  1. This Moderna is likely to be from the kind donation of the USA. As such, cannot be offered for sale.
  2. So how comes some hospitals have Moderna available for sale (mainly in Bangkok/Chonburi) while other hospitals upcountry have people still waiting for their Moderna orders, some maybe up to 6 months?
  3. Are you accusing the Thai PHA of operating a scam? That is a serious accusation and I would advise you to withdraw it.
  4. There seems to be some unfair practice here with you getting Moderna straight away while others in the country have waited for up to 6 months! ☹️
  5. The first 1.3 million, of the 3.7 million doses of the Moderna mRNA vaccine set to be delivered in January, arrived in Thailand today (Thursday), with the balance to be delivered by the end of the month. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/over-one-million-doses-of-moderna-vaccine-arrive-in-thailand-on-thursday/
  6. You mean Union Language School ? They don't do online so no good for people who do not live in Bangkok.
  7. I am looking for a Thai language online reading and writing class. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am out in the sticks upcountry, so an online class, seeing and talking to other foreigners, is preferential to private lessons.
  8. You don't have to wait until you get to Thailand to start learning Thai. There are many classes and teachers using 'Zoom' on a computer, tablet or smartphone. I have been learning with https://learnthaiwithmod.com/online-group-lessons/ and I am very happy with their lessons. I also have private Thai language lessons using 'Zoom' with a Thai lady teacher who spent 6 years in the USA perfecting her English. For more details pm me. It is important to have a Thai language teacher who has spent time in an English speaking country so that you can understand them.
  9. Thanks for the info. I found the following thread about the interest
  10. Can someone on a retirement visa get a tax number? If yes, how? If I get a tax number, do I have to fill in a tax return every year?
  11. I understand the interest is 0.25%, is that correct?
  12. No. Here is some good information. https://www.bangkokhospital.com/en/content/gall-stone
  13. I understand there are two methods of removal. One being through a surgical cut and the other being Laproscopy. What was you quoted for and was it a State hospital or private?
  14. You have been lucky then, so far.
  15. In that case, I understand it is classified as 'big'. You should arrange treatment without delay.
  16. I had some occasional pains in my lower side/abdomen for a few years. The NHS in the UK could't find the cause. ☹️ Afterwards, I moved to Thailand and a couple of years ago had a bad attack. The wife and family forced me to go to hospital which was a private hospital upcountry. It was discovered I had stones in my gall bladder using Ultrasound. I was advised these could cause septic shock which could be fatal. I had the gall bladder removed by laproscopy at a final cost of 170K baht. No more attacks. ????
  17. "I am in early 50s and I was diagnosed with a few gallstones, one about 2.6 cm, a few others smaller. " 2.6 cm is massive!! That is more than an inch! I think you mean 2.6 mm??
  18. "The acting district chief in Koh Chang in the central east of Thailand said that they are seeking six European men who tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday." Selfish scumbags! ????
  19. Thai Bank apps seem to require activating when in Thailand. I think the Op will be able to re-activate his account when he comes back.
  20. 2 years is not very long to park some cash for a rainy day. Isn't that what bank accounts are for?
  21. Overstay of more than 90 days which means banned from Thailand for 1 year and a 20,000 baht fine. ☹️
  22. You will need a work permit.
