Was at Pathum thani, was quite different than bangkok. when I was in bangkok you got a ticket, went to an IO and then they processed your application/ reviewed your documents it was really laid back here, you walk in, front desk, they tell you what you need/don’t need/review your documents then you just wait outside and the IO does everything in an office and the passport gets handed back to you at a waiting area. I never even saw the IO. The person at the front desk didn’t even check my file and just assumed I needed a tm30, I just filled the form out, gave them a copy of my lease and paid 60 baht. Was super simple, not sure why people complain about it

Had a near 18 month stay with covid extensions and just came back in December with a tourist visa, got an extension with no issues, although I had to do a tm30 this time because I was using a tourist visa and not a visa exempt. Was as easy as filling out the tm30 form and showing my lease, luckily I brought it. they didn’t charge me any late fees luckily even though I didn’t really do the report in 24h. They only charged me 60 baht which I’m assuming is the normal fee for tm30. super easy and everyone at immigration was super nice All you need to bring is passport photo photocopy passport 1900 baht tm7 lease (if doing tm30) extended for an extra 30 days gotta love Thailand

33 lecturers pass off purchased research papers as their own work

lol im guessing english arts degree? Past education, work experience, knowledge about the courses/programs, knowledge about the industry that they're teaching To be fair, most professors aren't that great, there are very few professors that are exceptional at teaching and typically they are at the top colleges in USA, i.e MIT and Stanford For example, in MIT, SEC head Gary Gensler is teaching some courses, he's an exceptional teacher. -

i have to say, having went to a thai university to check it out, quite a big one in bangkok, not very impressed by the quality of the professors. -
Is she your daughter or step daughter? how old are you? She wants an iPhone at 17, that’s pretty reasonable, at 17 you’re off to university and a smartphone helps a lot with school. probably doesn’t need one but it sure would make her life easier. It’s not 1990’s everything is technology these days.

Any differences I should know of from getting an extension from a visa exemption, to now a tourist visa (60day), thirty day extension? TM7, photo, photocopy, 1900 baht, theres no tm6 departure card anymore In bangkok do I go to the regular immigration office now at CW? instead of the laksi IT square location?

I’d just pay it and not break any rules in the future even if it’s a “future rule change”. -
if I remember correctly, apple doesn't sell their batteries, so chances are its bootleg, also I think the MacBook batteries in 2016 are typically glued down which is why it's easier to have apple do it

I mean 300k baht isn't much in terms of assets, a car is easily worth a million baht, even an iPhone is worth 20-30k, surely he has something he can sell or give you to sell you have to ask yourself if he's worth giving your money to, you clearly said you don't have anymore money, he had a health condition he knew about and didn't save up or get health insurance so in my opinion it's his fault. If it was a freak accident, thats another story. I've given friends around 200k for medical bills, I didn't expect any of it back but they ended up doing favors for me.

You get what you pay for with surgeries, bangkok hospital is where I go, doctors have American education/training.

Apple started doing battery replacements at a fair price. Always get apple to do it unless you want to risk something going wrong and getting bootleg parts. probably will cost $200 youre in bangkok so it should be easy to go to the apple store

Yea that’s true I hedged for the worst, but just wanted to make a post notifying how easy it is to get into Thailand so others in my situation dont make the same mistake. was just surprised how relaxed the immigration was, typically with visa exempt, at least on the immigration and embassy websites, require proof of accommodation, round trip (or ticket out of Thailand) and cash requirements, however none of these were being checked. It was as easy as showing your passport, boarding pass, putting fingerprints in the reader, take a picture, Thailand immigration is great -
So I just came back to Thailand with a tourist visa, feel like I shouldn’t have bothers, people were coming in non stop with visa exemptions, not one person was stopped or asked any question or asked for documents/proof of funds. Won’t be getting a tourist visa next time that’s for sure, they didn’t ask me one question either about my 16 month stay with covid extensions, just gave them my passport, boarding pass, fingerprint, picture and done

why would you even have to fly to bangkok 9 times?
