Public Indecency at Wat Phra Kaew Spurs National Outrage and Debate
rumeaug replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Given the severe drought situation. No liquid shall be waisted. People shall be able to urinate on the lawns and trees. Save the planet. -
I am not against cannabis being legal. The trouble is many consumers mistake "legal" and "i'll do WTF i want and screw everyone else" retard/immature kind of attitude. By that I am refering to smoking the stuff in public and having no choice to breathe it in, like it too often happens, at least in my Hood where there is quite a significant number of foreigners. Keep it private and away from others (i'd like to say the same about tobacco).

British tourist arrested with cocaine hidden in passport
rumeaug replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Not a smart move. But i think that the punishment in Thailand for possession of such ridiculous amounts like this is crazy. In the meantime you can be high as a kite on Marijuana or blind drunk at the wheel and not much will happen.... -

Health Ministry approves medical use of opium and magic mushrooms
rumeaug replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No. Legalizing psilocybin and opium for medical use is not about making it available to the public. These substances are widely legalized around the world for clinical use, psychotherapy or pain management....Thailand had a huge lack in this domain (notably about morphine use for cancer patients and other cases...). It is finally catching up. That's it. just hope it will not, like it was (is) the case in the USA, create an opioid apocalypse with some avenues in many cities turned into zombiland. -

Bangkok Launches Major Pavement Renovation Project

As a kid growing up in France in one of its many medieval small towns & villages dating back to medieval times (if not roman times) i was used to streets covered by old cobblestones. Bangkok side walks looks like the ultimate luxury to me 🙂 -
Foreigner's Shocking Behavior On Soi 4 Sparks Outrage in Bangkok [videos]
rumeaug replied to george's topic in Bangkok News
Well, the guy is clearly not in his right mind. Mental issues, some form of early onset of dementia or so...As per some comments on soi4. Must admit i've been there countless of times and it's actually not the place where i saw the worst behaviours, far from it . Mostly people walking around half-bored actually, like in a shopping mall (which it is, in a way...). (ps : i did relieve myself once between 2 cars in Spain after some bad tapas in a seedy bar in Madrid's hot spot. Sometimes it just goes straight through you like a lighting bolt and there is nothing you can do 🙂 -
The baffling 27 years of Richard Burrows, aka. ‘Peter Smith’
rumeaug replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Quite a fit :). But until let say the mid-2010's, it was still "relatively" easy to stay under the radar etc....Thailand has changed enormously in just the past 10 years ( Well.. so has the rest of the world indeed). "Easy going" is definitely a word from the past now in so many ways. Gone are the days. -

Thailand primes for haze mitigation ahead of Songkran festival
rumeaug replied to snoop1130's topic in Chiang Mai News
oh yeah?...161 today in Bangkok currently 15.2 times the WHO annual air quality guideline value -
I understand traditions. But drought in Thailand is really severe, so are water restrictions in many areas. Sometimes it's necessary to adapt to extreme circumstances and sorry but yes, prohibit the waste of water in such cases. Or, why not, move the water play during the rainy season (?). Songkran can also be fun without water spills and just dancing the night away in the streets 🙂

Except for construction and agriculture workers (who are mostly from myanmar and other poorer neighboring countries anyways..) , damn the Thais have gone from Laurel to Hardy in just the past 15 years or so. fat and jelly fish like gelatinous flesh . Gross.

Western Engineer Assaults Pattaya Bar Women In Row Over Bill

I am not a big advocate of cannabis nor against its use as long as people consume it privately and away from public spaces like streets etc.... ( people who smoke it in public places where you have no choice but to breathe it in if you pass by. That is immature and irresponsible). i also think that THC levels that are sold are sometimes way too high. Now, the damages caused by alcohol are devastating, and the governements still promote it carelessly. It sucks.
