  1. Depends on the TRD office. Some will issue one upon request, some require evidence you need one, and there are reports some outright refuse. There is no requirement to "owe" tax to get a TIN. Do you have a savings or fixed account earning interest, with tax withheld? Explain you need a TIN in order to file a return to have withheld tax refunded. Have you a pink ID?
  2. United States National Debt $35,836,485,696,765 Total US Unfunded Liabilities $123,307,609,374,582 https://usadebtclock.com/ Printer go "Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!"
  3. And according to Thai style accounting, only ONE will be recorded as a road death.
  4. That's how bonds work. The Chinese are giving the US government low interest loans. Chinese taxpayers are subsidizing our national debt, allowing us to bankrupt ourselves. https://usadebtclock.com/
  5. Why not declare all tourists tax residents for the duration of stay? Require arriving tourists to submit a copy of their latest home country tax return on entry, and to pay income tax at the nearest TRD office, obtaining a tax clearance certificate in order to depart.
  6. You have a pink ID, which serves as your tax number. The number must be activated, yes. You must request it, yes. Must be done through the main provincial office. The tax office lackey was correct. You have no Thai income, you bring no foreign income into Thailand. At this time, you have no assessable income. You don't need to file, you don't need a tax number, and you gave no reason to get one. If you really, really, truly want one now, tell them you intend to file returns to have withheld tax refunded. Need established.
  7. Unless Thailand has trademarked the term "Hub," I don't see what Hong Kong could get out of this relationship.
  8. It's over the standard limit in the brochures. Call and speak to someone to have your check deposit authorized.
  9. Your US bank most likely has a remote deposit function within the app, meaning you don't have to physically deliver the check.
  10. But sir, that's what this is all about. Man flies from England to visit his wife. His wife wants to see the baby hippo. She gets to see Lamduam. He gets to see................
  11. Many color variations possible. At a market in Chiang Mai, 2008.
  12. Why is it always nothing but yet another word salad announcement of Thailand becoming the pinnacle of success, without establishing any basic understanding or formulating an actual plan? Step One: Announce Hub of Stolen Underpants Step Two: ??? Step Three: Profit!
  13. at 4:54 "....any income you bring in, that your are earning from overseas, that you're sending yourself from investments, sales of houses, etc., you have to declare, irrespective of whether you've been taxed in your home countries or not. You then have to prove you have a bilateral agreement, and prove you have been taxed on it. Then the revenue departments, and for example HRMC in the UK, will speak with one another and they'll come to a determination on what taxes, if any....." Hahahhahahhaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get me this guy's number. I want him doing my taxes. Money is no object. No, give him the keys to my portfolio! To da moon, Alice!
  14. For once, the driver appears blameless. "He's a witch!" "Burn him!"
  15. Claims the "mother" who dumped her child in the garbage.
  16. As we all know, TIT, and every land office fiefdom follows a unique set of rules. We contacted our office for their requirements. OUR fiefdom's requirements: My wife had her freshly-minted blue book and ID, I had my passport with non-O visa and TM-30 address registration. I also had the MFA legalized translation of my US embassy notarized passport - leftover from getting the marriage certificate. No witnesses or village headperson, no birf' certificate, no parents' translated names. Time and cost: Blue book for the wife: one hour, 30 baht. Yellow book for hansum man: 20 minutes, free. Pink ID: 20 minutes, 60 baht.
  17. I am not at all concerned about how the latest proposed tax law will affect wealthy Thais. After all, the laws are written by wealthy Thais, and will surely benefit them and their acquaintances.
  18. I don't believe you.
  19. Could be you viewed the item before signing in with the default shipping price, clicked the buy button, logged in, then got the actual shipping to your locations. Could be you ordered more than one item. Or could be something else.
  20. Lazada has great deals on miniature furniture. Perhaps you'd like to order some and furnish that empty upstairs apartment where the bronzed one lives rent free? https://www.lazada.co.th/products/3d-i5231822361.html
  21. I had a TIN from before the covids, last year got a pink ID. Tried to file online, but neither number was recognized. Went to district TRD office, was told Pink ID was my tax number. TIN was cancelled and provincial office activated pink ID number in the online system.
  22. Not 1000% sure, but I believe it is, and can be used for filing paper returns. AFAIK it's only when filing online that the pink ID number must be activated in the system.
  23. Why a mistake? Having a pink ID or a TIN doesn't make you tax resident, nor does it require you to file a tax return.
  24. When I send $1000 to Bangkok Bank, if I select "monthly expenses," it arrives within seconds, however if I select "Long Stay", it arrives the following day at 2pm. Every. Single. Time.
