Funny in parts, good for a laugh but not all factual. It’s an individual thing, look at Presidents around the world past and present. Sometimes older is wiser. We don’t just get old, but we grow old, it’s an aging process. Some adjust better than others, DNA, genetics etc. Difficult to generalize. Every hour that goes by we are an hour closer to our graves/ crematorium, not just days! That’s a fact of life.

Alcoholics with co-exisiting sex addiction
Tazmo replied to Andy F's topic in I Drink Too Much Forum
Addiction is a disease that needs treatment, then with rehabilitation you can live without suffering. Similar to a Diabetic having to make readjustments. ” Rock Bottom “ is when most seek help. Treatment usually involves relatives and education. Cross Addictions often occur, one may stop opiates but switch to alcohol and Vice versa, or switch to sex; gambling; internet; All related to dopamine levels in our brain, eg increases with exercise, a more acceptable option. Levels are said to be low in addicts, whereas Others may overindulge and get away with it. May not hit rock bottom but end up with cirrhosis of the liver. Liver Units in the UK are full. Or syphillis In the case of sex addiction. -
HD Prime TV is good for all Sports and TV programs at 380B per month. I know of some Sports Bars who use them. Plenty of Soccer, Cricket, Rugby, Aussie Rules etc etc All the various leagues, competitions and tournaments. I had found True Vision expensive and limited for Sports.

BTW the Bank has told me that only a Will will entitle my wife ( when married) to the 800,000B, and not a married certificate. A friend has just done a Will for his Partner for the release of the 800,000, should he die first.
-
Jurg asked about the cost of a Simple Will. I paid 6,500 THB in October 2019 in Chiang Mai
-
Some more good advice, thanks. I understand the g/f situation, I was wrongly using their description. But looking seriously at getting married.
-
Thanks for all the suggestions and advice. I will get another Thai Will to deal with access of the Fixed account in my Thai Bank and later when in the UK get a separate, UK Will.
-
My UK assets is only money in the bank there and the arrangement if for it to be divided equally to my 5 children in the UK

I have a Retirement Visa with the usual money required in my fixed account. what I would like to know is if I should die before my Thai wife, how can she access this money. I have a Will made in Thailand but have my son’s name as executor, as I felt that he would be able to deal with finances on the UK side more easily. My house and car here is in my wife’s name. We’re not legally married. Grateful for sharing your experience / advice in dealing with such a situation. Many thanks.

Why Not, a great Italian restaurant is a great choice. In Nimin, car park 50B nearby. Expensive wine but some cheap Thai beer! o’Mally’s in Anusarn market another top choice. Free car park.Guinness and good beers & wines UN Irish usually have 3 sittings, great selection but pricey and large portions. Car park at the back, behind Zoe’s. Great selection of drinks.Guinness included. -
Time taken for Wise transfer into Kasikorn Bank?

I have been using Wise for a few years. recently the money is in my account within 2 minutes or less -
If gambling is one of her problems, then she may very well need an addiction center. Many in Thailand with Thai speaking stafff. Residential Care is essential, addiction is not the easiest to treat. But the Thai Centers have Pyychologists and Psychiatrists, Non- residential or out patients could be a waste of time and money!
-
If you tried drugs and it didn’t work then she hasn’t a psychiatric problem!, her problem could be psychosocial. In which case a Psychologist or Counselor should be able to help. you have been sent some links. Maybe worth trying. Many Aussies have taken Thai women back. Some speak very good English, if you could find one as an Interptreter. Or as someone suggested, get her back to Thailand for treatment
-
My suggestion is to first get her assessed by a Psychiatrist. once a diagnosis has been established then a treatment plan would be recommended, this may involve seeing a Psychologist. I say this because I am not sure if your wife’s mental health issues are of a psychotic nature. if it is then Psychologist can only support or advice. She will need medication. I say this as a Retired Psychiatric Head Nurse with years of experience in the UK and here in Thailand. I visit the Psychiatric hospital here in Chiang Mai regularly and they are about 30 years behind time! But their medications are up to date. mindfullness, meditation, talking therapies don’t work for someone whose thinking is disturbed, even though they can hold down a job. The above is the way forward. You need to know what exactly is wrong with her. Mental Health problems is broad and vague. I know many Thais here with different types of mental health issues. Some are trauma linked to an early age. Others suffer from more irrational thoughts. Different approach needed depending on diagnosis. Hope you choose the correct path. Some Big Insurance Companies offer assessments online.

I am a Member of Air ASIA, I have an Air ASIA debit card from BKK bank. I get vouchers for red seat, baggage allowances and free drinks, depending on how much I use their card. It’s actually issued by BKK Bank. I have never had a problem, except you have to be careful booking online as some of their boxes are pre-ticked, so you have to ‘ untick’ them or you get charged for Insurance etc etc Any problems that I have with Airlines, I use my Twitter account to contact them. I get a swift reply and usually the problem is solved. I have a voucher from Qatar Airways which expires in December 2023, and trying to sort it out this way. Every time I try to book acUK flight, I get a reply that the voucher exceeds the amount. When I try to book for my partner as well, the response is that the voucher value is insufficient! They have given me a link to follow!

paying electricity online KK Bank
Tazmo replied to hadock's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I get my Thai Partner to pay all the bills. Far less stressful and easier for a Thai person to pay bills. I have even transfer my car to her name. She deals with all the Insurance, Road tax and when to get repairs done before switching Insurance company etc. she even pays her elderly mother’s electric bill, saves her going to the office. But sometimes the scanning doesn’t work! -

Transfer car ownership from foreigner to Thai national
Tazmo replied to Maxsm's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I have just done this, but not from abroad. I had to sign a form from the transport Office / Vehicle License Office, then the Thai National also has to countersign the same form. That’s all I had to do. The Thai National then took the car to the Vehicle License Office where the car was examined and an estimate made on the value of the car. You pay 600THB for every 100 000 THB of the car’s worth. so my car was valued at 150,000, and the Thai National therefore paid 855 THB, then a further 50 THB admin fee. That’s it -
