact finding. Similar to there Covid reporting.
  9. Meanwhile people are advised to seek hospital treatment outside of Bangkok as Covid cases surge and overwhelm hospitals today. With or without testing it is not a good time to visit Thailand, especially Bangkok.
  10. There's more chance of catching Covid in Thailand. Glad there back home safe. perhaps they'll be able to get a job at 7/11 or another dead end job that's so prevalent in Thailand.
  11. Great you got yourself squared away.
  12. And you can get weed anywhere. If you're ideal vacation is smoking pot then maybe go to Jamaica.
  13. Interesting. Same stance with the mass murderers in Myanmar. Lousy government with no scruples to speak of.
  14. They will require reciepts and dated pictures of said valuables "inside" the house for any compensation after wear and tear is deducted. That said it's not unusual for a junky looking houses having 60,000 baht TV inside surrounded by chickens.
  15. You might try 7/11,Tescos, Big C. Lazada lets you pay bills from your home. I just paid my electric bill. It's not for everyone but that's just the sign of the times. We don't have any banks or even an ATM in our village. Closest is 20 kilometers away. Sometimes I have to take my wife's mom to the agriculture bank. She's like in there for an hour. There like molasis.
  16. And the ones that will have no experience and probably botch the job. Good luck, especially if you're in Issan.
  17. Cheaper for them for people to use on-line banking. They'll definitely be a thinning of branches in the coming years. Mall branches are the only profitable brick and mortar banks. There's not much reason to go into a branch unless you need some obscure paperwork done or a loan.
  18. Lot's of Thais already working in Saudia Arabia, and for that matter all over the Middle East. Beats working in Singapore. Obviously the government wants to grab some tax revenue from overseas income.
