  1. A reinforcement of arrogance? Thats a pretty strong assumption to make based on someone wearing a hat in a building. Who the hell says they speak American? If this is your circle of American acquaintances you might want to consider leveling up
  2. He would have been better if they wouldn't have stymied him
  3. Doubtful there's a difference for this definition between the two versions. Seeing as it's obviously a struggle for you to comprehend the difference between abbreviations and acronyms and coupling that with the fact that you choose to continuously argue with a native English speaker from the country in which you don't live and are not from the LEARNERS version seems more apropos. Have a fine day
  4. Tipping service staff. Thats something I've found to be almost intrinsically American.
  5. Just out of curiosity...where did you attend school? Bet it wasn't Oxford. Or even remotely close.
  6. I was a fan of the guy with the viking helmet who was arrested and subsequently went on a food strike because he couldn't get organic food
  7. Really don't care about the complexity of whatever it is you're babbling about. Ive provided you resources and information on what they're called. Call em whatever you want. They're abbreviations by multiple definitions.
  8. I don't need to pitch you dude. I get nothing from it. I quit working corporate jobs at 40 and turned to my own thing after 5 years of traveling the world. Do and believe what you want.
  9. I'd do a bit more research if I were you https://about.usps.com/who/profile/history/state-abbreviations.htm
  10. 200K+ are some high earners in the US and from my experience the employers treat them rather well. I dont think anyone under the age of 35-40 would have anything good to say about working in the corporate world.
  11. They're state abbreviations...not state acronyms. PA ... Pennsylvania TN .. Tennessee MS ... Mississippi Acronyms NWA .. NorthWest Airlines DL ... Delta Airlines DTW ... Detroit airport (Detroit Metropolitan Airport located in Wayne County) You're welcome
  12. With the exception of WM those are official abbreviations...not acronyms.
  13. Depends on how long you've been with the company and if they are a decent employer. 15-20 (3 - 4 weeks vacation)
  14. Pretty much true. Visited home last year and it was the first time I ever felt 'unsafe" walking around the streets of the city I grew up in. I had my wife with me and it was her first time in the States so I was on high alert the whole time while trying to show her what it was like living in a big US city. Costs are prohibitively expensive for everything. Not a lot of value for your money anymore. The once nice neighborhoods are infiltrated with crime. The sh!tty neighborhoods are war zones. Public education is a joke. You'll wait a month to 6 weeks for a non critical doctors appointment and of course there's always the weather. To be honest...I couldn't wait to get back to Thailand. I'm happy I grew up American in a big diverse city. It prepares you for pretty much anything that comes your way in the future. But I'm far from being that scrappy kid walking around with no valuables and looking over their shoulder every 30 seconds. Leaving was the best thing I ever did. So was maintaining business ties.
  15. You need to hit up them country roads where Walmart is a destination. TN and MS? I'm really surprised
  16. I retired at 40 off of investing into the scam and came to live in this lovely place. I guess when you can't change the game you just learn to play by the games rules.
  17. Good write up.
  18. Unfortunately this represents a large part of the US if you're not from one of the big 3 cities. And LA is questionable at that.
  19. You forgot our massive stock market and how it drives the global economy
  20. Definitely agree with this. It carries on back home too depending on where you're from.
  21. And to be honest, he didn't do himself any favors by saying he wasn't a regular drinker. If so then 1 or 2 glasses will put you over your abilities really quickly. <deleted>in smooth brain dip<deleted>
  22. It is tho...because it paints a picture of the types of idiots who think they can get away with anything because they have the financial ability to buy favors in a third world country. It's atrocious actually.
  23. Does anyone have good experiences with life insurance agents here in Bangkok. I want to set something up but want to make sure its legit and not full of loopholes that they can use to avoid paying out when the time comes
  24. Cigna is one of the best. They direct pay with all the major hospitals here. No hassles.
  25. Using an agent, you're rolling the dice and the odds as of late are not as favorable as the days of olde
