  1. In the long run this is going to be more expensive to the Thailand as a whole. Completely close the borders until you get a grip on this. Despite all the rhetoric of how many people have been dubiously vaccinated. Theres eventually not going to be enough hospital beds again despite symptoms being milder.
  2. Accident 3 week's ago. My wifes cousin was rammed into by a drunk driver. The guys not in jail. It was 11:00 am in the morning. You'd hope it would be safer around that time. Hes alive, just a torn ligament in his leg.
  3. Probably more entertaining than Khao San Road. It's virtually empty but drink prices are like its the hippest place in Bangkok.
  4. It's now just a very boring street with a few places open The craziness, hotties, cheap drinks are gone. Plenty of other places to go in Bangkok where at least you can people watch.
  5. Is this true? Sounds like baloney. I think there worried about what little they have left and want to stretch it out. People, in a few weeks will be upset when they realize there aren't any vaccines available to get a booster.
  6. One book costs more than a days wages. No libraries to borrow a book. My wife loves to read. She mostly downloads books to her Iphone. Its a cheaper "Amazon Kindle" alternative.
  7. Thats exactly whats going to happen. Everyone knows its just another scam at the expense of the taxpayers Delivery costs were astronomical. Still better than they could make in Thailand though. "42.5 million baht in transportation costs" https://thethaiger.com/news/national/japan-donates-used-diesel-trains-thais-criticise-acquisition-over-transport-costs
  8. Great idea! Better than some greasy faced policeman asking for 200 baht.
  9. I loved mine. The pods were cheap at Costco and Bargain Barn. I gave it to a friend along with hundreds of pods.
  10. Nice and entertaining story. In a way though it made for an interesting weekend for you. Hopefully your wife enjoyed herself and I'm sure she appreciates your easy going way. ......and though they may not have said it, I'm sure the guests appreciated and enjoyed your hospitality. What a cool guy!
  11. We're looking to buy land (my wife is anyway). Much cheaper than Pranburi and Hua Hin. Definitely on our radar. Happy New Year! Plus plenty of Durian down there.
  12. What a great report. Any cough or feelings of lack of Oxygen? Time to binge on Netflix. Sounds like you're doing great.
  13. Sounds right. If I get it I want to weather it out at home. These hospitals are extraordinary expensive for many foreigners to stay even a few nights. I stated weeks ago being charged 10,000 baht for 3 disposable (paper) haz mat suits. My son spent one night at a private hospital. 48,000 baht. Tons of needless tests. I was floored.
  14. I haven't been to that province for 15 years. I'll have to make a trip of it.
  15. I actually prefer ordering and have it delivered or bringing it home. I enjoy taking my time and watching the TV. After I eating I'm ready to just relax on the couch. Having to take tests before going out to eat is going to leave these places deserted. What a hassle for a family with young children. Safer to eat at home anyways.
  16. They've got the pod market covered in Thailand. Lot's of there machines available in stores. There also in many high end hotels. Never see the Kuerig machines here.
  17. Add to the beauty. Maybe a river/canal walk. It's great having a nice mall close by.
  18. Here's a reasonably priced easy to fold and travel with wheel chair. Probably be the same price as renting, if there was a rental. Planes also don't count that as luggage.
  19. Hopefully much better enclosures than 15-20 years ago. Does anyone remember the zoo in Pattaya (Dark Side) that had a Lion,Dog, and a huge pig in one cage. The story was they all grew up together since they were little. I personally can't stand zoo's.
  20. I don't know about less restricted but they do count people transiting as incoming tourists. I've heard they also count planes entering Thai airspace.
  21. Here's a rough guide from the Bangkok Hospital Group:
