  1. He served in the King's Regiment of the British army between 1969 and 1973, nowhere was it reported that he fought in a war.
  2. Stop your nonsense...it is you who needs to stop their nonsense, you speak for no one here except yourself and I'd guess that many members are interested in reports such as this that may be relevant to them.
  3. They are talking about not being able to pay at all, obviously, because they did not have alternates ready. Likely the Op would be escorted to an ATM neaby for cash. That's what I said, they, obviously, would (have to) accept an alternative payment method, such as cash.
  4. I'd guess that they probably couldn't be arsed wasting their time calling back someone who suspected that his credit card may not work when they had real customers who could pay the bill without issues.
  5. They are talking about not being able to pay at all, obviously, because they did not have alternates ready. No, that was not what was being talked about, it was a hypothetical, he was never there in that situation, obviously, you'd know that if you bothered to read the OP. If it had been a real situation he'd have been an idiot for taking a crowd of business colleagues to an expensive venue with no means to pay except a foreign credit card that he wouldn't have been able to use.
  6. ... its also likely they may not have wanted to respond with specifics - hence the information being vague that he has been found and is receiving consular assistance. Oh.
  7. That would also cause significant concern. Oh.
  8. That would cause significant concern to my family and that of anyone I know. Oh.
  9. <deleted>, how do you know what day she initially reported it to the police? There's no suggestion that she "waited all this time" before reporting the theft.
  10. "I litterly had to..." Unbelievable! You're a teacher, "litterly" [sic]? Perhaps semi-literacy is a disease?
  11. Obviously, in that specific circumstance they would accept another payment method.
  12. You'll need to back up that with something credible.
  13. Why should the embassy get involved in a traffic accident - do they usually?
  14. Gawd... Why don't you organise it, what's it got to do with AN?
  15. "...a friend of mine who drove like a lunatic slammed straight in to the side of the van". Maybe because your friend was "driving like a lunatic"
  16. You were fined B50,000? What traffic offence carries the penalty of a B50k fine? This should be interesting.
  17. "...the cops said to me, "if i not there, then accident not happen". Cobblers.
  18. "...he had failed to board return flight as planned. That would worry any family". No, his being an adult, missing a flight would not necessarily "worry any family"! "Also there had been some unspecified "odd" communications from him..." So that would be meaningless as they were unspecified. "He has since been found and is reported as receiving consular assistance from his Embassy. So can infer that indeed something untoward (but not lethal) had happened". Well you inferred that; the embassy always makes that word-for-word comment if asked, it does not imply anything untoward happened other than the reported missing his plane. If anything untoward had happened it is likely that the family would have been asked to comment further by the UK press that they brought in at the start...I wonder why that hasn't happened?
