  1. The writer of the post is from the Isle of Man where apparently they have a higher level of Pension than the the UK. The IOM is not part of the UK.
  2. Two points, she'd have to fund her own return to the UK after being detained at the Immigration Detention Centre and she has to be fit to fly.
  3. No, they do not reduce state pensions, the payment remains at the amount paid before leaving the UK.
  4. They went towards the entire social security system, not just your own state pension.
  5. Mandatory Class 1 NI contributions fund pensions and other benefits pensions and are deducted from salaries during the entire period of employment (over certain salary levels) up to retirement age. NIC don't stop after 35 years.
  6. No need to guess, the answer is yes, she would continue to receive the amount she was receiving when she was in the UK.
  7. It wouldn't reduce, she just would not get any further increases.
  8. I do not think that is the case, her pension would be updated to the current level, that is all.
  9. Yes, but she would not get any further increases.
  10. What have IOs got to do with the incorporation of Thai companies?
  11. ...until they found out that the shareholders were, in fact, illegal nominees.
  12. The foreigners who paid her for the illegal companies through which they illegally owned businesses and/or property are the ones being defrauded, they risk losing their investments and property.
  13. They used Thai nominees to circumvent the rules, which is illegal; it was not done "per the rules"!
  14. Such a well thought out suggestion...ask the airline that would be responsible for her. Incapacitated passengers are not allowed to fly without someone with them to act as their carer.
  15. So why not have a level playing field.. treat every country as the same. Treat them all the same? Yes, they should freeze all pensions that are currently receiving increases to level the playing field with those not receiving increases. Now that's an idea, that'll sort out the whingers!
  16. Yes Maybe they DO Lou, & There are Many that get even LESS as I Do..... Your point is...?
  17. She's not in the UK so the welfare state's facilities, functioning or otherwise, do not apply to her.
  18. No UK government wants that reciprocal arrangement, regardless of how easy it may be to implement!
  19. That's not a standard pension, many receive higher amounts.
