  1. Sweet, thanks hope they don't give me any troubles with my last stay being 15-16 months with covid extensions,
  2. Was granted a tourist visa 60 day for re-entry, was wondering if I needed to bring anything else? I figured just incase id bring $1000 cash, documents for where im staying, return flight
  3. going to be one interesting relationship lol I am curious, when these parents are asking for sinsod, how old are the husbands usually? It would make sense when a 40 year old is marrying their 20 year old daughter. I have never been asked about money or sinsod, maybe a few thousand baht here or there over the years but I am in my 20's so the age gap isn't that big.
  4. i personally would take a grab, but you need bolt to get back since they don't have grabs in sri racha
  5. was clearly a ponzi scheme, dont know how people fell for it
  6. When I went to a private hospital they did the ER first but asked for payment before surgery
  7. i remember reading tesla getting into the thai market, i agree it'll sell well, probably end up taking over the other ev's maybe in 5-10 years there will be enough chargers for ev's to be practical for everyone
  8. what do you mean by authentic? tops central always has international foods, it's like the whole foods of thailand
  9. yea the canadian embassies are pretty backed up as well, must be influx of travelers for the holidays
  10. its probably less than 0.01% of their portfolio so it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, kind of like buying a lottery ticket in thailand, losing $2 isn't going to make you go broke...hopefully.
  11. Yea I wasn’t too worried about the website but this was an email directly from them as I was inquiring about visa exemption. This is what they said “As of October 1,2022 to March 31,2023, a Canadian passport holder is entitled to visit Thailand as a tourist without a visa for 45 days. The Visa Exemption Scheme Program cannot be extended and a round-trip ticket is required. To re-enter the Kingdom by using the visa exemption (for the 2nd time) is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Officer in Thailand. ”
  12. Is there any change on visa exemptions recently? I emailed my embassy and they explicitly said if I enter with a 45 day visa exemption there will be no extensions granted at all. However tourist visas are allowed 60 days plus 30 extension if needed.
  13. Thanks I’ll keep that in mind, chances are I’m not leaving in 45 days so I’m going to need to find a way to book a ticket that I can cancel or change
  14. interesting, thanks for the tip, it seems to cut the hassle of fronting a payment but similar to what you can do via booking a ticket at the airline as they have to refund you if you cancel within 24h, at least in canada.
  15. is the onward ticket a real ticket that just gets cancelled later? or it a ticket that's immediately cancelled giving you a "receipt"/confirmed booking? I have a confirmed booking from a booking i just made and cancelled so i could switch to a cheaper flight, air canada has a weird system, even though the ticket you're switching to is $600 cheaper they only want to give me $80 refund lol, said i have to cancel it and rebook to get the full discount even though i just booked it 1 hour ago
  16. for visa exemption is a real flight ticket out needed or is an itinerary good enough? like if i cancelled my ticket after buying it and brought that, kind of am thinking of booking a flight 60 days out cause its $600 cheaper, and using a booking receipt showing a flight out in 44 days. do they normally check?
  17. i changed my flight a few days later to give more time for the tourist visa application to go through, same flight path, do i need to reapply for a tourist visa?
  18. Im not from the states but im pretty sure swift is international network for bank transfers so most banks will do swift to any other swift bank. I dont see why any US bank wouldn't do swift transfers to Thailand
  19. never been to chiang mai, just central bangkok area and the university town here, probably less technologically advanced in other provinces
  20. theyve already been using mobile banking for a while now without bitcoin lol
  21. If the quality was the same then no one would go to the hospital and there would be too much demand for these clinics to handle, thus having to raise the price to balance out supply and demand. There is no demand for these clinics for a reason, thus leaving the price to stay low to try and increase demand. Unfortunately that's the sad truth, I can see clinics being a bit cheaper anything at a significant discount isn't going to be as good.
