I have no doubt that Thailand's idea of "travel bubble" will be very different to other countries interpretation of it.
Just like Thailand's quarantine free entry includes the day 1 and day 5 testing bonus with the prize being an escorted trip to a chosen incarceration centre.
Then it's pay up for your care and hope that your insurer covers the cost.
I would remind readers that as omicron is on the increase in Thailand, day 1 to day 5 self isolation might be a good idea.
What fun.

I use a broker.
You can do things like that when you have money.
I wouldn't want to live in Spain. Sorry.
If you want to live there, that's great.
I can afford to live where i like.
I think that option may not be open to you.
Please send another emoji.
Is there a poor emoji?

Thanks.
Must admit this is worrying on a number of levels. Not least for those in hospital.
If history is anything to go by, then restrictions will be increased.
Looks like 20% boosted just isn't good enough and seemingly no urgency.

As posted earlier in this thread, that's getting harder and harder to do in Thailand lately...
Thailand COVID hospitalization (real ones, not "hospitels" and such) -- tripled:
Jan. 4 -- 17,280
Feb. 1 -- 40,590
Feb 10 -- 51,435
Are these hospitalisations with covid or because of covid?
The UK's hospitalisations due to covid where relatively low with omicron.
Many patients where admitted for other reasons and just happened to test positive for covid in hospital.
Would be interesting to know.

That's honest of you.
It's because of people like you warning of the pitfalls, that, hopefully, some of my younger generation will take into account, inflation, currency risk, frozen pensions and health insurance issues as we get older.
Personally, i would rather spend 4-6 months in Thailand and Spring, Autumn in the UK.
Enjoy both options and come and go with a suitcase as required.

It'll come.
Some of you "wiser types" have been filling up mortuaries worldwide because you knew better and did your own research.
University of YouTube graduates.
Seems countries with high double jabbed and boosted populations are heading back to normal real quickly.
That, of course, does not include third world Thailand.
Maybe you would be good enough to share your real world scientific and medical qualifications.

No, Omicron is not endemic in Thailand.
Here's a hint: endemic diseases do not cause hospitalizations to triple in a month.
.
Here's a hint.
Take off your rose tinted glasses, turn on a TV and see what's happening in the developed world.
The real spread of covid in Thailand is as limited as the testing and reporting allow.
You keep your tin hat on, the rest of us are moving on.

Could I read some envy that I live in Spain? And envy that I don't need a visa once and then?????
When you own a couple of properties outright in the UK, you can live pretty much anywhere you want.
The rent alone would support that, let alone the capital value increases.
The secret is not selling the asset and giving yourself a world of choices.
Spain, Thailand, wherever.
I like options.

He’s right though. As a Brit I’d rather live in Spain than the UK right now. It’s also not his fault if he can’t afford a place in the UK. I’m on an average salary and needed my parents help - not everyone is so fortunate.
And not everybody burned their bridges and sold property in the UK on a whim to go live in Thailand.
Don't blame the UK for your own decisions.
One poster was complaining is UK state pension had been frozen for 15 years when moving to Thailand.
Well guess what? Your UK state pension is frozen if you become an expat in Thailand.
The financial illiteracy on this forum is staggering at times.

Wrong again.
Spanish tourist sector seen reaching 88% of pre covid levels.
Thailand 40 million 2019, 400,000 2021.
That's 1% of pre covid levels.
Your comparing a developed country with Thailand.
That's like comparing apples and .... bricks.

Possibly in the top ten worst investments ever but Harry seems like putty in the hands of those pretty Thai real estate agents.

All i'm saying is the new T and G is 1000 times better than 2 weeks quarantine, or are you suggesting it's not?
The process is easy, i applied 14 minutes and got TP in 40 hours, what's so difficult?
I hope Songkran is cancelled and hope thailand remains quiet, could n't care less if tourists come or not.
Is it too difficult for you and that's why you're not coming or have you been here the whole time so have no idea how the re-entry process works?
Thinking of your fellow adopted Thai citizens again Harry.
Think most people on this forum worked out long ago you couldn't care less about anyone but yourself.
I know it takes a few attempts to explain things to you but here's a clue.

