Correct, that's my point, in this instance you've still got to turn up therefore what's the point in paying an agent. Getting a DL is one of the easier things to do here IMO.

Why would you suggest that? most people that have lived outwith the tourist areas for extended periods are well aware of Thai society and how it operates. You're welcome to test me if you wish or are you one of these people that are forever defending the way Thai's go about their lives thinking everything is rosey? Many are fixated as it's considered a choice now and many would argue nnot necessary. Certain airlines don't evenn require them to get on their planes anymore and there's hardly a more confined enviroment for an extended period of time.
