How many days in Phuket is ideal?
Troy Tempest replied to MichaelJackson's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Well like everything it depends on what you know, who you know and knowing where to go! Many parts of Phuket are like <deleted> suburbs anywhere, but if you take time to explore there are some fabulous beaches and chilled restaurants. You need a bike or a car to explore it properly.....As we all know, Phuket Taxis are best avoided! -
How many days in Phuket is ideal?
Troy Tempest replied to MichaelJackson's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I Totally disagree! I have just done a six week road trip around South Thailand and spent 2 weeks in Kata. It was great!...The south of the island has great beaches and all amenities. I have visited Phuket many times, but I have lived on Samui for 14 years plus....so it doesn't seem expensive to me! Also we hear horror stories about Ruskies everywhere on Phuket...... I only met a few and they were all polite and "Friendly"....Well in a Cold sort of way! -
Dear All, I recently ordered something from Lazada and the delivery guy arrived on a motorbike and delivered the package having called me previously. I already had the exact amount ready and paid him for the package on arrival and he went away. The price was 1,224 Thb. However, about 1 hour later I got a call from a lady saying that I had only given the guy 224 Thb. I was adamant that I had paid the full amount and then suddenly I heard her talking to the delivery guy who was still saying I had only paid 224 Thb. He then came on the phone saying he was coming back for the "Extra" 1,000Thb. I went ballistic and told them to <deleted> Right Off! He said he was still going to come to get the money at which point I had to threaten him and closed the call! He never showed up....Surprise, surprise! Just wondering if anyone has had a similar occurrence?

So does that mean if you send your girlfriend a gift not exceeding 10 million she will not have to pay tax on it and theoretically she can give you it back in small amounts as pocket money thereby negating any tax liability to yourself for money received from abroad? I am sure you know where I am coming from?

<deleted> Me!.....Tell me about it! I guess most guys on Death Row don't feel so good for a few days before they strap them to "The Gurney"? At least in Most Cases it only happens once per individual....As you may know, sometimes it goes wrong! You know what it's like.....Sometimes we forget to pay the Gas or Electric bills! With Samui Immigration we have to go through the same mental torture every F*ckin' year! -

These days I rarely have to visit Immigration on Samui as they finally got 90 reporting online to work..... However, I always make a point of visiting the office a few days before I want to renew my Retiremnt Extension just to find out whatever ridiculous loopholes they have come up with regarding even more document requiements. I have been visiting Samui since 2006, but only living here permanently for 13 years! Ask KhunPer...He knows EVERYTHING about Samui! -

Maybe not true about them keeping all your paperwork. At Samui IO I have often gone to get TM47s or other forms sometimes only to find they were recycled with someone elses information on the back and even with passport details! Ask KhunPer...He knows everything about Samui! -

Easy to get around Immigration problems at Samui IO..... Just buy that Fat Bird a box of chocolates for when you hand in your papers, Works for me every time! -
Over the years I have witnessed many motorbike accidents (some in Real Time), but most after the fact, but often with a corpse still in situ! As stated previously I have lost many friends and acquaintences in motorbike accidents over the years on Samui! https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&sca_esv=599042207&q=chalk+lines+around+bodies+koh+samui&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiqtcrc7OODAxXFSkEAHV_PAkMQ0pQJegQICBAB&biw=1280&bih=539&dpr=3 Do you think there is some Banksy Type Nutter going around drawing body outlines on the road and then adding a bit of Red Paint just for a laugh????

It's True about Samui! I have lived here permanently for 14 years and been coming here since 2006. I know a lot of nurses and doctors here and they have told me that they get a handful of casualties every day due to motorbike accidents.... I have also spent time in hospital here and seen many Victims myself on the wards. I live on The Ring road and in "High Season" we hear about 10 ambulances going past daily! 2 or 3 Do Not Pass Go and Go Straight to the Morgue instead! I have personally lost several friends and aquaintances here due to bike accidents. It goes unreported so as not to tarnish the island as being dangerous!
