  1. So maybe that is just for setting up the app. I have the latest "Next" version, it works fine for transactions on wi-fi with the mobile data off.
  2. Opening and using the Next app using wifi, is no issue, just made a transfer that way.
  3. "Facial recognition and only via data, no wi-fi connection allowed". Huh? Out of curiosity, I just logged in to "Next" using wifi with my mobile data turned off, using my PIN, not facial recognition.
  4. No, I won't be mentioning that "technicality", sorry to disappoint you, I won't even be reading it!
  5. You must mean that you do not go with taxi that do not use the meter. Otherwise, you can always try to make a taxi driver in Soi Nana to turn on the meter. Be my guest That s exactly what I mean and I'm not daft enough to (a) go to Soi Nana (Soi 3) or even Soi 4, nor (b) try to get a taxi from Soi 3 or 4.
  6. Farang beware, it is considered as work. Irrelevant, but, mining crypto is not illegal. Who, apart from you, said that mining is classified as "work" and that, presumably you're saying, it needs a work permit?
  7. and are they welcome? ignored? celebrity? pariah? tortured? No prisoners' offences are publicly announced to the prison population, none of your categories particularly apply. No one is "tortured"!
  8. In summary...you didn't read what was actually said. The quote was that there was no official cock fighting there, which would be legal.
  9. I beg to differ, the police chief was very clear ("It's not allowed here", he claimed.) Cock fighting is not illegal at licenced venues where it is allowed.
  10. As it was reported, the patents checked out the place before using it so I'd guess that they would know how many. You seem to be suggesting that there were too many...why would you do that with no knowledge of the situation at all?
  11. unless it is someone who cannot be named.... then the whole highway system is shut down....... Just as happens in your country also.
  12. It's not a health concern... it an ‘anti-tourist' (ergo foreigner) concern... and topping the list to make any announcement which targets, blames or focuses anything negative on tourists in any way or form is... ...you guessed it !!... "...it an ‘anti-tourist' (ergo foreigner) concern..." No, it is not that. He is Deputy PM, that's why he is involved.
  13. If you ran the consumption through a meter you would be up for tens of thousands baht a month. The end result would be the same....You would get nobbled! "Nobbled"...why? Is mining for crypto using metered electricity illegal now?
  14. Yes, that interesting that you have "no proof of the event". You need only your bank details, passbook and passport to make the claim from BoT.
  15. Are you saying it could still be used for extensions? There was a reason I put "end" in quotes. No, I did not say that. I wrote that a passport full of stamps does not become invalid. There was a reason that I wrote that.
  16. "...your experience, like mine, is not empirical". Incorrect, once again, my information is empirical. It was announced by the AMLO that from November '22, to combat money laundering, cash deposit machines would require the user to insert an ATM card so that they could be identified if necessary as previously CDMs could be used just by typing in the destination account number, i.e. the cash depositor was anonymous. Alternatively, the depositor, from November, could provide their ID card number or phone number. The same announcement also indicated that cash deposits at the counter would require ID. That's empirical.
  17. The 1930s called, they want they're racist references back.
