  1. I really doubt that I would enjoy my evening if those around me were imbibing in the consumption of intoxicants.
  2. Whether or not you bring your wife, no matter who she may be, I am not surprised that you passed up the opportunity to select a much more refined and relaxed environment, except, I realize that the quality of these two restaurants has deteriorated during the past few years, due to a change in management and also due to a change in clientele, which is reflected in the much lower pricing than was offered about a decade ago. A decade ago, the quality of one of the restaurants was much, much higher. So sad, really. Maybe, next time, if there is a next time, a better place can be found... 10 years ago, the restaurant pictured in the bottom image was actually worth a visit. What happened to it? IDK. If only we could go back in time, then we could meet-up here. But since time flows in only one direction, from a Classical Perspective, then maybe next time the meet-up could be held in a more upscale establishment.... Something like this: But with better food, perhaps, because I eat only Thai food in Thailand, and it's always best to go where the Thai food is best... I never eat in bars, by the way. And, like the Chinese, I prefer to actually be able to see what I am eating. So, anyway, maybe next time. Tks!
  3. Staying at CMU.... Interesting. INTERESTING!!!
  4. If this were China, then it would be Breakfast on Tiffany.
  5. "BOB" Not bud. Not Rosebud. "BOB" "BOB" is the Archie Bunker Persona that Bud has attempted to create here. But Bud's Persona BOB falls flat, by comparison. In order to creatively create a more interesting persona, such as this TV-Bob, then Bud would need to be another Norman Lear. And, Bud is no Lear of well-known Television fame. Instead, Bud is probably more like the Lear of Shakespeare: Shallow Tragic hero in his own mind Blind and unfair Self-obsessed Vengeful Etc. Etc. Etc. Maybe some here like his type? How strange it is...
  6. Please do not worry. Feel free to attend, if you like...because... No need to wait for me, as Godot will not be coming...
  7. Without class. Such a society cannot exist. First you call me DUDE. Now you talk of classlessness. You're not a Marxist are you? Everything quiet enough for you at the coffee shop, this morning? Any anarchists around, eating illegal food? No ghosts, I hope.
  8. Please never say never. The majority of people in HK want to see British admin of the Colony return. I want to see it return. I can imagine circumstances which could lead to the return of the status quo as we once knew it before the CCP soldiers came marching in, in 1997.
  9. Wow, Man... I was wondering the same thing. Great job he did. I just wish he had provided comments for each and every Topic. This is the only way a great writer, such as I, can hope to improve.
  10. TikTok is against my religion. I mean that Marxism is a religion. And, TikTok originated in China. And China is considered to be a Marxist-Leninist state. Concerning the Topics you imaged in your comment, would it be possible for you to arrange them in some hierarchical order, based on your reading preferences?... I just want to know what you like so that I can try to make your reading experience even better.
  11. Thank you VERY MUCH. I will try that. I do not care that much about losing a few Baht, just because I am unwilling to provide Lazada with my bank account. I have, probably, about 10 returns in the system, unrefunded, for which I have not yet bothered to seek cash refund, or apply to other purchases.
  12. Why Do People Find It so Titillating to Roast and Be Roasted? Is this just an American pastime, roasting and being roasted? Is roasting and being roasted a western thing? Why do we enjoy so much having our feet metaphorically held to the fire in a public setting? Obama loved being roasted and roasting. The guy he loved to roast most was probably Trump. And Trump loved to be roasted by Obama. As for me, I don’t think I would much enjoy being roasted “face to face” with my roaster. Although, just reading my roasting might be perfectly OK with me. So what about you? And is this a cultural thing? Do you think a public roasting would be appreciated in Asian culture as much as American culture, if, for example, the Asians were taught properly how to “get into it”? Do you have any good examples of a good roasting on UTUBE in which the roaster does an outstanding job using the complexities of the English language, for all it’s worth? Wit is crucial for a good roasting. And, if you don’t have a good command of the English language, then you might as well not even attempt a roast. One should never roast someone who is perceived to be weaker, obviously. Trump never thought of himself as being weak, and so his roasting was perfectly acceptable, and everyone had a good time, even Trump. Any more good roasting examples? Besides this one....?
  13. That was a GREAT Topic... While it lasted. And, to answer your question, I now know, after so many years of searching, I will never find a genuine genius woman suitable for me. They just don't make them like they used to, I guess. (I may need to settle for my China Doll, made in Hong Kong, with the voice of Bard. Bard is a genius, you know.)
