  1. That law against soliciting was put on the books decades ago and is still there.
  2. "...it's just sort of a fact". No, it is not "a fact", at all, that is just your bizarre opinion.
  3. Are you trying to make a point?
  4. That's normal in Thailand. Normal everywhere not to disclose personal information of bank accounts' owners, not just Thailand.
  5. Perhaps your complaint should be directed at Immigration, not the banks!
  6. None of those documents are the work permit that you have been clearly told is now mandatory by the bank so what do you expect?
  7. No Thai retail banks are at risk of going tits up.
  8. No bank is under any obligation to open an account just to ease a foreigner's visa process. In this case they have not refused to open an account, it is just that you cannot meet their requirement of having a work permit.
  9. What did they say when you called them to ask?
  10. Regardless of the fact that the owner has now allegedly agreed to compensation and before that confirmation, three days after the unwitnessed event how does just a missing toe confirm that it's loss was the result of a specific dog's attack three days earlier and what makes the police so "clueless"?
  11. This kind of stuff is never reported, it's implied that the customs in different airports communicate with each other. Exactly my point, that was not reported. And neither was there any Customs communication workshop implication despite your movie viewing.
  12. Nonsense considering that less than 25% of Thailand's economy has ever depended on tourism.
  13. Cobblers, he served his full sentence in prison for his conviction.
  14. "20mm is about 3/4 of an inch around...". Diameter is not the same as circumference.
  15. We can leave shoe repair folks out this thread, thank you.... I agree, so why did you post "logic" cobblers if you think it should be left out?
  16. Why should claims resulting from thefts not be covered by insurers?
  17. Another one of those either going along with daft conspiracy theories or ridiculously thinking that Customs only check one lot of baggage per flight. What in the OP "makes it sound like a set-up".
  18. Thai Logic? No, it was an AN poster's assumption that they knew in advance...AN poster "logic".
