I will say it again: there will be no "targeting" or "selecting" any tourists. Thailand will be begging even the lowliest backpackers to come soon, as it will soon be clear that pre-Covid travel is years away.

Truth is, pre-Covid international travel isn't coming back anytime soon, and that's more true of Asia than anywhere else. Asian countries will be begging and fiercely competing for any tourists whatsoever they can get. There will be no "selecting" "quality" tourists or any such nonsense. The brutal truth will be evident even to these imbeciles soon.

Who the hell wants to go to Thailand just to play volleyball on a beach -if that is even possible? Though the Thai government is run by Thais, they have no clue what makes their country appealing. And it's not the 4-5 star resorts and mediocre beaches (many of them, not all).

I should have added that China will never change its Zero-Covid strategy, so that means the extremely tough return quarantine policy is unlikely to change anytime soon, maybe not even within 5 years, so forget about the Chinese. Personally, I don't mind that at all.

The Thai government will soon openly admit its conversion to Islam, solving the troublesome problem in the south, pushing out farang, and establishing firmer control over society. Pattaya will become the pilot caliphate, then the rest of the country will follow. Thailand could then join Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and the southern Philippines as part of the Islamic "superstate" of Southeast Asia.

China is currently building massive quarantine facilities that house over 5,000 people. This will be the norm for the foreseeable future for Chinese travelers, and few will want to tolerate that. Don't expect the Chinese hordes to return anytime soon.

Quarantine has to go, booze bans have to go, and the Thai gov needs to realize that their people are a greater threat to visiting farangs (re Covid transmission), than the other way around. But they're just too ____ing stupid.

The morons who run the country would like to think they can shape how Pattaya will turn out, but the hard truth, which they will surely learn, is that they'll have to take whatever they can get. Pattaya is not high on many people's lists, and Thailand is far, far from out of the woods re Covid. Basically, the government has no say in anything re Covid, nor will it have much say in how any region develops post-Covid, if there every is a post-Covid. Thailand's leaders make Cambodia's Big Man look like Steve Jobs or Elon Musk.

China will soon buy Samui and Thailand can wash its hands of it and not worry about the "troublesome" foreigners there anymore.

Pattaya will become Sihanoukville -a horrid Chinese hotbed of illegal activity, owned and run by them. Thailand will have to accept that it is at the same lowly level as Cambodia.

If the Chinese (gangster) embassy had to make a statement to "assure" the Thai public that their country's vaccines are not trash, then you know for sure that they are. When did Xi Jinping get is jab of Sinovac or Sinopharm? Oh wait, he didn't.... There was a recent report that Kim Jong Un refused the Chinese garbage vaccine too.

Everything made in China is garbage. I think this was already a pretty well known fact. Why would anyone think their vaccines would of high grade? Do you think the Chinese leaders took SinoVac or Sinopharm? Not a chance! Tell me why.

Wonder how they really determined that #? Could it be that there's so little forest remaining that it made them easy to count?

So long as daily "case counts" (regardless of their lethality or hospitalization) make headlines and help determine policy, we'll be in this situation for the rest of our time on Earth.

In other words, Hua Hin residents resemble those of the poorest Filipino islanders, who are doing the same thing to survive.

Whoever put Kratom on the narcotics list deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison, or at least the combined total of time served for prisoners jailed in Thailand due to Kratom. I imagine that's several lifetimes.

Try to find some peer-reviewed studies on the efficacy of SinoVac (replace "V" with "Cr"). Good luck with that search.

If tourists cannot enjoy the beach in Thailand, then Thailand needs to be completely shut off to foreign tourists. Enjoy your destroyed economy, Thailand. You'll need 10 years to get it back, and China will own half of you.

Thailand used to be a wonderful place....until about 2003 or so. Then something changed, specifically regarding, generally speaking, locals' attitudes towards foreigners. Places like Bangkok started to look like every other city, and the country, as a whole, just seems a helluva lot less interesting than it used to be. There are exceptions -like get way off the beaten path near national parks where no one goes to bordered by towns whose restaurants don't have English menus. When you get out to those places, you can feel like you're in the old Thailand again. But Samui, Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin, Bangkok, Chaing Mai...? Why anyone would bother to travel across the world to these places is beyond me. Those places are for Chinese and fools.

Unless you want endless rolling lockdowns (which is what you're going to get and you haven't seen anything yet), it's probably time to throw in the towel, throw the doors to the entertainment clubs open, just keep vaccinating and vaccinating. Covid is here for good.

Who will bring Covid with them yet again, despite the fact that their lying government says they have it under control, which they don't.

I just hope the Thais never forget who brought this epidemic on: China.
