What @connda said is a good overview. (I am not so sure about the bleach, though) But OP asked for topical treatments. It is actually possible (if you are lucky) to cure fungus with topical treatments, but not with creams. You need a lacquer, Loceryl (Amorolfine) is the best. Available in Thailand in hospitals (more than 2000B), hard to find outside hospitals (I once bought it for about 700B, but cannot remember where - I think it was Lazada). Be prepared to use it for a year or so, and use more than the company tells you. No shoes and socks, wear open sandals. Keep feet dry.

You have to get your experience and specialization somewhere, right? An orthopedic surgeon once told me about one kind of surgery: we here, in the government hospital, do several of these operations every day. Over there, in the (brand name) private hospital, they do 2 or 3 a month.

How to kill 5 children with 1 motorcycle
Lorry replied to Confuscious's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
They didn't get around, they were pretty much stuck in their village. Motorcycles changed rural society. Now you were able to take your gf on your bike (ie only you and her) to the village fair in the next village. The interesting part was not the party or the neighboring village, the interesting part was between the 2 villages. Motorcycles played a big role in the change of Thai sexual values during the last 40 years. They gave people freedom. -

It is true, that in rural Surin only old men or women staggering along a rural road will be seen using a bicycle. It is not true, that there are no bicycles available, or only one per household. Plenty of unused old bicycles, no maintenance, rusting in the backyards. It's just that nobody wants them - bicycles are too cheap. A new bicycle costs 1 tenth or 1 twentieth of a new motorcycle, so, obviously, nobody wants a bicycle. Adults want a pickup, motorcycle for the kids. I am talking of "poor" villages in rural Surin. -

I don't call people poor who own a motorcycle. 20 years ago, rural Thais who owned a motorcycle were considered well-off. Even at that time, most rural Thais were not poor. You want to see poverty? Go to Cambodia, Laos, Philippines. Or Brazil... -

When I was that age, I had a bicycle. My brother and sister, each had one, too. That's how we got around. -
Having said this, boosters are generally not recommended any more. Anybody who has ever had PrEP will count as previously immunized when PEP is necessary.

Yes, exactly what I was saying. -

Thai defamation laws are violated even if what you state is true. Marc was such a lovely person, so many farang held him in high esteem. He tirelessly worked to bring Thais and farang closer together. He never crossed any red line. Unfortunately, I didn't have the good luck you had , and didn't know him personally. -
Yes to all of the above

I agree. Let's turn it around: if you want to avoid taxes, sell your house/stock in a year you are not a tax resident and remit it in the same year (or in another year that you are not a tax resident) The same logic applies to any remittances of money (not only capital gains) you made after 1/1/2024 for people who in some years are not tax resident: choose these years to remit income, and remit income that you in made this same year You agree?

It's a very different kind of medicine. SiPH is a bit like Thai government medicine: you do what is absolutely required. Not more than that. It's very minimalistic, but I like this approach. Sometimes it's too minimalistic. In Bumrungrad/Bangkok Hospital and many other places of Thai private medicine you do everything which you could possibly think of, as long as it's paid for by the patient's insurance. I have once seen a patient in SiPH whose list of daily medications consisted of 1 (one) pill per day. Impossible in many other private places, 10 pills three times a day is much more common.

Exactly. And you have to understand the context, and the kind of barefoot medicine the WHO (correctly) promotes, for places like sub-saharan Africa. In a village in Mali, you don't have the resources to check all kids for worms, and chances are, most will be infected anyway. So just deworm them regularly, better than doing nothing. In a city in an upper-middle income country like Thailand, the situation is very different.

Digital wallet as social engineering

The list shows only a fraction of the restrictions, general restrictions when purchasing something. There are many others, I mentioned depositing money in a bank account. There are limits for withdrawing money, limits for purchases of certain goods etc etc A couple of years ago, in a country which according to that list still has rather high limits, I brought my old dental crown to a gold shop. I got 15 €, had to bring my passport which was duely copied. Newsmedia create a climate where people feel the mere possession of 4- or 5-figure sums is a criminal offence. Next to the headline "Guy kills wife" may be a headline "Police catches guy with 20,000 cash" - even in countries where this is not illegal at all. -
You presume that. I don't. Wow, great news! So Pattaya is deserted now, Soi Buakhao all empty, Soi 6 is only girls! Why didn't you tell me earlier, tomorrow I will travel to the now pristine beaches of Pattaya.

Isn't this defamation of poor old Marc? Maybe his estate will sue you. -
Thais do this with dogs, they give them worm meds without symptoms every couple of years. I still have to meet a Thai stupid enough to do this to himself.

That club was a place to socialize with Thais. But thinking of it... OP is tired of "Thai faces", maybe that club or something similar would be a solution. -
Sending an email and sending a letter (jewelry doesn't need big, bulky packages) by snail mail isn't such a big difference. And as for "defamed Thailand" - 555

Digital wallet as social engineering

Every country in the EU has different limits and different rules. The limit is often much lower than 10,000 €. 1000 or 2000 is more typical, that's not much more than a nice dinner party. And no, not only commercial transactions. A typical example is buying a used car for cash from a private seller - illegal in most countries. There is generally a climate of fear and suspicion when people see banknotes exceeding 50 €. 10 years ago, I wanted to pay an AirBnB by depositing 1200 € cash in the landlord's bank account. The teller called the manager, they threatened to call the police. The usual cr@p. The best answer is always the story of the Dutch jews. There was a census in the 30s asking everybody his religion. Law-abiding Dutch all answered truthfully, they had nothing to hide. That later saved the Nazis a lot of work. If someone who has power over you wants information about you, it's never in your interest to provide that information. -

Today's Bangkok Post has a critical opinion piece by Chartchai Parasuk about the workings of the digital money. He calls it "inferior money"
