  1. Trump’s inaugural spectacle, from Melania’s striking outfit to Barron Trump’s towering presence, encapsulated the grandeur and assertiveness that some Britons feel is missing in their political landscape. Figures like JD Vance, who embodies the American Dream, further fuelled the longing for leadership that champions the working class and eschews politically correct quotas in favor of natural diversity. I have never read such utter tripe since.......nope....since forever.
  2. It is, to be fair, an excellent example of how the hard of thinking can easily be swayed. Why aren't the Brits going to land on Mars? Britons looking on with a mix of awe and envy.......really? .........left some British onlookers wishing for a similar figure who would unapologetically place their country’s needs first......... Just what the Brits want?....the likes of Farage signing executive orders and issuing them like confetti.....no thanks. As articles go in the Telegraph, this has to be one of the most atrocious I have ever read......if I didn't know better I would have said riclag had written it with the help of Musk.
  3. Why Some Brits Thank God Everyday They Don't Live In Donald Trump's America....... Better.

Mech Eng (Newcastle)1975-1978 Student MBA (OU) 1985-1991 During this time I went from Engineer to main board director Physics (York) 1993-1996 Student Nothing remarkable to be honest.....remarkable bit , looking back, was coping with being a single dad of four kids (6-16), moving abroad to start a new career, new job in a new country.

  9. Formation of the Nazi Party: Some descriptions of the early years of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP), including its growth and Hitler’s rise to prominence, are verifiable. Weimar Republic Politics: Hitler accurately describes the fragmented nature of Weimar politics, with frequent changes in leadership and strong ideological divisions. Germany Post-WWI: The book discusses Germany’s socio-economic struggles after World War I, including the Treaty of Versailles, hyperinflation, and political instability, which align with historical realities. Military Service: Hitler's service in the Bavarian Army during World War I, including his role as a dispatch runner and his receipt of the Iron Cross, is corroborated by military documents. Early Life: Hitler’s accounts of his childhood in Austria, his move to Vienna, and his early struggles as an aspiring artist align in part with historical records.

  16. So I can bring my UK government pension into Thailand (leaving my State and private pensions in the UK) and as the Thais don't have a category for that type of pension it will be tax free....bonus....cheers.
  17. ...and a government pension?
  18. Tories are on to it.......! Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Conservative Party, has indicated that the party may consider means-testing the state pension triple lock. The triple lock ensures that the state pension increases annually by the highest of average earnings growth, inflation, or 2.5%. In an interview with LBC, Badenoch stated, “We’re going to look at means-testing… I’m someone who always said, for example, that millionaires should not be getting the winter fuel payment.”
  19. Benefit Fraud: According to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), in the 2023/24 financial year, approximately £7.4 billion Tax Evasion: His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC) estimates that in the 2022/23 financial year, the overall tax gap—the difference between the amount of tax that should theoretically be collected and what is actually collected—was £39.8 billion Baron robbers getting away with 'murder'.
  20. But the government have provided a few special rooms with filtered air to which you can go for health reasons .....so it's not all bad.
  21. I agree.....it is the same in the UK...."a government pension is a state pension".....but it's not, and not many people understand the importance of distinguishing between a state pension and a government pension.....certainly for this topic of taxes at least. Let's leave it there.
  22. So not about pensions remitted from abroad?
