  1. Understood, which makes the whole tedious process which is really difficult for a single guy, not worth it. The benefit of the yellow book for me would be to bypass stopping by the immigration office for a residence letter every five years to renew my drivers license or the occasion I decided to open a new bank account. As it is now I get a residence letter from my condo admin, take it to IMM (small outside office) pay 500 baht and get a residence certificate good for 30 days can be used for both DL renewal and opening accounts.
  2. You are partially correct but the Thai banking system did not put a stop to use of EFT's via the US ACH system, the US government put the stop to it! This was all from the H. Clinton anti terrorist measures during the Obama administration but didn't come about till Trump was in office. She was concerned that money was being funded out of the USA to terrorists abroad using this system causing much pain for us normal EXPATS abroad. As far as I was able to ascertain, only BBL had a registered ACH account for Thai banks in the USA (New York branch). The ACH via BBL is still allowed for those US EXPAT receiving payments via the Social Security System and the IRS will even use the same account for refund deposits so long as you have your SSA benefits deposited that way.
  3. Actually a Thai drivers license would suffice to send mail via Flash, I do it all the time. The real benefit of the pink card for falang is you get into national parks at the same price as Thai.
  4. Don't use the card, use the ACH routing number (bank) and account number that the card debits from and it'll go right through.
  5. Follow Dr Jack's advice, go to immigration, show your departure ticket and get the 7 day extension. At the IMM KIOSK in Hua Hin Bluport mall I saw a guy get the 7 day extension for free...... Even if you get charged 1900 baht for extension it is still cheaper then all the other ways and less trouble.
  6. I received my new passport back in September 2022 in just three weeks time
  7. I'd like to recommend a very inexpensive service "Getflix" Aussie based and works well here in Thailand. What's special about their service is how you can tailor their DNS and VPN services. DNS is great as many devices and smart TV's don't support VPN, I use their DNS service with my Apple TV, using the closest DNS server which is in Malaysia. Bandwidth is unaffected (no slowdown) on streaming. What is special about this service is you can select what countries you want to unlock for whichever services. I.e. they give you the ability to steam UK, USA Brazil or many different Netflix services. I just used a few of the countries available, Swiss services are also available. Also what is cool you can turn a stream redirect off from their APP if you would like to use the local stream. I find this great here in Thailand as Thai Netflix often has the new series before the Netflix of my home country. Same as many others have mentioned about radio, my home station I cannot listen to unless I use the VPN for my city and then their APP works perfectly listening to baseball and talk radio. So try their free trial period and see if it works for your needs.
  8. I'm not sure what you mean by the 10 key model, but here is the advertisement from the seller I purchased from. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i3071735475-s11270146580.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1&tradePath=omItm&tradeOrderId=604605239993922&tradeOrderLineId=604605240093922&spm=spm%3Da2o4m.order_details.item_title.1
  9. I bought mine here in Thailand off Lazada, it is the english only keys version! I don't think this model is available with Thai on the keys.
  10. I have the MX Keys Mini for my Mac and I love it. Backlighting is great, battery life great, Keys are quiet and comfortable (large enough). I use it on my MacOS via Bluetooth with no issues whatsoever, what issues do you have that you state will only work with the unifying USB dongle? I use mine with a MacMini 2018 model. It's the best keyboard I have used in many years.
  11. In the case of Lazada reviews I always use Google Translate, copy the review then paste into Translate.... works really well.
  12. My issue when I was using a well in Korea was either the pump needed to be primed (usual issue, which means pouring water into the orifice while running), or issues with the grey colored solenoids (#48 in the diagrahm) which are easily replaced, they just screw on and off. I would suggest a prime as the pump hadn't been used in a while. Also the contacts in the solenoid will carbon up from lack of use.
  13. I also am in the market for a new pickup, still haven't decided if I will get a 4 door or the extended cab version. I'm leaning to the 4 door models but would like the extra bed length of the extended cab. My GF has a good friend whom sells for Mazda, she offered us a good finance option that I almost pulled the trigger on last December, however she called the GF recently to tell her that Mazda Thailand is leaving the pickup sales business as they don't sell enough of them and that there is too much competition. I spoke with a mate whom has owned both recent Isuzu and Mitsubishi models. He stated to me that the Isuzu with the 1.9L engine was total crap and that the Mitsubishi with the 2.4L engine is the sweet spot (especially if you are going AT). Correct me if I'm wrong, but many of the Isuzu dealers charge extra for bumpers and steps, those were included as well as a bed liner in my Mitsubishi quote. However the Mits is not cheap 4 door AT with most the whistles 920,000 baht. A similar Isuzu with the 1.9L would run around 750,000 baht.
