Government’s plans to court China ignores economic realities; puts Thailand at geopolitical risk
Where's the problem? Tourism is not zero sum. Increasing flights from country A has no effect on flights from countries B thru Z. Targeting a country with nearly a quarter of the world's population that's only a cheap 2-hour flight away (or a quick high-speed rail trip) is a bad thing?

a friend who might move here
If you don't know his situation, how would knowing the average ex-pat's financials matter? Ask your friend what he has in reserve, what he has for monthly income, and what kind of lifestyle he wants to maintain.

How to throw out my girlfriend's son out of the house?
If you read the OP, "My Thai girlfriend wants him kick out of the house." There is no indication that the girlfriend/mother has told him to leave, only that they fight and she is unhappy with the situation. There is every indication that the girlfriend/mother wants Steven Seagull to handle it and take the consequences for her.

How to throw out my girlfriend's son out of the house?
Ummmmm......it IS the boy's right to get into the house. He's living there with his mother. Until THE MOTHER directs him to leave, it's his home.

How to throw out my girlfriend's son out of the house?
Things to 'member: OP isn't married to the lady, he has no authority in that household, of which bad boy IS blood-related. Nasty things can happen when grudges are held. Touching the boy may get an assault charge. Touching the boys stuff may get a theft charge. Helping mom move the boy's stuff is illegal work. The boy can report you to immigration for deportation.

How to throw out my girlfriend's son out of the house?
You do nothing. You are not involved. You have no rights in this situation. YOU don't touch him. YOU don't touch his stuff. You're just an acquaintance of a guy's mom who also lives in his mom's house. There's a mom and another son, and probably other family in the village. You find a hotel for the weekend. They can handle it.

Foreigners running workshops/seminars in Koh Phangan - do they need work permit?
Without a work permit, which I believe I recall from threads about this at the time. Authorities were investigating the seminar/training without a work permit, and found naughtiness was going on in Pattaya, leading to more serious charges. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/russian-oligarchs-mistress-arrested-over-12102059

Rare case about VAT refund
Is this some installment plan thru the seller where they charge your card each month? In that case, sure, you'll get your VAT back, but only the amount you actually paid. You prolly won't get a refund for future VAT payments.

RCBO - Chang vs. Schneider
I read somewhere that the latest Thai reg is for main breaker RCBO. Not worried if I lose all power. If it trips at night, I have flashlights. I can switch off all the MCD's and go from there.

RCBO - Chang vs. Schneider
I'll look into ABB, but for now the choice is between Chang and Schneider.

RCBO - Chang vs. Schneider
I've got 10 MCB's in the house unit, selection of Schneider, Square D and Chang, with a 2P 63A Schneider main breaker. Would like to replace the main breaker with a 2P 63A RCBO unit. Chang and Schneider appear to be interchangeable. Chang is available locally, Schneider is a bit of a drive. Not sure if I want to order online. No desire to switch out the 10 MCB's. Can live with one RCBO to rule them all. Any reasons NOT to go with the Chang instead of Schneider?

Foreigners running workshops/seminars in Koh Phangan - do they need work permit?
Isn't it clear? Running a workshop is "work". The event site would be your "job".

Where is the definition of "use"? Where is the definition of "strength"? Where is the definition of "intention"? Where is the definition of "other"?- Foreigners running workshops/seminars in Koh Phangan - do they need work permit?
As I 'member from the news last year, you shirley DO need a work permit to run seminars.......................by a sex training coach.- I won't wear a helmet, makes me look stupid
Hahah, for the three "confused" members. Many of our local riders buy a full-face helmet, but only wear it when approaching known tea-money stops. At all other times the helmet is worn on their wrist or elbow........to protect their thinkin' parts.- Distraught Foreigner In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Chonburi

Well, I've got nothing to add.- WISE Fees
Read the first couple pair of graphs:- WISE Fees
Before we get our pantyhose in knots;...... I'm sure most of us have WISE convert from USD to THB, send THB to our local bank. This notification is for USD sent via SWIFT. If this were the send THB fee, it would be cheaper for me to send a free SWIFT from my broker, let Bangkok Bank convert to THB. - Foreigners running workshops/seminars in Koh Phangan - do they need work permit?
