  1. Look at the bright side of this Ben. Soon you can finally come out of the closet..
  2. So this was all due to the karma from this Thai-Nowegian couples' past lives? Sounds plausible, case closed, good police-work.
  3. Careful using the i-word.. Nobody kept anything in their back pockets. Read for comprehension.
  4. How can anyone be surprised by this? It was in the cards after the swiss and russians started kicking locals, that there would be some kind of reaction. So far the reaction is to more strictly enforce already existing laws, which is perfectly fine and understandable. The problems start if or when they decide to introduce new laws and restrictions that will more severely hamper our lives here.. In any case, blaming the Thais for this is ridiculous. If you absolutely need to point your finger at anyone, do so at those who come to los and spectacularly misbehave and break the law.
  5. If you only get your news through this site and other English language media here, you may fall under the impression that most only foreigners are targeted by the bib. This is not the case. In my time here I've been stopped quite a few times, and only got fined when there was legal cause to do so, and several Thai drivers were stopped alongside me. If you read the Thai language media, you will see extensive reporting on Thai drivers and their escapades..
  6. If, now, immigration let her stay, then the message is clear; it's okay for russians to kick pregnant thai women, when in Thailand. You must, however, be ready to fork out 500 baht if, and only if, the victim decides to press charges against you..
  7. Bob, for a 'native', you don't seem to know much about Thailand at all..
  8. Farang is not abusive, it simply means (Caucasian) foreigner. The N-word IS abusive. I find Thai people to be extremely welcoming and tolerant of other people and cultures. Expect it to change as more entitled misbehaving pos from around the world keeps attacking them physically...
  9. I was here at that time, and as opposed to what followed him, Thaksin was actually elected by the people. I did not experience any more xenophobia then, than before or especially after.. And I can certainly not recall any officials commenting on 'dirty foreigners', as was the case with the non-elected govt that followed.
  10. Lol, blaming this on the return of thaksin is beyond ridiculous and smells of conspiracy-theories..
  11. All for them cleaning up the place and getting rid of the thrash, but can't help but wonder how this all will affect the rest of us living here legally, peacefully and without acting like total aholes.. Increased screening might very well result in higher fees, new demands, and more paperwork that will further complicate our lives here..
  12. Well said, and I totally agree. This is not normal behaviour anywhere, and yet another example of how some foreigners leave behind their common sense, and more, as soon as they arrive here. There may come a time when Thailand needs to become more restrictive about who they let into los. And that, together with the Thai peoples deteriorating opinion of foreigners, will affect us all..
  13. 49% is not ownership. True, Americans have that option, but through a company, and with restrictions.. My point was, and still is, you, as a foreign person, can not own land in in los.
  14. Do your own thorough research, and trust yourself only. Foreigners can not own land in los, period.
  15. It's pretty simple really, don't break the law and you're okay..
  16. Your comments reveal just how little you know and understand, you silly little man..
  17. It's never appropriate to grope anyone without their consent.. Also, why are you loitering around prostitutes if you don't appreciate their attention? In any case, the story we are commenting under, did not take place in a red-light district. It happened in the tourist area of ksr, to women who were working in said tourist area, groped by two illmannered cretins who should learn to behave themselves, as guests in a foreign country.
  18. God, you're dim aren't you.. If you find yourself in a red-light district in it's active time of day, you are very likely there by choice. Otherwise, you, and everybody else, have numerous other roads you can travel.. In any case, a sex worker will not just grope anyone walking down this paricular street, minding their own business, and certainly not a child.. If you have a problem with this type of area, simply avoid it. If you live in this area and don't like it, move.
  19. That doesn't just happen on any public street in Thailand, and you (should) know it.. This could only happen if you are in a very limited number of sois in a limited number of towns, at a certain time of day, and it should be very obvious to you from the second you enter this particular soi, that this is a red-light district, and not any normal side-street, and it is then your choice to either turn around or to proceed into said red-light district...
  20. Even for someone completely ignorant of Thailand and Thai culture, it should be perfectly clear, only after a few hours in this country, that this is not normal nor accepted behavior by anyone. The vast majority of Thai people are very polite and well mannered indeed, and most foreigners visiting this beautiful country manage to hold themselves to a far higher standard than these two snit-stains...
  21. Are you serious? Go behave like that in, say, Holland, and see what happens...
  22. So, in your mind, if you have a valid work permit, you are exempt of any visa?
  23. No, but let's do it anyway. okay, I'll start.. Damned those ikea-furniture, they are so annoying to have to put together.
  24. So, not only does this swiss pos violently attack defenceless women from behind, and holds up ambulances in traffic giving them the middle finger, but he's also a gun-nut, carrying illegal firearms. If he was from the US he'd be voting for trump..
