  1. i live in kho phangan and have a 1mbit connection to the internet. you obviously havn't looked very hard.

but anyway, i agree with Rooo, you have to take the good with the bad.

i think you came here with preconcieved ideas about what this place is and when it didn't meet up to your high expectation you became bitter.

and for the alpha comment and getting ripped off... once you figure out the system you don't get ripped off very often. maybe you should learn functional thai, but you would rather them cater to you by speaking fluent english right?

  2. As a prisoner must apply for the transfer, it would be curious why he would do so if he thought the receiving prison would be worse than where he was currently serving.

Because it is general practice that prisoners will be released soon after their arrival in the US. Not law, but general practice.

Any emperical data on this "doesn't-follow-the-law-or-the-treaty-as-signed-but-still-in-done-so-in-general-practice" theory? There have been 76 American prisoners transferred under this treaty.

:o it is done by law :D Parole is systematic. I wonder if they are transferred to the Fed system or the states?

it would be federal if there were no law that was violated within a particular state. i've heard stories where americans were extredited to states for crimes commited in those states. but a law broken in thailand and transfered to the US would be federal.

  3. I wonder if he is happy to be serving the rest of his sentence in the States. Seems prisons here are more violent.

    You must be kidding.

He must have applied like crazy to get the transfer.

US Prison as bad as it is will be 100 times better than a Thai prison.

i don't think prison rapes are as common in thailand as they are in the US.

Guess you saw that in a movie.

i have an MBA in criminal justice. i studied it for 4 years.

This must be a joke. MBA is a masters degree in business. Criminal Justice is a separate discipline and degree granted would not be MBA. Also, 4 years is the traditional study period for a bachelor's degree, not masters degree. I think he saw it in a movie.

sorry, it was a typo. it is a BA (bachelor of arts) in Criminal Justice. anyway, alot of the material covered is in corrections. i was refering to someone thinking that i got my information from movies.

  8. This is happens with some of the cracked version of Windows! :o:D

    so how is it fixed?

According to the forum rules I can tell you only: Use a Original version of Windows!! :D

i am using an original version of windows. the problem is installing office. how do i fix it?

If you use a original Windows with original Key (you didn't mentioned which Windows you use) and you have the original CD's from both Windows and Office 2007, it seems to be more a hardware problem than a software problem.

Start with your memory. If its older parts, clean the "feets" with an pencil rubber.

If you've more than 1 Memorycard inside, take out the other card('s) and check to install again. If this don't work, change the Memorycard to an other and start again and so on. may it works with one card and after installation you can place back the other cards.

If they're DDR2 you need to check the memory is 100% compatible with the mainboard. Some Memorycards work on some MB's only, special DDR2!

DDR2 Memorycards are low quality cards because the manufacturer didn't place any ECC chip on the DDR2 cards while DDR (1) still have the ECC chip on board! That's while the price of DDR2 is so much lower than for DDR! And here came the new MB's in conflict also because the Memeory Controler for the DDR2 MB's areiuch cheaper also as the Controler for DDR Memory.

    Hope you've luck.

    Cheers

i doubt it is a hardware problem because the system is running fine otherwise. has anyone had a similar problem like this befre?

    (i'm running XP Pro SR2)

  11. doesn't the OP say that he maintained his innocents? i don't know if he was guilty or not. seems like many of the TV posters are quick to condemn anyone in their sights. this is a pretty sad story. 17 years is a long time.
