  1. As the old gospel saying goes: Keep Your Eyes on the Prize. To me, the Prize is Trump is not again President. All these cases are a distraction to that. And the US Constitution does not prevent a 'criminal' indicted or convicted from becoming President.
  2. You can LOL all you want. Trump just became (per the Federal election commission) the presumptive Republican nominee and this coming 2024 presidential election is going to be decided by 6 or 7 states only which scares the <self-deleted> out of me. And to me, all these civil and criminal cases are a side-show compared to that.
  3. Trial date is now set for May 20, 2024. These are the charges: 32 counts of willfully retaining national defense information (18 U.S.C. § 793(e)) 5 counts of obstruction of justice (18 U.S.C. § 1512) 1 count of interfering with a federal investigation (18 U.S.C § 1519) 4 counts of making false statements (18 U.S.C. § 1001(a)) Bad enough without your making up more. Kinda like when you say Trump has "violate(d) a defamation verdict on national TV" when there wasn't any verdict other than damage payments.
  4. Never. He has not been charged with theft. 18 U.S.C. § 793(e)) Whoever having unauthorized possession of, access to, or control over any document, https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/793
  5. The official SSA document: Your Payments While You Are Outside the United States See Additional Requirements https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10137.pdf
  6. suspect away. But then you are getting into issues of 'prior restraint'. BTW the $91 million bond has been approved by Judge Kaplan.
  7. The bond holder may already have the means to collect built into the bond arrangement as in an escrow account so not an 'attempt' at recovery.
  8. (Judge McAfee) gave an interview to a local radio host on Thursday night, assuring listeners that the emergence of a political opponent would not influence his decision on whether to disqualify Ms. Willis, which he said he had already made. “I’ve had a rough draft and an outline before I ever heard a rumor that someone wanted to run for this position, so the result is not going to change because of politics,” he said on WSB Atlanta. “I am calling it as best I can in the law, as I understand it.” https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/11/us/scott-mcafee-willis-trump-georgia-trial.html
  9. This is the verdict. Monetary damages only. No terms to violate except for non-payment. If team Carroll wants to file a third defamation suit, that is something else. https://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/new-york/nysdce/1:2020cv07311/543790/285
  10. In a testy exchange Sunday, Mace said it was difficult to tell her story in South Carolina and alluded to the judgment she’d received afterward. She called Stephanopoulos’s questioning “disgusting” and said that it would also discourage women from coming forward to speak about rape. Stephanopoulos denied the charge and said Mace was “courageous” for speaking about her rape, but continued to ask why Mace supported Trump. “I’ve endorsed the man that I believe is the best for our country,” Mace said. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2024/03/10/nancy-mace-george-stephanopoulos-trump/ A spokesperson for ABC News stood by Stephanopoulos’s interview when reached for comment by The Hill. “George did his job by asking meaningful questions that are relevant to our viewers,” the spokesperson said. https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4525320-mace-says-she-wont-be-going-on-abc-again-good-effing-luck/
  11. Even so. Once the Carroll team and the Judge sign off, I wouldn't expect much more if any further info to be revealed.
  12. The $90+ million was underwritten by Federal Insurance of Indiana founded in 1901. Once the bond has no further objections from team Carroll and is approved by the Court, they have all the information from FIC/Chubb they are going to get. If one were to ask more in depth questions as above, FIC might say that was all handled by Chubb re-insurance subsidiaries in Bermuda or Switzerland or Lloyd's of London.. Go ask them.
  13. “George Stephanopoulos tried to bully me and shame me as a rape survivor over my support for Donald Trump, which is insane to me, because he wasn’t found guilty of rape anywhere,” she said on Fox News’s “The Faulkner Focus.” “I wasn’t brought on to talk about my own rape. I didn’t agree to any of that. And he shares the speech I gave, impassioned speech five years ago about telling my story for the first time. It’s very difficult for me to watch that speech. It’s painful,” she said. https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4524362-nancy-mace-george-stephanopoulos-tried-to-bully-me-during-testy-interview/
  14. "I’m not going to sit here on your show and be asked a question meant to shame me about another potential rape victim," Mace said. "I’m not going to do that." BTW The Hill is running the same story with the same quote as above: https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4522502-nancy-mace-george-stephanopoulos-trump-endorsement/
  15. This was not an appeal. This was a motion filed March 5, 2024 in Judge Kaplan's Court. It is reasonable to assume this would be a large component of any future brief filed with the Appellate Court.
  16. Header for the Trump brief recent (Carroll I) judgment (their CAPS): PRESIDENT TRUMP’S MEMORANDUM IN SUPPORT OF MOTION FOR NEW TRIAL AND/OR TO ALTER OR AMEND THE JUDGMENT UNDER RULE 59 OF THE FEDERAL RULES OF CIVIL PROCEDURE
  17. I'm not your Mother. Find them yourself. You've already commented on them as to be nothing new, so I figured you must already know.
  18. Note to the above: The Carroll response to the Trump appeal brief is due March 15 -- I will guess that Carroll attorney Ms. Robbie Kaplan will not agree with any of the appeal claims either.
  19. So you are making all this noise and you don't know. Not you have reviewed all the appeal legal claims and you do not agree with them. Just you don't know.
  20. Sez U. Is this going to turn out like your arguing about admitting DNA evidence when you were unaware that Judge Kaplan had already ruled on not admitting DNA evidence?
  21. As it would seem neither of the 2 civil appeals re: the Carroll cases will be decided before 05 NOV 2024 election day so you can maybe wait on your hypothetical hypotheticals until the results are in.
  22. Well the above scenario almost presumes that Trump's chances of being elected President are greater than the chance that he wins on 2 appeals which is something I care NOT to ponder.
  23. https://electionlawblog.org/?p=140964 Are the Courts Likely to Sustain the $65 Million in Punitive Damages Awarded Against Trump in the E. Jean Carroll Defamation Case?
