  1. All seems petty to me .... he is the French President, can't figure out why he thinks these prosecutions work to his advantage - isn't if beneath his dignity? I'm old enough to remember all the slander that followed Obama and his wife, alleging he's gay and she's a tranny which was met with a mere shrug.
  2. Suicidal empathy ... They can't even bring themselves to call a rape a rape - it just called exploitation. Scandalous cover-up. no effort to seriously prosecute anyone - how can the MET be trusted?
  3. Digital forensic evidence showed a member of security at the Louvre was in contact with individuals thought to be the perpetrators prior to the brazen daylight robbery on Oct.19, the Telegraph reported Saturday. 4. Maybe Amazon should contact customer service. I've been advised that simply unplugging the servers, wait at least 30 seconds and plug them back in works.
  5. Nice clear and concise report. Thanks for taking the time to report all the details on retirement extension
  6. I couldn't be more confused or less informed having read this article. Article starts by ruling out any political motivation, then cites a politically motivated crime as a concerning pattern yet continues to simultaneously insist they are examining all possibilities. Scratching my head ....
  7. Heading up to the temple to do some merit making on this momentous occasion 🙏
  8. Encouraging development Still a long ways to go to get a comprehensive agreement to end the conflict. So many previous attempts have failed when it gets down to the details. Must admit that I didn't see this coming, so, I'm optimistic that all parties can arrive at a final settlement, 🙏
  9. Even Tylenol themselves, back in 2017. did not recommend it for usage in pregnant women !!
  10. Strikes me that the whole recognition thing is more like a political stunt than of substance. Provisional, no plan to get an agreement on the borders or to end the conflict. Without any of that there is no Palestinian state to recognize.
  11. Macron is not doing himself any favors, why would he stoop so low as to a defamation suit against a troll. I don't recall lawsuits from Obama for the "Big Mike" trolling, Trudeau for all the claims he is the spawn of Fidel Castro, etc ... he's a weak leader, too emotional.
  12. It's really all rather pathetic, a decade of being labeled Nazi, fascists, white supremacists, racists, misogynists, far-right, uneducated, nothing but smears non-stop - not to mention the collaboration of the white house with social media companies to censor - boo hoo hoo, cry me a river. Even Kamala was advocating for the censorship of Presidents Trumps twitter account in the run-up to the election.
  13. I used to think that these kind of shows were of some value .... in fact they are not. They always seek to persuade one to doubt the guilt because of this or that but never divulge all of the evidence that was used to convict. I hope they never get out.
  14. Pleases me that this show is gone. Now when I visit my sister that finds him funny and wants to rant about politics I don't have to regret my choice because she tunes into his show on Late Night Television. My previous remedy was about a dozen cocktails to prepare - on balance good for my health too!!
  15. That's not what happened at all. There was a legal agreement in place that set out the terms/framework for the operation of the business. Nobody operates a franchise like this without a contract/agreement. Highly likely the wife was a party to the agreement too. Under the terms of said agreement, he is now no longer operating the Texas Roadhouse at that location. Do you think the Roadhouse legal team had no input to the decision? I don't. He was legally relieved of his employment - of course pending any legal case that may be brought. But I don't expect to see a legal case/lawsuit be successful.
  16. This article says she was an owner of the restaurant and refers to him as an owner/operator too. Likely husband/wife co-owners. 'These comments, which were attributed to an owner of Texas Roadhouse in Milton, do not reflect the view of Texas Roadhouse,' the company said. 'After an investigation, the managing partner of this location is no longer employed by our company. We hope to see you again soon. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15104115/texas-roadhouse-owner-fired-wife-charlie-kirk-post.html
  17. That a good one that I had forgotten. For some reason The Sting always springs to mind for me. Maybe I subconsciously take some small pleasure seeing the rich guy get scammed!
  18. RIP Robert Redford, one of the biggest stars of a bygone era in film and one of the biggest promoters of the Independent Film movement as the founder of the Sundance Film Festival. What is your favorite film of his?
  19. This does not match my experience either, having used a fixed account for my extension for 20+ years at CW. I find it difficult to believe without a link to more information , who/where/when and the complete details of the circumstances.
  20. Maybe more details will emerge soon, President Trump on TV suggesting they have the suspect in custody
  21. 100% correct ... We have a right to use public transport without being butchered in our seats. We have a right to safe communities, where violent animals are rounded up and caged. This is not just a local crime. It’s a civil rights issue.
  22. This was a foreign investment that Biden bragged about ... and no MAGA types are celebrating illegal workers.
  23. The 11th circuit has ruled in the case ... no clue what the next legal step might be. But for now the prison can remain open.
  24. My wife works at the Head Offices of BBL, and I can say, there are lots of accounts effected and reviews are ongoing. Anyone who has been paying attention knows how this whole thing kicked off, it was the incident at BBL in Chonburi a few months ago. I don't know all the details about the customers effected, who/why but the general request for documents in the screenshot provided by @Mika78suggests why. It not a secret to anyone living here that Thailand has long been known as a hub for illegal banking activity. ( had to do that Hub word ) While BBL was the way it all started, other banks are under pressure too, from the Bank of Thailand and AMLO (anti money laundering organization). It just so happens that a woman who sells coffee and the like on my Soi at the weekends works at another bank and today she reports she is doing similar work reviewing accounts. All banks are under pressure of legal proceeding and and massive fines. I would suggest just putting together the documents they want and visiting your "home" branch. Show your visa and straighten it all out. While this whole episode began with BBL it is not aimed at farangs specifically. The underlying pressure (from BOT and AMLO) and direction of national banking policy is to limit foreigners (and perhaps some businesses) without legitimate reasons to reside here, from holding accounts. Hope those of you effected get your accounts back, good luck and best wishes. Just my 2 pence/cents/shekels worth ... and no I don't have more details
  25. I'm not going to defend him either, appears guilty to me. He assaulted an officer with a Deli weapon, the officer was later treated for his injuries at the Mayo Clinic