  14. Happened to me as well last week, it is I believe on account of the browser being refreshed, loss of cookies. Only took me 3 minutes to establish my identity. I believe my situation was caused by a security update to the Safari browser on my MacOS computer. If I would have placed the transfer via the APP on my phone probably wouldn't have been an issue.
  15. As of today it appears that the Bivalent vaccine is in short supply here in Thailand. Hua Hin hospital (Prachuap Khiri Khan) has reported only 150 doses available of the Moderna version and that they have decided that the vaccine will be only for Thai..... Thank god when I saw that the Bivalent version was available (Both Pfizer and Moderna) back in April I went next day and got the Pfizer free of charge. I suggest you follow the local Facebook sites which they use to advertise availability.
  16. USA embassy provided a document for me November 2022 when I went through the process didn't have to request it, it was included with return of old and new passport.
  17. I just went through the process last November with my Non-O retirement. The US Embassy will take about three weeks to receive the new passport, I filled out the application online and mailed in the application and all the supporting documents including receipt of payment that you make at the US Government web site. They have a nice checklist you need to follow so as to insure you won't miss something and cause a delay or have the package returned. You will also need to visit a Thai bank and get a check for 100 baht to cover return postage for your old and new passports. Overall the service was very easy and I never had to go to BKK and visit the embassy. Upon receipt of the new passport you will need copies of all relevant stamps from the old passport and a copy of the new passport to take to immigration, there is a form titled "Transfer Stamp to new passport" that you will use (it doesn't have the typical TM form number) and a fee of 500 baht for IO. It was painless, I did it myself at the Prachuap Khiri Khan Immigration office at Hua Hin. I have no idea about if your company can do it for you, I always handle all my immigration requirements myself.
  18. Actually there is no limit on your transfers, bye default BKL sets the limit to 50K, however you can go into the website or APP and increase the amount to handle your needs. I.e. I recently bought a home and had the same situation A friend told me to increase my XFER amounts in the APP, then I had no issues at all.
  19. Nobody asked the simple question, did your agent collect the 5700 baht fee for TM7 at 1900 baht + another 3800 baht for the multiple entry exit extension TM8? Or just the 1900 baht extension fee. As others mentioned if 1900 (TM7) baht extension just exit country without entry permit to cancel visa. If you have the multiple entry permit (TM8) I would suggest either asking the IO at your departure to cancel your Multi permit or go to an IMM office and have them down grade it for you.
  20. my simple take on your issue is to come in on a tourist 30 day, extend it for another 30 days, then you have the grace period of 7 days in both instances, ie. apply for 30 day extension 1 at say 34 days then get your extension. show up at airport for departure and there should be no issue.
  21. YES it is the latest BIVALENT available the Pfizer or Moderna versions here is a photo I took at San Paolo:
  22. In Hua Hin (Prachuap Khiri Khan) it has been offered free to all (Thai and Farang), received mine last week at the San Paolo Hospital. There was absolutely no queue and the process was completed in 25 minutes. Also I had the choice of the Pfizer or Moderna Bivalent. Only needed passport and if you bring your immunization card they will add the vaccination to your card.
  23. I am in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province (Hua Hin) however I'm not sure if the online 90 day reports are done at BK or if they forward them to your local office? Anybody know how that is handled? But the strange thing about my situation this year is they extended the next due 90 day report past my visa extension date.
  24. That attempt that WISE stated will not arrive until the 8th was to be placed on the 1st (a holiday). I then attempted to model another transfer on the 3rd for the same amount and it went thru same day. Funny how they work, if you see along time for transfer try it again a different day. As another member mentioned, larger amounts take more time to BBL via WISE. Since I had to go to IMM yesterday I did the paper to open a new bank account and did so yesterday with Kashikorn. Transfers from WISE to KBank are instantaneous as I believe WISE keeps their funds in KBank.
