...and he'll be arrested on the spot.
Actually, the Thai society would be much better off without the likes of the Shinawatra gang. They can do better if their hearts are in it.
He’ll be returning as the father of the new Prime Minister, he’ll be fine. When he does arrive back in town, Thaksin will probably go watch Avatar at the local IMAX (large popcorn and coke - exorbitant cinema concession prices are also of no concern to Dr T).

I love how you think calling Dylan by his birth name is clever. It isn’t. You aren’t.

Agree. Do not pass Go, but straight from the plane to jail. He's already been convicted, I understand.
You understand very little.
Go read To Kill a Mockingbird.
Then you will understand.

And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin

Actually, if one really wanted to explore deeper, you might find that they're all electoral/political poison.
Belonging to the same club.....sort to speak.
The nature of things.
Gibberish.
Thaksin is electoral gold - he wins votes.
The others are poison - couldn’t get elected to sh!t.

Pravit is Thaksin's only hope. Without his support, and from those above, he has no hope of returning as a free man
You underestimate Thaksin’s (and Yingluck’s) popularity and the public hatred of all those responsible for the last 8 years. Should we return to coloured street mobs - Reds will outnumber Yellows 100 to 1. Those above ain’t what they used to be, the democracy monument plaque will be restored. Thaksin will do as he pleases.

You don't think Thaksin and Pheua Thai would join hands with Pravit and fellow coup supporters if it meant bringing Thaksin home?
Thaksin don’t need Prawit.
Everyone in the current regime is electoral poison. Nothing to be gained by linking up with (politically) dead men walking. The daughter will do just fine.
Will vengeance then be served???

And if the police try to arrest a criminal and the criminal runs away then police have the right to shoot him, after they warn him.
And let's not forget that Thaksin basically ordered the killing of thousands of drug suspects - without any evidence and no judge. So he should be able to understand the concept of targeting criminals. But of course he thinks he is different.
Thaksin can travel the world free as a bird because interpol don’t pursue bogus charges. Is that so difficult for you to understand? You appear to know very little about the “drug war”. Why is there not, nor has there ever been any charges filed against Thaksin for the “drug war”?

Jatupon's a bit slow. It's been as plain as day ever since Thaksin's landslide win back at the beginning of the millennium that he has no interest in democracy' it's not my goal', as he said.
The red shirts were simply one part of his arsenal, buying up as many MPs ( 80 MPs from NAP, if I recall right), was another.
He once explained his political strategy to be like his phone business- dominate the market, take over rivals so opposition is weak.
Who can forget the pathetic spectacle of Jatupon, Nattawut and Viera negotiating with Abhisit about dissolving Parliament for an election but unable to reach a decision before the big boss, the man with the money, gave the go ahead.
The red shirts were always just a tool to enable Thaksin to return, the talk of democracy just a cover.
Pheua Thai would join Prawit at the drop of a hat if it meant Thaksin could come back.
Advertised as reconciliation to move the country forward beyond the colour coded politics, the idealistic Red Shirts will turn their back on Thaksin, disgusted but the vast majority of rural red shirts won't give a flying fluck as long as the populist policies continue to flow
Nonsense.

What sort of democracy are we speaking of?
One without 250 unelected Senators, where the courts aren’t used to ban opposition parties and candidates on trumped up charges and international observers are welcome at elections.

Obviously it is sad that Jatuporn needed years to understand this. But at least finally he understands it. Bravo.
I never thought I would agree with Jatuporn. It seems there is still a little hope.
Nothing to see here.
Jutaporn did a deal to get out of jail. The bromance shall be rekindle once the daughter is PM.
BTW - there is no surprise in you agreeing with anyone who is at odds with Thaksin, the obsession is irrational and ridiculous.-

We keep taling about getting rid of the big money brown envelope politics. That is part of what Thaksin was and is.
This want a government that is not going to be filled with corruption and shady deals.
The only way he should come back is to either face the charges or accept them, Granting him and his sister immunity is not what is needed as it creates a precedence for every leader or politician before and after him.
It really is such a stupid premise you guys insist on regurgitating. Thailand’s transition to a less corrupt society is not going to happen overnight with the appearance of a white knight in shining armour, it will be gradual, a step by step building of institutional powers and resilience. First and foremost, democracy must be restored. Truth and Reconciliation worked wonderfully in South Africa when Mandela became president - I think it would be the best path forward here. Tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth and face no punishment, fall short of this standard then you will be prosecuted and if guilty, jailed. Military dictatorship is the worst of all possible realities - by a long long way.

Interesting.
Thaksin’s arrival back in Thailand is going to be bigger than The Beatles.
Massive outpourings of affection and much much smaller, but no less intense, sprinklings of hatred.
Thaksin here before the election, Pheu Thai wins 400 seats.
Thaksin here at any time, Prayuth checks himself into an asylum.
Bring it on.

What has 'kool aid' got to do with anything? I'm not a Ynak, so have never drank it anyway.
Not sure what you mean by 'tin foil hat', please explain.
Happy to help:
What was the Jonestown Kool-Aid?From a vat, his people drank the cyanide-laced punch, which birthed the phrase “drinking the Kool-Aid,” referring to those who blindly and foolishly follow something.
Saying someone is "wearing a tin foil hat" or "is a tin foil hat" means that they have paranoia or a belief in conspiracy theories, especially involving government surveillance or paranormal beings.-

You missed out the extra-judicial executions of 1000s of innocent people in his 2003 war on drugs. This alone is enough to ban him for ever. I remember his daughter when she was at the school I taught at in 1997 or so, around the time her father made billions by starting the Asian financial crisis when he was Deputy Prime minister or Minister of Finance in Big Jew's govt.
I find it very sad when I hear many foreigners praise this guy, based on what they hear from their Isarn gf. Visas would still be 500 baht if it weren't for this guys xenophobic policies, which is funny as he is a typical Chinaman.
You’ve imbibed too much of the kool aid. You’re meant to just sip it whilst wearing a tin foil hat.

At least its less then in the US and Thailand
From the corruption perception index 8 out the first 10 countries are western Europe
THe USA is not even in the top 10 but Nr 27 (no wonder you guys are used to corruption)
and Thailand 110 in that index
The point is this, corruption exists in every society no matter what the political structure. Societies with free speech, a free press, rule of law and a functioning multi party democracy have lower levels of corruption.
Why on earth would you want to deny Thailand the above mentioned anti corruption mechanisms by pretending there is no difference between elected governments and juntas?BTW - I am not American, you’re wrong again.

Gonna be a while, yet.
And then when it does come about, it'll take another good generation for the society and political workings to come around from the eras of this type of rule and all of it's associated misdealing.
You’re making the classic mistake of projecting your own limitations and shortcomings onto others.
The truth is, Thailand is already 95% of the way there (to becoming an open, democratic society that is).
