  1. Yes the old labels don't have stars and nearly every product received a level 5 rating so it was difficult for consumers to compare between them. Hence the new labels were introduced with 0-3 stars above the level 5 but clearly something went wrong as the fridge with 2 stars is worse than the fridge with 0 stars.
  2. I believe the best rating is a level 5 with 3 stars.
  3. Yes I agree the second one is better I was just curious how EGAT decided it gets a lower number of stars.
  4. Yes they both have level 5 rating (as nearly all modern appliances do) but there is also a new sub rating between 1 and 3 stars which is indicated at the top.
  5. I'm curious about these egat energy labels as I was comparing two Samsung refrigerators (both of them digital inverters). If I'm reading the labels correctly; it seems like the smaller fridge uses more electricity and yet it has a 2 star rating...but the bigger fridge uses less energy and only has a 0 star rating?
  6. Looks in better condition than most of the public parks in Bangkok unfortunately.
  7. Apparently the Chao Phraya Dam in Chai Nat will increase the discharge rate to 2,900 to 3000 cubic metres a second from Saturday which will cause the water level to rise by 10-15 cm.
  8. Which router are you using and what speeds are you getting? It seems difficult to find one that supports band 40 with 3CA without spending a fortune.
  9. If the former leaseholder built the hotel and paid for the contents doesn't the contents of the hotel still belong to them when the lease expires? Or does the land owner get everything for free? It seems unwise to invest anything into a 30 year lease that you have no power to renew.
  10. Interesting story although maybe she has a closer relationship with him than what she told you. Now where can I find myself a nice teenage student Chinese girl? (Presumably she's over 18).
  11. That's still quite an achievement losing over a billion baht a month. And I'm not sure if the author understands percentages correctly...if something decreased by 100% wouldn't it be zero already?
  12. I believe the two prior extensions charge a flat 15 baht fare regardless of the number of stops, so this new rate of up to 44 baht just for the extensions alone seems excessive.

    Large size shoe

There is a great shoe store at Union mall called Shoe Shi, they sell leather shoes imported from Italy at reasonable prices. They have a limited selection for larger sizes but they can custom order many styles for no extra cost if you can wait a few weeks. I bought some EU size 47s from there a few months ago which they ordered especially for me and delivered to my door, all for less than 2000 baht.
  14. NGV is the cheapest at around 15.6 baht/kg. But you're right there aren't many stations around, luckily I live right next to one. At first I thought LPG was cheaper but it's sold by the litre and the density is much lower so one litre is only around half a kilogramme.
  15. He has an interesting definition for the word "maximum".
  16. They can definitely leave Thailand on a foreign passport, you just need to show the Thai birth certificate at Thai immigration. Like I said before, I left with my son in 2019 and he has never even had a Thai passport. All children are exempt from overstay fines. Thai citizens can also not be deported or fined when they reach adulthood as that would be against the constitution.
  17. My son is half Thai (born in Thailand) and I traveled alone with him to the UK a few years ago on his British passport. Immigration pulled me aside when leaving but allowed us to leave after calling his mother to check I had permission...they said I should have got an official document from the district office though. Since then he has always entered Thailand on his British passport so he's treated as a foreigner and no questions asked when leaving.
  18. So would they rather Burmese migrants slaving away for peanuts instead of the poor monkeys?