But , let us face it, none of the other destinations , Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore (?!), Philippines, Dubai (?!) etc. etc. Well, none match what Thailand has to offer. What more, there is NO mass exodus of Westerners from Thailand ( a wishful think-aloud of the disgruntled few !!)
Yes, Thailand needs to streamline, make-easy a few stringent rules it has put in place because of the pandemic. And this is likely to happen sooner than expected (hopefully) .
So, enjoy , live , be happy .. life is beautiful , let us make the journey a merry tale for ourselves, for those with us and for posterity to smile ...
It was heck of a ride !!
Yip a drop from 40 million tourists to 400,000 is a "few".

Only about 24% of Thailand has receive the third booster dose of COVID vaccine that the medical authorities say is necessary to fully protect against Omicron. Right now, there are 50,000 plus people hospitalized in Thailand with COVID, and a slightly larger number in field hospitals or other alternate facilities (dunno if that counts home quarantine or not). Only about 66% of Thailand's age 60 and older population has even received TWO vaccine doses thus far.
I believe I saw in a news report the other day regarding Sweden dropping a lot of their COViD restrictions, they said something like 70% or so of their senior citizen population had received 3 COVID doses (largely mRNA in their case). Thailand is nowhere close to that.
Thailand's shambolic vaccination campaign unfortunately coming home to roost.
In the UK covid now has a similar mortality rate to seasonal flu.
That's what happens when omicron hits a fully boosted population wall.

With Thai Pass you can apply from anywhere, does n't matter, it will not complicate anything.

Good for you Harry.
25,000 "tourists" projected to arrive in February to "no quarantine" Thailand.
A drop in the ocean.
Looks like people are not seeing things through your rose tinted delusional glasses.
With the CCSA discussing increasing, yes increasing, restrictions for Valentines Day and Songkran, most normal people will be giving Thailand a wide berth.
Meanwhile, the UK and the developed world are accepting covid as an endemic disease.
No one's buying the "welcoming foreign tourist" scam anymore.
With the changes in asymptomatic insurance definition looks like your Lord Haw-Haw proganda routine just got even harder.

As far as I am concerned the only way to overcome this is to keep the safety measures in effect. People who don't even have a stake here keep crying to open up the floodgates... Selfish mongers who only think of the party side of life in Thailand.

Proof of mongers is in the pudding... because if the numb skull tourists who want to come on vacation here are covid + they will have to isolate and pay for treatment through the nose. I'm just sitting back watching what will unfold and when the time comes I will have a great big somnomna smile for the ones who rushed to open up.
Omicron is already endemic in Thailand.

Yes, it's less serious for most, but it's also more infectious.
So, I really don't mind at all if Thailand remains cautious and tries at least to slow things down.
More hysteria.
Due to omicron. Not as simple as that.

And poverty in Thailand has absolutely nothing to do with COVID deaths, and the fact that Thailand has beat the US by far in the handling of the COVID pandemic.
If your only counter arguments are that there’s a lot of poverty in Thailand, it’s laughable. Because that’s a very different thing that we can discuss on a different topic about poverty in Thailand ????
When people discuss about A, keep the discussion focused on A. Don’t bring B as an excuse for A when it’s totally unrelated.
Specially provided the US is not the better example one can come up with when talking about poverty. Ask the Appalachians if you don’t believe me. ????
You lose again.
Unemployment as a result of covid. No Thai government support. Thailand manipulating the figures.

What is the covid death rate in the USA?
Despite your personal opinions or rather badly masked prejudices, like it or not Thailand along with other less developed nations have been highlighted as world leaders in the way they dealt with the covid crisis. I'm sure mistakes have been made here which you choose to highlight whilst ignoring the chaos and lockdowns and riots in civilised europe, the resurgence in australia, the idiocy in NZ, the USA/UK death rates the horror of China..Compared to the rest of the world Thailand has done well mainly due to the people not the goverment. You are free to travel where you want so go..
Do you really believe the figures given to you by the Thai government?
You really believe a country that proactively tests about 40,000 people?
You have no idea what Thailand's real figures are.
You repeat the same mantra day after day.
The only certainty is the lack of Thai government fiscal and economic support for their citizens.
This is what happens to countries that purchase vaccines early, get their population vaccinated early and start to live with covid, opening up their borders and economies.
