  1. "S&P Global Ratings has lowered its ratings on Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) and Kasikornbank (KBank) to 'BBB' from 'BBB+', and on Krungthai Bank (KTB) and TMBThanachart Bank (TTB) to 'BBB-' from 'BBB', reflecting its view that systemic risks have increased for banks operating in Thailand. At the same time, we affirmed our 'BBB+' ratings on Bangkok Bank and Bank of Ayudhya (BAY). We have revised down the stand-alone credit profiles of all six banks by one notch. The outlooks on all the banks are stable".
  2. You mean she should have planned to lose her passport a bit earlier? Oops, you're quite right, my apologies to the OP. She'll still get done for the overstay, though, unless some arrangement is arrived at with Immigration before she leaves.
  3. Designed for race track. ...and the road, it's a road bike.
  4. "...and make sure the buyer knows that the bike has a crash" Er, yeah, right...make it difficult to sell and devalue it after having it properly repaired?
  5. If you leave from the airport with that overstay there will be no problem, you will just be charged the usual B500 per day and have that stamped in your passport. That you left your passport renewal too late will be looked at as your problem, there is no exemption for your situation (unless is was just one day, maybe two, if you're very lucky). Edit: just re-read your OP, my apologies for misreading your situation. Re the overstay, unless you sort it out with Immigration before you got to the airport, you'll still have to pay the fine.
  6. What was the balance that you claim was inappropriately lost? It is a fact that if a bank closes a dormant account with a credit balance after the bank's normal charges, the balance is sent to the Bank of Thailand according to the BOT's regulations but the account holder can always reclaim those funds with correct identification. This was announced by the BOT and can be checked, unlike your claim. Any bank is entitled to close an unused account if the balance falls below that needed to keep it active, i.e. cover normal charges such as card renewal.
  7. As a general rule, the poor go to jail and the rich do not. That is not Thai bashing, it's a fact. You clearly have not been following news reports very closely over the recent few years, several well-off, influential people have been detained in prison here. That is a fact.
  8. The full story about who was jailed and for how long is in today's Bangkok Post for those who are interested.
  9. She doing 20 years as we speak. In prison. There is seldom so much false informtion and unjustified generalised Thai-bashing as is found on Thaivisa.
  10. And close the account and keep the money if you don't use the account for a certain length of time - robbers! Nonsense. Money in dormant accounts will be returned to the account holder on request. That was well publicised not so long ago by the BoT.
  11. Brilliant, great work, brianthainess, what makes you think that the recipient wasn't apprehended before this was published?
  12. You're not suggesting that the theft is ok because the woman has a lot of money, are you? How could you know what is in the woman's will, she may not have left anything to that daughter.
  13. good point, don't think i've ever had trouble navigating an airport or railway station... That's because they have installed signage, just as the station has also.