  14. Many here, during recent decades, have spent significant time living and working in Hong Kong. We have seen Hong Kong change rapidly at times, and often in unexpected ways. What do you see for HK’s future in 2028? Would you wish to live in HK…ever again? Personally, I first landed in HK around 1980, and I enjoyed my first extended stay in the colony, immensely. HK of that time was such a beautiful place to live, situated as it is in the South China Sea, with plenty of islands to visit, and super-cold AirCon almost everywhere. I was not a tourist in HK. I had family there, a driver to escort me, and HoManTin-living on a leafy mountain road. Maybe what I remember might be thought of as the “Old Hong Kong” of that particular time. Or, maybe 1980 was not the best year to live in Hong Kong, and maybe the years that had come before were even better, compared to the HK life I myself saw. But the question many are asking now is what’s in the cards for HK during the next five years? Will the lifestyle there improve or deteriorate? Will UK rule of the Colony return to Hong Kong? And is this what Hong Kongers now actually would like to see happen? What about banking in Hong Kong, and international companies based in HK? Will business just go on as it always has, with minor adaptations to prevailing winds, whatever the direction? Of course, being an Anglophile, I prefer HK administered by the UK with Hong Konger participation… sort of the way it used to be. People lived well. And people of that day, especially the Hong Kongers, were happier than they now seem to be. Any thoughts about the future of Hong Kong, between now and 2028?
  15. If you have time, how do refunds work on Lazada? If one has made purchases which have been returned to the vendor, and then credited by the vendor to the Lazada user's account, what is the preferred way to have that money returned? Is it required that a local bank account be "registered" with Lazada? And what if the user prefers not to disclose local bank details to Lazada? Or, alternatively, can these "credits" from returned goods to Lazada's vendors be easily used to make additional purchases from other vendors?
  16. Even if you were to call me, "Sir", I would not be satisfied or impressed with anything you say.
  17. Are you sure this is not just another one of many examples of PROJECTION, on your part?
  18. This is a dumbed down book for dummies. Not surprised that you are recommending it. There are many reviews of this POPular book on the web. I suggest you actually READ a few. This is the same genre as Pop Psychology... For example: https://old.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/igfkv5/is_sapiens_by_yuval_noah_harari_accurate/g2vmkdt/ So, anyway, I would not be surprised if you secretly believe in Ghosts, as well. You know... Sort of a Closet Ghost-Believer...
  19. Well, I guess it takes one to know one.. Ghosts, I mean. And by Ghosts, I mean Foreign Ghosts or Farang Ghosts. And, the proper term for Foreign Ghost in Chinese is YangGui or YangGuiZi (洋鬼 or 洋鬼子). I have been a Foreign Ghost all my life, and loving it. I suggest YOU, too, get comfortable in your own skin, Comfortable enough in your own skin so that people having different skin, meaning different customs and culture, might not bother you so much. Someday, YOU might lose all your money...again. And then, it's entirely conceivable that you might need to depend on kind locals for a handout. Just an innocent observation, and, I hope you might take it to heart, Someday.
  20. John seems to have made some very poor sartorial decisions throughout his life. There are several indicators in the mug shots. I just wish we had a closeup photo of his tattoos.
  21. Fine! But, have you seen this formula for calculating IMPOTENCE? The music on these videos is distracting, too.
  22. I think you might surprise yourself if you picked up a good Physics book at bedtime. You might just find that you are unable to put it down, and read late into the night.
  23. Threads? or Links? Links to the Global Problems of Population Growth, Yale, course: Can be found here... https://online.yale.edu/courses/global-problems-population-growth And links to the Classical Mechanics MIT course: Can be found here... https://mitocw.ups.edu.ec/courses/physics/8-01sc-classical-mechanics-fall-2016/ You can choose other versions of the "Easy" MIT Physics courses which are not so easy at the one I linked in the OP, which is probably for non-Physics majors. And so, if you want the "Real Deal", then choose one of the following courses, instead: https://mitocw.ups.edu.ec/courses/physics/ And, of course, the list goes on... (By the way, the lecturer of the course I listed in the OP is a great teacher, very dynamic, and the young kids seem to love him. He's quite entertaining. Also, he is amazing at drawing dotted lines, something which is worth the watch of his videos, just in itself.) Hope you enjoy the Population lectures, because they are unique, and many universities would not offer a lecture series of this type, in this day and age.
